Now that I look at the ninji in action, I really don't like it. you might want to change the palette in that level and just have the mechakoopa be a different color.

...okay those rock.

I know how to fix the top right 8x8 tile of Koopa's head thing, it requires some hex editing. Hangon, I'll go into the pit of despair and get the offset.

how do you know what Icegoom would do.

at least give other comments, such as what you like about it.

Holy crap those rock. The only ones that aren't totally awesome are Piranha Plant (lips are a bit big), Thwimp (too much detail for such a small sprite), and the ones you said you didn't like anyway. Yoshi especially rocks.

about that comment about using the baby mario instead of the small mario, i had that same idea a while ago. never got around to implementing that idea but i would strongly advice you to do so, that would really make the sprites rule

Oh beautiful....simply beautiful. Stellar. Perfect.

One complaint - to me, the Volcano Lotus looks too much like the original. I think it might be the colour tint or something. Thats just me though

Other than that, these are incredible. Great work. And you call yourself new?

I based it off a screenshot of Super Princess Peach, and it looked basically the same as SMW there, too. Not all that much you can do with it because of the way the tiles are laid out. The problem I have with it is that the animation looks kind of bad when it's getting ready to erupt, so I might redraw the second two frames.

what did you use to edit that...

I opened the tiles in YY-Chr, then copied and pasted them out into a program called GraphicsGale to edit them. Once I was done, I just pasted them back into YY-Chr and inserted them into the game with Lunar Magic.

Glad someone likes the idea. Small Mario seems to be an idea Nintendo has kind of moved away from.

Ooh, that'd be nice.

I'm open for suggestions on what else I could do with Thwimp. I guess I could just clean up the older sprite a bit, but I never really liked the expression on Thwimp's face and his spikes looked too dull.

Heh heh. Speaking of fish, new Cheep Cheep: (Or Blurp. Whatever they're named in this game...)

Tried to make the animation a little more 3-D by having him turn towards and away from the camera, but I'm not sure how well it worked.

And here's a start on Morton:

He'd look better with a proper grey palette, but I can't figure out how to change the Koopa Kids' palettes with Sprite Paint. His running animation is limited to just his feet moving, so it can't look that great. He shares a lot of tiles with Roy and Ludwig, so this is subject to change it messes up the way they look.

Morton's cool, but it looks like he's hopping on one foot. and I think the light colors would clash with the dark background of his room.

Here's how he looks in-game:

If anything, I think I need to lighten his strands of hair so that they'll stand out. I just can't do much with his running animation since he only has two frames, and only the rightmost tiles on his lower row change. Alternating legs together, legs apart is about the best I can do.

Morton looks fantastic in that picture. Great work. I love the look on his face in the second screenie

BTW, will you be making the other 6 koopa kids custom too?

Great job.

But here is my only complaint. Those very well detailed sprites really don't fit with the less detailed ground.

Icegoom, this should help you with the problems you're having with Morton:

I've also discovered Morton, Roy and Ludwig's tile mappings. They are in the same simple format as Bowser's, starting at $1DBDE.
As you can see from the picture below, there are unused fire breathing animations for Morton and Roy!

Now if only someone could find the bytes that change which palettes they use...
EDIT: I've found them!

$1DF6E-1DF70 are the low byte for the pointers to the SNES addresses for Morton, Roy, and Ludwig's palettes, and $1DF73-1DF75 are the high bytes for these addresses. Going by this, the pointers read as follows:
SNES $00/B2BC (PC $34BC) Morton
SNES $00/B2A4 (PC $34A4) Roy
SNES $00/B298 (PC $3498) Ludwig

Those sprites make Shigefumi Hino's look cheap. Keep up the good work! The only ones I think look odd are the Moles and the Thwomps. The Moles look weird with necks and the Thwomps look too spiky.

I also think that you should use the larger Bob-Omb.

You should just release this hack with the levels as is and the new sprites. That would be awesome.
