OR 24 hours have past since most of the posts in the spree where made.
It was bound to happen guys. Pretty soon, we will go back to 300 posts per day and Xk would probably want to start another spree. |

Originally posted by Yoshi DudeWell, I either worked the front cash register or drive-thru, and there was always something to be done when I wasn't taking orders. For example, as a front cashier, I had to keep the dining room clean and the trash from overflowing, and unless it was a busy time of day and they had someone else on the other register, I'd have to keep running back and forth to try to clean up between customers. I'd also have to help with other random tasks like doing the dishes and making bags of nachos and cinnamon twists. That sort of thing is jokingly easy when you can actually work until you're done, but between customers, it's annoying as hell. As far as drive-thru goes, I rarely had someone taking orders for me, and we didn't have headphones. I had to try to decipher the speaker and make drinks and get bags ready and deal with the window all at the same time, and one putz or car with umpty bazillion separate orders would hold up the entire mess. I should also mention that when I turned eighteen, I was legally permitted to work double shifts without a break. Sometimes I'd come in for a Sunday day shift and one of the closers would call off, and I'd be stuck there for 12+ hours with nothing special to show for it but a free meal that I couldn't even clock out for a full break to eat. Some fast food places actually have all of the stations manned by individual employees. This was never the case at either of the Taco Bells I worked at. |

Can't compare Rydain's experience to Taco Bell (Taco Bell + Montreal = DOES NOT EXIST) but the McDonalds near my house (literally a 10 minute walk at most) is interesting. They have peak busy time and not busy time basically. During lunch/supper, they're always busy. Rushing to complete orders, doing a million things at once... madness. Outside of those times, the employees are so... I dunno... calm.
It goes without saying that it's a very good McDonalds. |

Glad to see you got that taken care of, X. And NO, whatever you do, do NOT make the timers self-destruct or disable after they have finished. You should make sure you're around to get rid of them manually. Please! This is for our sake. (edited by asdf on 03-05-06 11:24 PM) |

Originally posted by mattpThat happened to one of my coworkers. Repeatedly. Taco Bell has never given me any digestive problem, but we hypothesize that maybe it's because I don't eat meat. (And my system is very well used to beans, so that wouldn't be likely to give me a problem either.) I've heard multiple stories of Taco Bell meat not agreeing with people. Rando eats meat in general, but he doesn't like Taco Bell beef because it seems too oily and gross to him. So we both get bean tacos whenever we make a run for the border. |

Tacos themselves don't give me any problems... fast food on a whole really doesn't, for that matter.
There's one sure-fire way to get me to go, however... bran. |

The things I adore at taco bell are the beef and potato burritos. Those are excellent.

I can't handle greasy food any more. I used to love greasy pizza, but the last time I ate it in any significant quantity, I was cranky later that night. It just sits in my stomach like a miserable rock.
I have no idea what bran does to me, but it probably wouldn't affect me that much because I already eat a lot of fiber. It would probably just taste like a more boring version of my favorite cereal. |

I know what you mean, Rydain. Nowadays, I cannot stand to eat Cheese Toast, Peanut Butter Toast, and so on. It makes me feel queasy. Same thing applies to cereal, only it extends to my gut. In fact, the only thing I like on toast now is Tuna, and you shouldn't have that all the time.

Originally posted by Rydain That's how it is at my work too. I work at an ice cream place, and aside from helping all the customers by serving them ice cream, we have to keep the place looking spotless (that includes recleaning the kid's table every 10 fricking minutes), make ice cream and cones, refill all the mix-ins and toppings whenever they're running low, replace the fruit when they start going bad, make sure there is plenty of ice cream in the showcase at all times, etc. Now, if I didn't have to constantly stop what I was doing to wait on customers, that would be easy work. But having to stop every few minutes makes it difficult, and you have to work quickly on busy nights to make sure you don't get yourself in a pickle with no ice cream/cones made. The good thing, though, is you have a lot of down time right before/during dinner to make sure you get things done. |

I probably take in enough fiber but bran itself... it just does me in. I used to adore Raisin Bran, but not anymore...
So I just went ahead and replaced Raisin Bran with Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes and Corn Pops. |
