Numb / Encore - Linkin Park & Jay Z

This is one of the best songs ever, especially with the Best of Both Worlds idea. I love this song because it took a Rock beat and mixed it with rap and combined the two songs lyrics. Fantastic song.

Artist: The Von Bondies
Album: Pawn Shoppe Heart
Song: Not that Social

The only reason I like this song is because of the added female vocals. (Don't know which female from the band is singing) I like her voice and the songs I enjoy most from this album is when their is a mixture of male and female vocals.

Of course the song itself in terms of lyrics is questionable.'You are not that social just a good drinker' It boggles the mind!

DS_MaSTeR: No it isn't.

np: Faith No More: "Be Aggressive"

Has anything this batshit insane ever been released on a major label? Methinks the answer is a decided and emphatic no. (Keep in mind Angel Dust came out in 1992, people.) The lyrics sort of paint a picture of someone getting made to be subservient and kind of accepting his fate; the last pre-chorus goes "Malnutrition/My submission/You're the master and I'll take it on my knees/Ejaculation/Tribulation/I swallow, I swallow, I swallow, I swallow". Oh, and the chorus is a bunch of cheerleaders chanting "Be aggressive/B-E aggressive/B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E". At the end? "Go! Fight! Go! Fight! Go! Fight! Go! Fight! Win!"

Uh... yeah. Basically, the cheerleaders have nothing to do with anything. And Mike Patton and his bandmates wouldn't have it any other way. Faith No More really peaked with this album. Listening to this, you'd never think they had a big hit, and yet, they did... off the previous album.

Busted - Ra

An awesome band, but lighter than most of the stuff I listen to. Lyrics talk about being cheated on basically, but it was never released on their From One or Duality CD for some reason. I got it in a zip pack that was for download on their forums, so its like a rarity/demo/unreleased stuff. Its really good.

The FFX Luca midi... by umm... that guy who does the Final Fantasy music

Calm and relaxing, quiet possibly my favorite midi to listen to.

Artist: SMAP
Album: SMAP Vest
Song: Yozora no mukou

SMAP was first around a little while after I was born, but they were probably known even before then because of the Johnny's Jr. program. They're part of Johnny's Entertainment, the most popular and influential producer of male singing talents in Japan. This song was orignally a single back in 1998 along with their song Apple Juice (good song ) buuut like alot of their songs it had another version. Their "2001" versions I actualy even like a little better than the original. So yah..this is a nice song ._.;;

kayo dot - The Antique

best ending to an album ever. Apart from maybe street spirit on the bends.......but still. 9:25 of absolutely insane heaviness and then...silence. mellowness and...piano.

noice.

Artist: Korn
Album: See You On The Other Side
Song: Last Legal Drug

Their new CD comes out December 6th. I already have it. Figures. But anyway, this song is part of the second disc of the album. There are two versions of the album. The basic 14 track version and the second one that contains videos and bonus songs. So far, most of the bonus songs are the ones that are stuck in my mind.

Like Untouchables, it may take me awhile to get into the groove of this album. Not really bad for a nu-metal album. I just can't judge properly. The song is kick ass though. The vocals, well are decent enough. The style of playing is a vast improvement over the dullness of what the genre has achieved in recent years.

Sure as hell beats anything Limp Bizkit has put out.

mynameisbob and Kario: Take it elsewhere post-haste. No, I don't care you already DID. I'm guessing you speak of mashups, which are old news.

Everyone else: One-sentence posts ARE NOT CUTTING IT. Ones who fail to adhere to International Academy of Message Board Arts and Sciences standards will cause minor interruptions in thread service. The minimum expectations can be found in the thread title.

np: Journey: "Don't Stop Believin'"

Fuck you, they were more than Steve Perry's hair and the video for "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)". So deliciously 80's, but there's some decent songs. This one builds up in grand ballad fashion (as that's what Journey does), solo (there's really not much of a chorus) and hits one goddamned effective climax at the end. Oh, you know it. "Don't stop believin'/Hold on to the feelin'/Street light people" If you can get past the presence of piano and synth (mercifully, Neal Schon's guitar is more prominent come the second verse) it's quite good.

Oh, and also: SteeeeeeeeeeeeeevePERRY!

"Damn it feels good to be a gangsta" - Ghetto Boys
A laid back R&B song from Office Space. I love listening to it in the morning around 8:00am, you'd know that if you ever came to visit. "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. A real gangsta ass n_____ plays his cards right... now all I have to say to you wannabe, gonna be, c*cksucking, p*ssy-eating pranksters...Damn it feels good to be a gangsta..."

There also sueing their drummer But yeah, they are a pretty good band live.

Anyway I'm listening to Breaking Benjamin's "So Cold". I love the intro, the guitar sounds so nice. They are actually one of the few nu-metal bands I like. They are also sueing their drummer too (what the hells going on with that? ) The solo is pretty good, short, but good.

Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out.
I don't know why I like this song, but it's upbeat, and pretty melodic, so I guess that's reason enough. I have no other information about the artist, as I heard on one of my dad's tapes, and I downloaded the song via P2P. I should probably look into him a bit more...

Clockworkz: Yes. Yes, you should. I recommend "I'm the Man", "Look Sharp!", and "Night and Day".

np: Manic Street Preachers: "Found That Soul"

Aww, how cute, they're trying to recapture that good ol' Richey magic. Doesn't really work on that level, but it's a nice government-issue Return To the Rawk. Sound-wise, it's much less insular than their Holy Bible-era peak, which is good because they're just not that kind of band at this point. Thankfully, they embrace who they are again on their newest album, which is import-only here. Bastids.

Listen to it... it freaking ownz.
It's the intro theme to the movie 'Hackers' and the ending theme to 'Mortal Kombat'. If you like atmospheric music like Moby, you'll enjoy this very much.
