When the psychic-powered being Popodey was defeated in Antarctica, thanks to the combined efforts of the Story Forumers and the scientist Washu's Getter-powered mecha - most notably the Melvin Robo - a crater, two-hundred and twenty miles in diameter, studded with burnt-out buildings and wrecked cars, was what remained of Neo Tokyo. The site was penned off with electric fences topped with barbed wire, a pair of guard posts at the four most extreme examples of the cardinal directions being the only entrances and exits to the Tokyo Disaster Area. What little debris remained was buried, and the area sits in wait for the day when the massive levels of Getter energy die down.

Weeks after the incident, construction on Tokyo-3 began in between Utsunomiya and the original Tokyo, which still stood. The Disaster Area, for reference, stands between Urawa and Maebashi. A group of specialized robots developed by Japan's Aerospace Technology Institute, 3G, known as the Carpenters, normally utilized to repair damaged buildings in the aftermath of giant robot battles, were used to build the new city in haste. Construction was completed ahead of schedule - in six months. An elevated, oval racetrack-shaped highway that circled the city and a massive subway system that dwarfed that of Neo Tokyo's connected every corner of the metropolis. In the center of that giant oval was an urban center that had imposing, glass-walled skyscrapers, and skylines that stood tall against Neo Tokyo's with glittering lights and neon signs. At the very center of it all stood a seventy-story tall skyscraper, in the center of a cluster of buildings - marked only by the "M-TEK" lettering on the upper-left of thee northmost side of the building. Anywhere but right up close and personal, it was difficult to discern what building it was if you weren't a local.

Tokyo-3 was built, and Japan remained silent for many months. Before long, those months had become a year. for the AF, adventures came and went, threats to the sanctity of life and Earth's peoples arose and were defeated, but nary a peer was heard from Japan. Any letter or message or phone call that was sent was sullenly turned down. Japan was quiet and docile - something unusual for the tiny, island nation. But nothing seemed to be amiss - the populace of Tokyo-3 mindlessly went about their daily lives, paying no attention to the lack of threats to their health.

Japan was quiet... peaceful.

---

In the later hours of the morning, around ten-ish or so, a man in his twenty-somethings sat kneeling in front of a low-set table, drinking tea in a blue kimono. Striking brown spikes of hair jutted from his hair at all angles, and his eyes were closed, a smile on his face. The room was relatively dark - no lights were lit in the room, which had traditional paper doors and shutters to partition the room into small sections. The only illumination at the moment was provided by beams of light pouring in from the windows. Nice 'n' moody.

That mood was quickly broken as a red-and-white helmet poked into the room, a body clad in matching armor that stayed fluid, yet seemed characteristically blocky at the same time. This man's complete upper face was hidden by his black visor, only his jaw showing, and his left arm was incredibly disproportionate from his right, sporting a giant angular shield on it, his proportionally larger hand having only two large fingers and a thumb.

SMITHY: H-hey. Why's it so dark in here?

The kneeling man opened his eyes with a snap - they were a soft shade of royal blue.

MELVIN: Felt like it. What's up?

SMITHY: You should come see this. First abnormal activity we've recieved in months.

Melvin slowly stood to his feet with a grunt, taking his cup along with him.

MELVIN: Well, I suppose the vacation had to end sometime.

The two exited through the open sliding door Smithy had entered through. They walked down a red-carpeted hallway to an elevator, and stepped inside. They both traveled down only a good dozen floors, before the elevator shot out sideways - through a skyway connecting the large main building with one of the several small buildings adjacent to it and connected by similar skyways, some for pedestrian access, others build for the same kind of sideways-elevators. The car reached the second building, and proceeded to the top. This particular building had an array of antennas, a large satellite dish, and numerous smaller recievers dotting it's roof. The two exited the elevator into a spacious control room, the defining feature of which was several extremely large viewscreens making up the entirety of the rounded far wall of the room. Several men and women in relatively casual office wear - blouses, button-up shirts, and ties - manned various computer consoles around the room. Several identical bipedal robots sporting large blue caps, lone camera lens-like eyes, and skinny arms with oversize white hands, toted stacks of paperwork to and fro, coming in through and exiting through the various doors around the room.

In a cleared circle in the middle of the room, in front of a rather large desk, stood a man in a fine grey suit. His black hair was a bit long in back, though not long in the common sense - just a bit overgrown. His hair fell down over his ears just a bit, and he had a bit of a goatee. A lit, slightly bent cigarette was between his lips, and a fedora that went well with his suit fell over his eyes. He turned to the two as they entered, and tipped his hat slightly.

BOOSTER: Hey, glad you two could make it. We're picking up a massive disturbance of fold energy around Tokyo Tower.

On cue, the center screen on the far wall lit up with a video feed of the brillian red tower - because the Tokyo Tower is ALWAYS the magnet for most sources of evil and destruction, don'tchaknow. A graph made it's appearance on the far wall, a top-down view of the area, which immediately had a range of primary colors overlapping it. Most of the area around the tower was a bright red - further away the colors softened gradually to a neutral green. Immediately, several yellow dots appeared on the monitor in the red area.

CUTE RESEARCHER: Uwhaaaa! ;.; Mr. President! Unidentified objects are folding in at an alarming rate!

BISHONEN RESEARCHER: There appear to be... fifteen, twenty... twenty-five objects on radar. Putting onscreen!

The right monitor lit up from one of many airborne cameras hovering over Tokyo-3 - and as the researcher had said, there were at least twenty-five vaguely humanoid monsters, mostly mechanical or mechanical-like, standing at least five stories tall for each, gathered in a one-mile radius around the Tokyo Tower. Hovering in the air above Tokyo Tower, was a tiny purple saucer - with a purple-cloaked man... or, uh... woman... er, both... half-and-half? standing on top of it. The wo... man... womanman... wo-man man... something... held up her... his... FUCK. staff, a simplistic grey rod with a big yellow orb on it, and bellowed out to the entire area, as if using a magic invisible loudspeaker.

BARON ASHURA: Listen, you stupid humans!

The figure pointed his cloak out in front of him randomly.

BARON ASHURA: An immortal destroyer, and unbeatable, powerful weapons...

For whatever reason, the figure's deep, masculine voice - seemed to change to that of a woman's as the floating camera focused on the female half on the person's head.

BARON ASHURA: The arts created by the genius scientist, Doctor Hell!

Ashura pointed his staff into the air, as the group of robot mechanoids around him tensed.

BARON ASHURA: Our mechanical kaiju will soon conquer this Japan!

At those words, the entire group began to spread out and cause general havoc, punching holes in buildings, utilizing various special weapons, and things like that. The camera focused on a particular robot - the Garada K7, a fearsome robot with a skull likeness and a pair of large, curved blades attached to the side of it's head. As various grunt JSDF tanks showed up and began to blast away at it, the robot effortlessly plucked a blade off the side of it's head, and flung it at the tanks. The blade dug into the pavement, cutting through it like cheese, and shaving the tanks in half like a knife through butter at room temperature. The blade came back to the Garada K7, and it flung it into the air again to carve through a number of jet fighters streaking towards it.

..

Melvin had a grim look on his face, as he crossed his arms over his chest. Everyone in the room looked at him, awaiting some kind of decision, or reponse. He impulsively swung back his arms, dove into his kimono, and produced a keycard, of which a key suddenly folded out of.

MELVIN: Iku ze!

Smithy fist-pumped, Tiger-style..

...

Several minutes later, that entire mile and a half around the Tokyo Tower was in ruins. The small army of mechanical kaiju had completely demolished the surrounding area - never touching the Tower, of course. It only attracts trouble. It never gets harmed by it. >_>;

The small purple saucer Baron Ashura was standing on floated away from the tower, the figure atop stretching his arms out and laughing eeeeevily.

BARON ASHURA: Hahaha! Now have you seen the enormous power of our mechanical kaiju?

On cue, a giant tan fist with an equally large giant chain attatched to it's wrist furst through the flame and smoke directly next to the purple saucer, arcing through the air to blow directly through the chest and out the back of a mechanical kaiju.

?: Chaaaaaain.... KNUCKLE!

BARON ASHURA: Damn! That's...

The fist turned in midair, swooping around to cleave another mechanical kaiju directly in half at the waist with the chain, causing it to explode nicely. The fist swiveled to face backwards, it's rockets turning off, and it was reeled in to attach to a tan-colored wrist.

Standing in the flames was a humanoid robot, clothed in a white, stiff short-sleeved open labcoat with a trenchcoat-like tail and a black "undershirt", with black legs that resembled pants, boot-like feet, and a golden, square belt buckle. Also of note were the robot's giant brown spikes of "hair", and huge, circular, gleaming reflective glasses. The camera seemed to pierce into the robot's chest, as is usually done in robot anime, to the pilot - the same man in the blue kimono from before, now wearing a short-sleeved white t-shirt, black slacks, and a red-and-black, diagonally striped tie, along with glasses like the robot he piloted wore.

MELVIN: Baron Ashura! I won't allow you to do as you please in this city! Prepare yourself!

BARON ASHURA: I'll see you to your grave! Go, mechanical kaiju!

Three of the mechanical kaiju standing next to the purple saucer immediately leapt towards the giant, Melvin-esque robot. Inside, Melvin began to pull at levers and press buttons, the the robot responded by reaching down and pulling it's "belt" off with a single tug. The belt immediately stiffened into a straight line, and bent at the very middle into a "V', as the edge took on a sharp sheen.

MELVIN: V... Boomerang!

The robot pitched the giant black boomerang at it's three foes. It seemed to arc around them and come back harmlessly - and then moments later, the three robots suddenly fell apart into a few hundred pieces and exploded. The Melvin Robot snapped the belt around it's waist, suddenly cocking it's head to face a robot who had leaped from a building to try and get a drop on him.

Small, purple bits of energy began to form in the air, traveling in straight lines to the shimmering glasses of the robot, which began to glow the exact same color.

MELVIN: Melvin... Biiiimu~

The twin lenses exploded into giant purple beams, which completely obliterated the robot, turning it to black streaks amid the purple background. Swiveling back to face the purple saucer, the Melvin Robot pointed, while the pilot taunted over the robot's loudspeaker.

MELVIN: Did you see Melvin Robo's power, Baron Ashura?

He was taken by surprise when a pair of hands with extending yellow segmented arms grabbed onto his robot's ankles from behind and pulled, sending him forward onto his stomach. A second robot leapt off a nearby building and curled up, transforming into a giant ball, and proceeding to dribble itself on Melvin Robo's back! Melvin's sure in a pickle... maybe... if another robot *nudge* would enter *nudge nudge* and help... *poke*.

(Welcome to Melvin's latest story, a Mazinkaiser parody! Giant robots and showy, goofy super attacks are encouraged. And no killing off Baron Ashura. D:)

((Melvin, you're back!))

Baron Ashura was caught by surprise when the giant bounding ball suddenly found itself flying towards him. Behind it stood a crimson mecha with a head like an Egyptian god, standing amid the wreckage of the city, tail flapping as the rest of the mech stood relatively motionless, holding a long spear in its right hand. Anubis, personal mech of Sky, which had not been completed in time for the last mecha war, stared at the army of robots in front of him. A loudspeaker boomed out the magewarrior's voice.

Sky: So I thought you might need some help, Melvin, and I got here as fast as I could. Just tell me who to take out, and they're as good as gone.

****Earlier****

The sun shone brightly on Neo Grape Gardens, onto the prone figure of Sky, in more casual attire than usual, as he lay on a lawn chair. This was a nice place, he thought, and he was glad he'd decided to spend more time here. If nothing else, it seemed to be the starting point for a lot of adventures, and he wanted to be ready for them. For now, though, it was time to relax.

The relaxation was quickly broken by a young man bounding across the grass yelling out dire warnings. The man, if you could call him that, he was still basically a boy, wore brightly colored clothes and appeared very enthusiastic at all times, even if he wasn't trying to do so. He shouted as he ran across the field.

???: Sky! Sir Sky! There's a big problem over in Tokyo 3!

Sky: Eh? What's going on, Henry?

Henry: Mechs, lots of them! They're destroying everything! They came out of nowhere, and the forces are just starting to mobilize against them!

Sky: And as usual...*sigh*...they're going to lose horribly, so they need us, right?

Henry: That's pretty much the idea. Melvin's in the area, though, so--

Sky: *getting up and putting on his usual attire* Oh goodness, he's going to need some help. Are these real or super robot foes we're talking about?

Henry: Judging from what I've heard, the latter.

Sky: In that case...*smile*...fire up Anubis.

The purple saucer swerved out of the way in a brief instant, the ball mecha transforming back to it's humanoid state - just in time to land facefirst in one of the city's synthesized lakes.

As Anubis stood in a pile of wreckage, with flame's lapping at it's ankles, there was a sudden montage of surprised faces, bridges by brief flashes and "dun" noises in between each image. First Baron Ashura, then Smithy, then Booster, then a fat black man with bulging eyes, then Pitch (wtf?), then Melvin, whose glasses glimmered faintly.

The Melvin Robo immediately grabbed at the segmented, extending wrists at it's feet and gave a hard yank, pulling the mecha they were attached to towards him. Melvin had moved the mecha's open palm into position to grab the mechanical kaiju's face, then planted a hand on it's stomach and directly ripped it's head away, then flung both parts into the distance as they asploded conveniently.

MELVIN: Skydude! I'm pleasantly surprised to see you back here. But we'll save that for later - let's attack together!

In the distance, along a semi-major city street, a small dog was scared off with a yelp as a tank, bearing a slight resemblance to the dull, face-covering iron helmets worn by it's three pilots. Two small turrets popped out of the front, and one large turret was lowering towards the two super robots standing in front of it, their backs turned. Two of the soldiers sat at the controls, one acting as a spotter with binoculars.

BARON ASHURA: Now, attack, Iron Mask Unit!

IRON MASK SPOTTER: Quickly! Target Melvin Robo!

The large turret raised, adjusting to set itself on Melvin Robo's head. Small, yellow orbs of pulsating light began to gather and collect at the head of the turret... Mayhap another hero would enter in the nick of time?

Pitch: Yo mang...

Rick: What're you griping about now?

It was a lovely day on the floating island of Neo Grape Gardens. However, the little green quail Pitch Falco and fellow hamster Dreamlander Rick Gerbil were both sitting in the Dreamlander household, watching tv.

Pitch: I just like.. had some weird experience, mang.

Rick: Oh.. It must be something going on below us. We're currently floating over Japan.

Pitch: Japan, huh? Hey, mang, don't wait up, I'm gonna go catch up on some stuff.

Rick: Alright. Be careful. I think I heard Kirbynite launching the Heavy Lobster.

-----------------------------

Above the battlefield twinkled a bright star. There was something special about this star. It was so special, in fact, that it wasn't even a star!

A huge, metallic heap landed ontop of the Iron Mask Tank, with one leg crushing the turret. The large mech shimmered in the sun, showing off its golden shine.

Kirby: Heavy Lobster X.0, Mark IV has been launched! ... Hum.. well, I guess it's a bit late to say that..

The Heavy Lobster consisted of the main body, with the cockpit inside, several booster rockets in the back, two large legs, and two arms with large claws attached. The mech looked like half a humanoid mobile suit. Steam poured out of all the vents in the top leg units, and in the mech's underbelly.

Kirby: Hey, guys, I hope I didn't come too late.

A good observer would notice Kirbynite was inside of the cockpit, flipping switches and moving levers. However, he was currently in his human form, donned in a blue bandana, blue jacket, a white shirt, and blue jeans. Definitely comfortable attire to be wearing inside the airconditioned cockpit.

As the large red mech prepared to strike at the group in front of him, he was taken by surprise as a giant fat robot with four extending arms came up from behind and grabbed him. The arms of the violating mech wrapped up his own, stopping his movement.

Sky: Ugh! How did I not notice this?! Nothing to do now but this!

Pulling a lever, Sky sent the mech's tail into a spin. The superheated metal cut through the arms of the mech behind Anubis, and it backed off, unarmed. It was quickly impaled by the giant spear carried by Sky's orbital frame.

Sky: Anubis is superb. You can't imagine how good it is! Like I'm going down to a punk like you.

Kirby's timing was impeccable - as the Iron Mask Unit's main beam turret fired, the bright yellow beam struck the Heavy Lobster Mark VI - reflecting off and striking a mirror-paned building - reflecting off and blasting a pothole directly next to the helmet-shaped tank, causing it to tip over into the ditch.

On the flying purple saucer, Baron Ashura reeled back, covering his right arm over his - and her - face.

BARON ASHURA:Mmph! Triple Acmlm Force members... Now I won't have a face to show Doctor Hell.

---

A glowing video monitor in a darkened room showed the three towering robots standing together amid piles of wreckage and destroyed robots. Sitting in a black throne, was a robed man with a large, orbed-topped rod-like staff and a gigantic, messy, flowing beard.

DOCTOR HELL: Melvin Robo... Anubis... Heavy Lobster! Without defeating them, there will be no victory!

His red-irised eyes narrowed, and he stood, his robes flapping brilliantly about as he pointed his orb to the sky.

DOCTOR HELL: My royal servants - Mechanical kaiju - Attack!

---

Three simultaneous explosions of dirt and dust erupted around Melvin Robo. One robot, green and black with hands like bladed pincers, grabbed onto Melvin Robo's arms from behind, digging into the shoulders and easily cacking the plated armor. A second robot burst from the ground, with double drill arms, and began to hack away at it's legs, driving blow after blow into the mecha's knee areas. Another robot, with only one drill and a second, oversize hand, began to work at the other leg.

Kirby suddenly found himself under attacks, as the ground began to rip up in the distance - like something was burrowing underneath. The trail stopped just under Heavy Lobster - while a pair of segmented yellow arms burst from the ground, wrapping around Heavy Lobster and restraining the giant robot - then delivering a dazzling electric shock to the robot and it's pilot.

Skydude's Anubis was suddenly bombarded with missiles, as several winged mecha (including one with no wings, but plenty of missile launchers, hanging onto another flying mecha's hands) appeared out of the sky to do battle.

Meanwhile, Mel was jerking at Melvin Robo's controls, trying to get some reaction from the robot.

MELVIN: Melvin Robo, move! C-Chain Kunckle! Melvin Beam! Counter Cross! Do something! Move!

His viewscreens suddenly flickered, as the entire cockpit began to lurch. The robot with only one drill had grabbed onto the back of Melvin Robo's Core Fighter, and was attempting to rip it out.

((I can think of at least one occasion where the Tokyo Tower was actually harmed ))

Meanwhile, in JDavis's underground hangar...

A somewhat tired-looking JDavis was sitting on a step latter next to his beige ZIG-class space fighter. Elsewhere in the hangar, JDavis's X-Wing and yellow Naboo N-1 Starfighter were visible. In front of him was his floating semi-transparent laptop he had been given by Washu many, many years ago. He seemed very focused on whatever he was working on, when suddenly an additional floating display popped up, inside of which a video call from Fem was displayed.

Fem: Hey, JD, there's some giant robot fighting going on in Tokyo-3. So far Melvin, Sky, and Kirb have gotten involved.

Another couple vid-windows popped up, these showing the action going on in Tokyo-3.

JDavis: *sigh* How troublesome... I'm in the middle of the final tests of the ZIG's refits... And I haven't exactly been in the mood for adventuring since...

Fem: Yeah... But maybe this is exactly what you need to get you motivated again?

JDavis: Alright, these tests won't take me five minutes to finish, then I'll need to get cleaned up...

JDavis looked over his shoulder at what appeared to be a mecha version of himself, except it was the same height as he was.

JDavis: ... and unshrink the JDavis-Robo. I'll call you back later.

There was a crunching of metal as the inner Core Fighter, which served as both cockpit for Melvin Robo and a backup means of transport, was starting to be forcibly removed from the mecha's back. Inside the cockpit's main viewscreen - a tiny picture of Smithy showed up in the lower right-hand corner.

SMITHY: Hey! Boss! Can you hear me?

A swift fist to Smithy's cheek sent him flying, and Booster shuffled into the image.

BOOSTER: I know you're not going to like this, but we've going to have to leave Melvin Robo and regroup.

MELVIN: Leave Melvin Robo behind? That's not an option!

SMITHY: Listen to what he's saying! You can push yourself so much. You're the president and a top-notch pilot, but even you can get in over your head!

Melvin began to frantically jerk at the control levers, commanding the mecha to move, but the robot was unresponsive. Then, with a sudden metallic crack - and blue electric bolts sparking all over - the core lander separated from Melvin Robo's back, the robot's Getter Reactor suddenly grinding to a halt, the robot's glasses no longer emitting their shimmering glow.

MELVIN: I--

The one-armed robot swiveled, it's lone arm circling around like a trebuchet, then sending the Core Lander hurtling into the sky.

The rain of missiles was more than a bit unsettling to Sky, who had only recently started piloting the orbital frame he was now in. Before any hit, however, he had put his mech's arm in front of the body and activated the energy shield.

Sky: Ha!

The mechs and their missiles continued to batter against the shield, and the explosions were beginning to weaken it. If some decided to attack from the ground, Sky would be rather SOL at this point. Just then, the indicator light for the Melvin Robo went out. The magewarrior looked around the cockpit for something to do, and noticed a large red button marked with the words:

ZERO SHIFT: ONLY FOR USE IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES

Sky: I'd say this qualifies.

The magewarrior slammed his fist down on the button, and after a few quick manuevers of the controls, the missiles aimed at him were hitting dirt. Meanwhile, Anubis had appeared in the air next to the largest of the missile bots, which it quickly grabbed and tossed at a group of other ones.

These weren't the slowest-witted of mechanical kaiju - the one that had been flung ignited a pair of boosters on it's backside, slamming itself into Anubis - and peacefully detonating right in Sky's face moments later, a blow sure to conveniently throw him into a building and collapse it on top of him.

---

DOCTOR HELL: Now! Capture Melvin Robo!

---

Baron Ashura listened, a yellow orb on top of his staff glowing brightly.

BARON ASHURA: Yes, Doctor Hell! All units - fold out!

Several units crowded around the motionless Melvin Robo. Baron Ashura tapped his staff downwards against his purple saucer - and he, along with the units that were left standing, and the Melvin Robo - disappeared with it.

A white-and-blue Core Lander sat embedded nose-first into an elevated strip of Tokyo-3's main city highway. The ship's windshield was broken, and the nose had been dented like a paper cone upon striking the surface. Melvin lie some feet away, his glasses hanging off his face, one lens cracked, and a trickle of blood trailing down his left cheek.

MELVIN: Fuck. That shit hurts.

---

Several rescue vehicles and machine robos (Namely the red-and-blue HoRyu and EnRyu) appeared on the scene to mop things up. The fairly undamaged Heavy Lobster IV and a slightly banged-up Anubis, their pilots, and Melvin and his Core Lander were all hauled to one of the many research centers in Tokyo-3 that doubled as mecha repair stations - in this case, the Photon Power Lab, a building shaped much like a white pyramid with it's insides curving inside slightly - and a giant reflecting pool beside it, for almost nearly no reason whatsoever.

The majority of the group was moved to a small waiting room, where they awaited the head researcher at the laboratory, Dr. Yumi, to arrive.

Sky sat at the table in the meeting room with his arms crossed and a sour look on his face. This was the first time he'd gotten the chance to take Anubis out for a spin, and everything had gone pretty poorly. It had to be Melvin's fault, as these things tended to be. He glared at the nerd, who wasn't doing that well at the moment, it seemed, before raising the obvious point.

Sky: Would you tell me what the HELL just happened back there?
