Before Clara had a chance to finish her sentence, a huge wave of water came rushing out from beneath the ledge Danielle stood on. Danielle: Kyaaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaaa! Arminas felt time slow down as the water moved towards him. He looked at the others, already bracing for the impact of the water. The next thing he knew, he was swallowed up by water. Allison: Arminas! Allison leapt into the raging flow of water. Arminas struggled to stay afloat, and noticed Allison was following. Unfortunately, a barred gate closed down on the now flooded trench between Arminas and Allison, keeping Allison from following the others. Allison: No... |

| Ark felt himself being dragged along in the water. He surfaced, but realized that Lily wasn't on his back. He couldn't find any place to grab on to and trying to swim against the current was completely useless. He felt it drag him away and he knew that the water would carry him where ever it went. | |||

Water. Of all things. Well, it was only natural for it to BE there, but still... He was swept away in the current, washed out and through the ringer. As soon as he could, he forced his head above water and gulped in a breath... "Lily! Ark! Arminas! Where're y'al---ahhguugh!" Before he could continue, he was lost beneath the current again. There was a thud and a pain in Sigmund's head, and then all was black. |

| Arminas began coughing out all the water that had been forced into his throat. He held on tightly onto some railing that was placed along a flight of stairs that led out of the trench. Lucas was at the top of the stairs, leaning against a wall. Lily was sprawled out on the floor besides Lucas, panting very hard.
Lily: Eh heh... So much for sticking together, huh Teach? Arminas: Allison.... Damn... The water's getting... too strong for me to hold.. Arminas noticed Sigmund's unconcious floating down the stream. He reached out to grab the old man. Unfortunately, he lost his grip on the railing. Arminas: Damnit, old man. Arminas managed to grab a hold of Sigmund, and started to swim towards the edge of the trenches again. There was another stairway coming up. He held out an arm, and painfully crashed into the stairs. He held onto Sigmund as tight as he could, and started pulling the old man up. Arminas: ... He's only unconcious.. Just then, Arminas spotted Clara's head barely popping in and out of the water, floating right by him. Arminas: Clara? "Don't tell me she can't.." Arminas didn't bother to finish his thought. He immediately dove into the water and began swimming with the current. |

| Ark didn't know how far he had gone before he felt something grab his leg. The water around him seemed to disappear. It was there, but it wasn't forcing him further away. He was pulled under by something and he looked in awe at what had saved him. He'd dreamed this so many times, but how was it possibly true?
"You're here?!" Ark realized he could speak underwater and breath suddenly. He hugged the woman in front of him and she hugged him back. Then he felt the water and they were both pushed to the surface. Ark grabbed the railings of the path that bordered the trench and pulled them both up. "Elle? You're really here." Elle looked at Ark in complete silence, it was weird. Elle opened her mouth, but Ark couldn't hear it. "You're... mute..." |

| Arminas quickly catches up to Clara.
Arminas: Clara, are you all right?! Clara barely managed to let out a cry for help as her head stopped resurfacing. Arminas grabbed onto Clara, and struggled to pull her above the surface. Arminas: Stay calm! I'm here! You're going to be okay! Arminas was unable to grab onto some stairs that went by him. He quietly cursed as his chance slipped away. The positioning him and Clara were in caused them to flow into another route that was seperate from Ark's. Arminas: .... I don't see anymore stairs coming up... |

| Ark looked for something, anything, Elle could write on, but he had no luck.
"Follow me for a bit... I need to make sure everyone is all right and we need to find a piece of paper or something." Ark let Elle get on his back and he took off running against the way of the current. Hopefully this path would continue all the way through. |

Lucas: *sighs* I'm amazed at how fast we fell apart there... Lily: Oh, come on, Teach. We weren't gonna be able to fight against something like that. Lucas: Well, for now, we should try to regroup. Arminas headed down in that direction, and fortunately, this path here follows the direction. Lily: Hey, Teach, look. The water's starting to go down. Lucas: Indeed it is. | Ark heard an echo of someone speaking. They couldn't be to far away now. He was only running a few more seconds when he could see Lily and Lucas.
"So you both got out pretty early it looks like." Ark slowed down to a walk and approached Lily and Lucas, practically forgetting someone was on his back. |

Lucas: Hm? Lily: Er... Lily quirked a brow as Ark came into her sights. There seemed to be one other person with him... Lily: Um... Drenchy? That girl, on your back.. -------------- Clara: Mmmm.... ahhhh... Arminas: Clara.. Clara opened her eyes. She looked around, and saw she was lying on the ground besides Arminas, who was kneeling. Behind him was what seemed to be a waterfall that poured into an underground lake. Looking around a bit showed that there was a flight of stairs off to the side that led up, most likely to the Waterways. Arminas: You awake? Clara spoke with a coarse voice. Clara: Selk.. Arminas: Can you stand? Arminas held his arm out. Clara: Ah.. yeah, thanks. Clara grabbed his hand and was helped up. |

Ark stopped and Elle got off his back. She didn't seem shy at all as she looked directly at Lucas and Lily, almost in a questioning way. Elle opened her mouth to say, hello, but quickly shut it. "...and for some reason. She's become mute." |

Lily: Old friend? Was she living here or something? 
Lucas: We can talk about this while we look for Sigmund, Clara, and Arminas. I just hope they weren't washed out of the place. ----------------------- Clara: Where are we? Arminas: I'm guessing at the bottom of the Waterways. The water carried us pretty far. Arminas turns around and stares at the waterfall. Clara: Carried by the water...Oh! That's right! The water swallowed me up! Ahum.. Selk, are you the one who rescued me? 
Arminas: I can't just abandon someone who can't swim. Clara: You... figured that out, huh? 
Arminas: Well, the sinking kind of gave it away. I have to tell you, even with strong currents like that, I don't see people sink like that. Clara: Ugh... And after I'd kept it hidden all this time... 
Arminas: It's nothing to get upset about. You just can't swim, that's all. Clara: It's a major problem to me! Arminas: Wha, that you can't swim? Clara: Stop saying "can't swim, can't swim"! You couldn't possibly understand my feelings! Arminas just stared at Clara, confused. Clara let out a sigh and looked down. |

Lily: Hm... Lesse.. Well, that means I've gotta come up with a name for her too.. Well, you don't see that kinda hair that often, but I'm not gonna include that mean lady with the whip.... Sooo... I'll call you Vi! Lucas: *clears throat* Please excuse her.. She gives people nicknames, despite how simple the person's name is. Please, could you.. well.. Ark, could you tell us her name? -------------------- Clara: Ohh.. Of all people, why did he have to be the one to find out...
Arminas: It's not like I'm going to tell anyone. Clara: That's not the problem! Arminas: It isn't?
Clara: Well it is! ... But it's not.. Arminas: .. If you're feeling good enough to argue like this, I guess you're fine. Come on, let's go. 
Clara stopped looking down and stared at Arminas. Arminas: We're going back up. We have to find the others. Clara: Oh.. right.. Of.. course.
Arminas: Get a grip on yourself.

Sigmund: "Ooohh...." 
He awoke to a throbbing pain in his head and an aching pain in his back. Damn this body of his, he thought. Leaping in the air was fine and dandy, but apparently sleeping wrong was still a maddening problem for him. He felt where his head throbbed, and was treated to the sight of a warm liquid that tasted like iron in his mouth. Blood, great... How badly he was hurt and how long it'd take for him to recover, he had no clue. And with the darkness of the caverns, it wasn't likely that he'd be able to just walk out. Effectively, he was blind and might have a concussion. Wonderful, he thought. With nobody around, he figured he didn't need the old accent, so for the time being, he just dropped it. Not like there was anyone to talk to anyway... "Ergh... How are you going to get out of this one, Sigmund...?" He felt around in the darkness and tried to regain his bearings. The moment he reached the still-rushing stream of water, he used it to bathe his wound. No sense in letting good blood go bad. |

Rusty: Woof! Sigmund felt some cloth being tossed at his back. It came from Rufus, who was standing mighty tall behind Sigmund. Rusty was sitting beside Rufus, wagging his tail. -------------------- Lily: Me? Nickname? Hah. It would work if I spoke in third person, but I'm a lot more civilized than that. |

His weary eyes strayed to the cloth that he was using to dress his head wound. That arrogance, that charisma, that roguishness... "Rufus, ya dang fool... If'n I weren'--- ah, skip it, ya probably heard anyway, and it's not like you matter that much as far as people in the know go... I swear, I'd kill you now if I could." He picked himself up, and yet still could not see in the darkness of the cave. The accent was gone entirely, now. In fact, Sigmund sounded less and less like an old man with each passing minute. His body ached of age, but his spirit was much younger than that... "You bastard... And now here you are to save me? Pah!" He swung out at the darkness, catching only air in his fists. "What're you doin' here, anyway? And where's my goddamn ring? I know you have it!" |
