I just haven't figured out how to change Bowser's palette yet. I think there's a tool to do that, but I haven't messed with it yet.

Sorry for being blurry here.

We need better pictures of the SMS Boos. I recall them having slightly different tails as well.

Anyway, I hope you consider this for the third type of Boo.

Ooh, thanks. It's hard to find good pictures from the 3-D Mario games.

OK, here's a start on Baby Mario:

There's just enough there that I can run around and jump. The sprite's looking a little cramped, I think, so I might need to simplify his design a bit.

Blasphemy!!!! the more detail the better, doesnt look cramped at all ,it looks great and will look very well when blown up on a screen, detail is wonderful i think the sprite is phenominal, and also pondering if your going to change the cape at all...maybe make it red and add some of your great detail work also, that is all thank you for reading

The baby mario sprites look great. As for the sumo bro, I'd go with the second one concidering it's still a "sumo". I also found a picture of the SMS boo which shows the tail (not that clear)
http://www.mariomonsters.com/b/boobuddy/smsboo.jpg
EDIT: Seems that the the pic isn't linkable. If you want to see it, go to www.mariomonsters.com , and find Boo. The picture should be there (working )

May I specifically have a patch for a graphics only hack of your work? I just want to see how everything animates in the game.

If you actually took the time to read the thread, thats exactly what he plans on doing. So Start paying attention and get those potatoes out of your ears mister.

I like the hammer Bro better. But I say use GGS's idea and use both.

And I love the baby Mario Sprite, but your right, it does seem a bit crapped.

I love me some mariomonsters.com. I've been using that site quite a bit to find references.

If I were to use ExGfx to put in both Sumo Bros, would I be able to put both in the same area, or would I say put one type in Cookie Mountain and the other type in Funky?

Here's Reznor:

I couldn't find much of anything else in the Marioverse that resembled Reznor, so I found a sort of blurry picture of a triceratops enemy from Wario World and used that. Maybe not the wisest choice since Wario games are sort of different stylistically than Mario games. Does this look like it would fit into a Mario game, or should I go closer to the original design?

You should keep that Reznor, it looks amazing Also, did you already make the flames that a sumo bro makes? Or won't you change that?

As nice as that Reznor looks, it does seem more fitting for a Wario game than for Mario. You should make it look more like the original. As for the two Sumo Bros., you can only use one type per area. Also, both of them would have to use the same palette. I like the one that looks like a sumo better. It just seems to have more originality

Nintendo recently released artwork of Buzzy Beetle from New Super Mario Bros. I'll post it right here:

Thought you might use this for reference.

Awesome! I've been sort of putting off Buzzy Beetle since I didn't have a reference more current than Paper Mario. I'll definitely use that.

Speaking of Beetles, here's Bony Beetle:

The crumbling animation on the end is meant to apply to both Bony Beetle and Dry Bones. I guess it works all right for both, but I preferred the old animation I had for Dry Bones. Comparison:

Ice Goom you never stop amazing me, i actually like the animation better, it gives a more realistic explanation for why dry bones comes back alive, because all that it looks like was that his bones go into his shell, your graphics for the dry bones look like a skeleton koopa, so when he gets hit it once again ties alone with the fact that dry bones is a koopa, I LOVE IT

I wouldn't mind seeing these graphics used over and over again in hack after hack, actually. They're fun to look at.
As for that last Boo Buddy you haven't finished yet, I always figured he was supposed to look like his mouth was full or he was holding his breath.

There have to be a ROM address to make that the Bony Beettle uses a diferent death animation than the Dry Bones.

dont you mean different from a Dry bones, and yes there is another rom address, that one of my friends have used in order to have two different death animations.
I'll try to figure it out.

I agree with the others, the death animation is awesome. And that Dry Bones and Bony Beetle are using the same death animation is of course a stupid limitation, I never liked the way Nintendo handled this in the original, because it was just too obvious, and in fact, if you jump on a Bony Beetle in the Original, it always looked like Dry Bones for me.

But if it's possible to hack in two different death animations, that would be awesome. Of course, you could also use ExGFX, but only if you want to have only one of the two sprites in one level-area, and that's rather unlikely.

Here's something interesting... In Super Mario Advance 2 (GBA remake of SMW), Nintendo actually redrew the Pidget Bill sprites! Here's a comparison between the original (left) and the new one (right):
