First Time Out 60% / LocalH

I didn't post any screenshots because I don't want to spoil what little surprise there is in seeing what I've done. It's not too much right now, but other than using the Sonic 1 music driver, all the code is 100% mine. Plus, you don't see a lot of Genesis demos, soto me any Genesis demo is interesting.

And yes, I know there's a garbage tile on my big logo - I've already fixed this in my source.

Edit: I put this here because it's pretty damned advanced to bring the system up from nothing =P

wow, thats pretty neat, did you do it in ASM or use some sort of devkit thing, (I would assume ASM since dev for genesis is not that big, or so I thought, seeing as I couldnt find anything)

100% ASM, although there are C and BASIC compilers available.

Heh, spiffy demo. So how hard was it to convert a song from Sonic 3D Blast to use Sonic 1's music driver?

I can safely say that it's shit easy once you understand the process.

I plan to, it's just a matter of time. All I need are some sprites, a scroller (for the gray bar at the bottom), and some effects that are timed to the music.

Link has been updated with Tweaker's awesome port of Cinossu's Radix Run Zone music (Cinossu's original work was for S2B, and Tweaker made it work with S1 for me). I also left in my rastertime counter for the music (it's the bouncing light blue bar behind the word "PRESENTS"), which shows roughly how much CPU time the music driver takes up each frame.

I'm not quite sure just exactly what I'm going to turn it into. The VDP is set to full-screen scroll mode anyway, at this point. I'm liable to change that, however, but I'm just not sure yet.
