Well, this is thread/poll serves 2 points, the first is the poll, just to say which series is your favorite, even put on multi voting, since I know I couldnt vote for just a single one.

second, its also for discussion on various topics about star trek, here are a few starters,

What do you think went wrong with Enterprise?
-Personally, the only reason I think that people did not watch it as much is because of all the discrepencies(sp?), such as their enterprise technically did not exist according to later series(kirks enterprise was supposed to be the first) as well as many other small discrepencies(sp?). and lastly doing a prequel in my opinion was a bad idea, personall I would rather see new technology and how the federation grows and developes, or if the federation goes into total chaos.

What do you think they should do differently when/if another trek series starts?
-Again, I think they should not have done a prequel. Going further into the future, 24th century maybe, would have sparked peoples interest alot more then seeing stuff they already knew about, as well as technology that is far worse then in most other series, while ill admit that they did do a good job with how everything looked as compared to say TOS or TNG, everything looked more advanced, like computer terminals, shuttles, and what not. This goes for the Klingons as well. How did they go from looking like the later Series in enterprise, to TOS(dirty, scruffy looking humans) back to what they look like on TNG and later. All in all, they should just have went along with the timeline and take place after TNG/VOY.

Well, thats all I have to add for now.

(btw, fav series is VOY and DS9.)

if anyone has anything else they would like to add, do it, I just didnt have any idea what other questions could be asked really, although im sure there are alot of other discussion questions.

My favorite was actually Enterprise. I never really liked formula base TV shows. Each episode of the other series follows a basic formula, a) Start out in "normal mode", completely detached from the other episodes (most episodes could take place at any point in the series). b) Put them in some seemily impossible to get out of situation that will cause the destruction of the ship and its crew if they don't find a way out. c) They think of some long shot solution that normally involves a long string of nonsense words and for some reason more often than not the misuse of the word subroutine. d) Success, and somebody hits big reset button and their ready for the next episode.

Enterprise on the other hand, had an overarching storyline, and normally each "adventure" played a part in the whole story. And the characters developed over the course of the series, rather than just reseting to the same generic character outline at the beginning of each episode.

I also actually liked that it was a prequel. The technology got so advanced by Voyager that it just kind had the "Superman Effect" where they were so advanced that they had create ridiculous storylines to actually create conflict. I also like the sense of newness and discovery about Enterprise, everything just seemed like "old hat" by Voyager.

I think went wrong with Enterprise was just that it didn't really appeal to "Trekkies". It was just too different, and too character driven. Most traditional SciFi viewers are looking for less Fi and more Sci. But it was still techy for people looking for a drama (that and the words Star Trek in the name). It also didn't really help that it was a prequel, I think alot of people watched the other Star Treks mostly to see the advanced technology.

How did they go from looking like the later Series in enterprise, to TOS(dirty, scruffy looking humans) back to what they look like on TNG and later.

This is actually explained in one of the season 4 episodes.

yeah I saw how william shatner changed the world, really good documentary.

ah, never saw most of the 4th season, only up to the augments episode, because when it came on I neve had much a chance to watch it when it was actually coming on, although now I tend to watch it every weeknight, comes on monday-friday at 7 MST on space. I gotta say when it first came on I never really gave it a chance, but now to me it ranks up there with Voyager.

ill have to find that 4th season episode, im interested in how they changed like that lol.

(I was playing Elite Force 2, and I think it would be awesome to mod it to the Enterprise timeline, too bad I cant to any modeling to recreate enterprise crew.)

The original series is awesome...mostly because of the movie tie-ins which make it 8x more bomb! In addition to that there is also my beloved DS9, which features killer character development and some of the best storylines in the entire series.

I like the original series because, well, it's funny to watch. And Spock. I don't think I've seen any of the other series except the one with Picard.

Really to me the best season of Enterprise was season 3 when they were in the expanse fighting the Xindi. It had the most character development and the best battle scenes (actually Enterprise had the most action of the series). Season 4 was good too, but they for some reason left two unresolved storylines (I'm pretty sure they knew it was the last season) and the final episode was just a disappointment, they should have ended it one episode sooner.
It's a shame they canceled it though, but even besides the lack of interest from traditional scifi fans, I think another reason it only managed four seasons was the other Star Treks didn't have to contend with reality shows. It just too expensive to make a special effect filled show with an actual plot line, when for a fraction of the cost you can get a bunch idiots to do stupid stuff in front a camera, and actually get higher ratings.
Oh well, maybe after they do a couple of Voyager movies they'll do an Enterprise movie.

Voyager movie would be nice. But I read an article a few days ago, right now according to paramount, they even put that prequel movie that was supposed to be in the making on hold because they want to wait for people to get interested again before they do anything else. Im thinking that they will wait 2 years or so before we even begin to see anything...hopefully im wrong though

(heh, just noticed something, the star trek 40th anniversary is this year, and since it started on sept 8th, 1966 its right on my birthday, maybe I can email someone about that and get something for free )
