Ark did something unexpected, he took the Base Turtle ome from one of his pockets and hurled it at the kidnapper. He instantly put up his spear in defense. |

| The kidnapper's concentration must have been hurt in the next moment as Sky, who had neared him, tossed a dagger which he had let slide into his left hand directly at the man's chest. This should provide a good metric for whether his sword would work, without taking that risk upon himself directly. | |||

| As soon as the dagger came within a feet away from his chest, the kidnapper deflected the dagger with the dark shape.
Clara: His defense is perfect! We have to throw off his concentration! Arminas slowly got up to his feet, straining with each movement. He looked at the kidnapper, and then noticed that Allison was laying on the floor. Arminas: We have to get him away from her.. All of a sudden, there was a slight earthquake felt inside the ancient ruins. Arminas, who was already off balance, fell onto the floor. Arminas: What the hell? Lily: Teach! Was that really an earthquake? Lucas: Hm.. Well.. yes, there are occasional ones on the island from time to time. How it happens is still unknown, seeing as how the island is like a big ship.. |

| Ark stepped forward and started to run towards the kidnapper. Ark jumped off the ground holding the spear in front of him and acted like a huge spear himself. Ark's idea wasn't to hit the kidnapper, although if he did, all the better to him. His idea was to make him try to dodge or block, blocking would be hard, but if he dodged, for a second, he wouldn't be able to focus on anything else. | |||

| Kidnapper: Koehra scum! Stop fighting and just die!
Arminas: Allison! No! Arminas tried to dig up as much strength as he could. Clara's eyes looked for what could've made Arminas yell out like he did. The pillar besides the unconcious Allison was collapsing, no doubt due to the previous earthquake. Lily: The pillar's collapsing! The kidnapper's glance shifted, seeing what all the ruckus was about. It was at that moment where the flying man felt a sharp pain thrusting into his shoulder. He lost his concentration for flight and fell to the ground. However, he managed to grab a firm hold onto Ark, and just about body slammed Ark into the ground as he descended. The flying man's actions didn't stop there, however. With him being the closest one to Allison, he dove for the girl, and managed to push her out of the way of the falling pillar. However... Clara: Aah! Lucas: He.. sacrificed himself to protect Allison.. Arminas lost his momentum when he saw the pile of rubble bury the kidnapper. Arminas: .... but.. why? |

| "He didn't move..."
Ark was flat on the ground, looking up. "If I hadn't done it... he wouldn't be dead... If I was more careful, no one would be dead..." Ark had lost his spear, it had driven into the kidnapper and was under a pile of rubble right now. "He was less experienced than I thought... I over estimated him... I thought he would move at the last second and give me a chance to grab his arm and drag him to the ground..." Ark sat up and walked over to the rubble. "Don't be dead yet... Don't be dead... You saved someone, you didn't need to die..." Ark started to move the rubble. He deserved better, he wasn't evil. |

| Lucas ran over to the rubble, but was slightly confused as to what to do.
Arminas: Allison! Lucas and Clara ran around the rubble to see Arminas, who was kneeling besides Allison. Lucas: ..... She doesn't appear to be injured.. Arminas: Allison! Wake up! Allison! Lily: Guys! Listen! We're in trouble! The path we came down caved in. We're seriously trapped! Clara and Arminas were both silent. Lucas glanced over at Ark, who was digging through the rubble. There wasn't much he could do right now, except for finding out why the kidnapper did what he did. He started walking over to the rubble when all of a sudden, the collapsed pillar exploded into tiny pieces, throwing back Lucas and Ark. Arminas and Clara tried to shield Allison from the random bits of stone. When all of the dust settled, Arminas turned his head and looked at where the rubble used to be. Lily: Whoa oh.. You're sitll alive?! The kidnapper, encased in a dark energy bubble, stood infront of everyone, holding onto his shoulder. Arminas stood up and held up his fists. Kidnapper: You.. haven't heard the last of me... He pulled the spear out of his shoulder, and threw it away. The energy sphere started to form a shape on his back, which seemed like black wings. The man then took off into the next area, and kept on going. |

| Ark stopped himself before hitting a wall and walked over to his spear. He picked it up and looked back at Lily. He was actually surprised she hadn't ran away.

| Cassandra: You too...I saw you on my first day on the island...so you were the one that man took?
Sky: I would say let's get out of here, as we rescued the girl, but if the path's collapsed, it looks like the only direction we can go is the way that kidnapper went. Though whether we chase after him or just go along at an easy pace I'll leave to you, Lucas. With that, Sky reached into his cloak and removed from it a small flask. He presented it to Allison. Sky: Mystic water...should replenish your thirst and start to rid you of any impurities you might have been settled with over the past few days. A sip or two should do it. |

Sky appeared a bit startled as Allison jumped away. Sky: I'm sorry, I should probably introduce myself. Call me Sky, I'm here on behalf of several adventurers' guilds to investigate matters on this island. I met up with your friend Arminas in town and joined him in order to find you. I'll show you it's fine if you don't believe me. With that, the magewarrior took a swig of the water. Sky: Best I've felt all day. |

| Lily: *giggles* She's scared of Mr. Bishie. Haha.
Next thing Lily knew, she was being knocked on the head by Lucas's hammering fist. Lily: Ow! Allison looked at Sky while he was drinking some water. She then looked away. Allison: Thank you for the water.. but I'm not thirsty... Allison finally realized why there was such a large group of people around her. She stepped out from behind Arminas, and bowed. Allison: Thank you so much for all you've done for me... Clara: It is only natural to aid those in distress. You need not feel obliged. Clara's strong words drew Allison's attention over to the swordswoman. Clara: .... Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face? Allison: N..no... Arminas: Let's get moving. *looks at Allison* Just hang on a little longer, Allison. Allison: I'm sorry about all of this happening... because of me... Arminas started walking. | Cassandra: So, Sky, why did you come along with the group anyway?
Sky: I was sent here as an observer and a peacekeeper for a few adventurers' guilds, as I said. I came with them because Arminas seemed to be in danger of, well, disturbing the peace, as well as perhaps having a link to whatever was going on. It seemed the easiest way to get a good scope of things. Why'd you come to the island? Cassandra: That's just the thing, I don't remember. I feel like I'm losing more of my memory as we go on, really. I know very basically who I am, but only snippets of my life besides that. Sky: I'm guessing it wasn't always like that...and we'll find whoever's responsible while we're here. Cassandra: One thing I do remember is having some ability to fight...but I can't seem to do anything. Sky: The two may be connected. Come on, keep up. Sky hurries ahead to the rest of the group, as Cassandra sighs and follows. |

Lily: By the way, Sammy, I've been meaning to ask you. Clara: Hm? Lily: Why did you come to Neo Grape Gardens? I mean.. you didn't really just come for the sake of justice, did you? Clara: Oh.. No special reason. I'm just looking for someone. Clara's eyes became a bit dulll. Clara: And I guess it's no use asking you for your purpose. Lily: Hey! Why not? Allison: Why did you come to the island, Lily? Lily: I'm glad you asked! Clara: She came looking for the Everlight. She claims it can grant any wish. Lily: Oooh!! You took all the fun and wonder from it! |

| Sky: I've talked to a number of people who have encountered wish-granting items and entities...they're more numerous than you might think. In every instance, there's a catch. In some cases it's like alchemy, in which you have to give up just as much as you get. Other times it's a ruse for some demon to come into the world. In a few cases you become completely insane...took one guild down in Yarkin about a week to pin down a guy who thought he had successfully wished to be king of a region, and turned into something of a tyrant... | |||
