Ok, someone probalby would have to help me here. My Java knowledge is kind of basic, although i'm starting to get good at it.
Thing is, I looked through the API and I don't find any way to read certain bytes in a certain offset, and the other way around with writing certain bytes in a certain offset. Help would be appercited, as that's pretty much the only obstacle my editor would have. :/ |

You wan to use the RandomAccessFile class to be able to have the freedom to seek and read and write wherever you want.

Originally posted by neotransotakuAh, thanks. I look it up on the API. I post if I have any success (or not) later. I didn't look through the API close enough I guess (But then, it's REALLY huge ). (edited by Ailure on 03-09-06 11:11 AM) |

However, the API is divided in a sensible fashion so, you could have explored the java.io package a little more closely But yeah, the API is quite extensive, but at least there is one and it is documented quite well in comparison to a few other APIs I've worked with, like the GTK library for UNIX GUIs

The JDK also comes with a utility called "javadoc" which will parse your source code (if you comment it using their little convention) and automatically generate API reference HTMLs exactly like the ones in the Official Java Documentation. |
