I found it strange when I used Wi-fi in my school. It supported the adapter, but the security was set to the max and wouldn't go down.

There are two keywords there "In school". It is the same way with a PSP. The security is to the max in schools.

Suckas. Security is the min at my school... I wound up letting them know about one hole in their security... They said they'd monitor it, but they never fixed it

Well it is the same way with my laptop. It won't let me connect to the internet for some reason.

Originally posted by Alastor the StylishNot at mine, hell you need a account to access the internet. On the other hand, you do get a static IP and all. So even if it's wireless, you can technically run a server on this network, without having to setup a router (that I wouldn't have access to). Another way of playing over internet would be the adhoc way. This assumes you have a internet connection and a wireless network card. Going to try it... since it's good for me who have a unused wireless network card. |

I often get disconnected just before it starts.
Originally posted by Ansem ... Sorry but this is the total opposite of my experience. Maybe schools are better with wireless than they are with ordinary wired networks (none of the schools here can afford wireless ) but damn... local admin password last year was 'welcome'. They use Deep Freeze thinking it gives total security, but don't put a password on the BIOS (floppy drive is even the first boot device, and CD the second), and the password is 'freezer'. They often forget to even activate it. Their idea of security is to disable right-clicking on the taskbar and remove the File menu from Explorer. It's hilarious... until you get yelled at for using Notepad because the teacher doesn't recognize it and thinks it's a virus. XD |
