| Ark put his hand over his face and muttered some obligatory "why the hell am I doing this" phrases.
"I hope this girl isn't as ditzy as she seems. Ditzy girls always manage to get into the worst trouble possible. Always. Just like that one time..." ...and so, Ark was lost, recalling incidents from his memories, blocking out the world. He snapped back when he just thought of something. "Why would this rock be a different color than the rest of the mountain, the rock around it looks normal..." |

Lily stepped closer to the mountain wall, and pressed against a certain area. All of a sudden, several boulders passed right over her head, completely avoiding her. Lily: Eep! I.. guess that was a trap... I guess this is the only time where I should be thankful I'm so short.. Lily turns around and smiles. Lily: I guess I was wrong. The Everlight isn't here. Ark had a stern look on his face. He had just dodged a boulder that had almost crushed him... or at least maybe injured him. He tried to say something, but couldn't say anything, so instead, he just say down against the mountain and looked up into the sky. "I'm a sucker for short girls I guess..." Poor Ark, the last time he even talked to another person seemed like decades ago, and he was hardly 19. |

| A cardboard box moved around among the ranks of the red-armored troops, slinking in and out of the conflicts between the well-trained soldiers and the reckless bandits. Two or three bandits would take on a single soldier, who would quickly cut them down with ease, not even thinking twice about it.
Those who did, of course, would find their necks suddenly and inexplicably snapped as that same cardboard box slinked away from their falling corpse. Sigmund: "Rufus... Gotta find Rufus..." |

| Lily: Hey hey hey, don't look so mopey! I definitely know where it is. It's all thanks to the process of elimination.
Lily gave two nods before she started walking. Lily: It's gotta be in the Crystal Forest! Alrighty then! We'll go there by taking that duct.. She points at the odd contraption that just happened to be laying nearby. Lily: And warp over to the Crystal Forest! And.. I suppose we could probably take a short break when we get there... ------------------------------ ???: I find it impressive that you all have lasted this long, but do not think you can survive the wrath of Danielle the Violet Fire. A large, red circle appeared beneath the female commander. Her entire body was engulfed in a violet-red aura. Danielle: Eruption! The ground between Sigmund and Sky tore open, and began spewing out chunks of lava and fire. Rufus: Hot damn! Unfortunately, Rufus was right ontop of the attack's center. He was sent into spiraling into the air, trying to cool off his keister with his hands and the air. Danielle: Kyaaa ha ha ha ha haaaaa! ------------------------- Arminas and the others were successful in their escape. Lucas bidded Pitch good luck as the bandit sealed off the exit. Lucas: Now, Miss Clara Claveer... Clara: How do you know my name? 
Lucas: Your reputation as a defender of justice preceeds you. Clara nods and holds up her head. Clara: It is my duty to help those in need. |

| Sky: Damn, you are hot, but I think you need to chill out a bit!
The blasts of fire stopped spewing from the magewarrior's hands, which glowed once more, before sending a blast of ice at the fountain of lava. A good portion of the flow hardened, into rock, but the force of the blast prevented that from being the end of it. Danielle soon found herself plowed into by the icy, rocky mass. Sky: That's not going to stop her, but it ought to show her we mean business. With the brief break he would have from the purple-haired taunter, Sky lept into the fray, swinging his now electrically-charged sword about and cleaving through the ranks of soldiers. ***** Cassandra appeared more concerned now than before. She turned to Lucas. Cassandra: Where are we? What do we do from here? |

Lily: That's the spirit! Lily stepped up to an almost flat, cylinder-like object in the floor. She tapped on the casing a bit, causing the object to lift up a bit into the air. There was a slight humming sound coming from the contraption. Lily: Alright.. Before you get in.. Think of those cool looking trees you see in souvinir shops! The ones that're, like, jewelery looking. Got it? Then hop right in. 
------------------- Danielle cracked her whip, taking down another bandit. She then noticed something in the corner of her eye. She quickly snapped her weapon hand behind her, splitting the icey mass into several pieces. The chunks flew right by her, but she didn't smirk. Something had gotten by her, and cut open the flesh on her cheek. Danielle: If you would only give us the girl, we would've gladly let you go... However, I'm not too sure I can be nice now. Rufus finally landed on the ground, with his derriere fire now extinquished. However, instead of feeling relieved, he wore a rather grim face. From the elevated height he had a while ago, he was able to see how much of his people were taken down. No matter how much he and Sky were taking out, it would never bring back those he lost, nor will save the other bandits that were still in combat at the rate everyone was falling. Rufus: Yo! Rugged Goat Plan! Pronto! Rugged Goat Plan, as quirky as it sounds, was actually the signal to retreat to the Rugged Mountains. Rufus: *looks at Sky* Sorry, man. But's gotta be like this. ---------------------------------- Lucas: We're taking the path to the Crystal Forest. An abundant source of shining was seen in the distance. Lucas: It takes its name after the crystalized fiona. It's another one of the mysteries of the island; no one knows what was the cause. Lucas turns his head to Clara again. Lucas: On the other subject matter... They say you jumped into a couple's squabble and beat the man half to death. Clara: When was that?
Lucas: A few days ago. Did you not realize what you had done? Clara: No... Lucas: I've several stories like that about you. Clara: Lies, all lies. Arminas: Nice way to help people.

| Everything suddenly went dark for Ark. It was as if someone threw a thick blanket over him and pulled him beneath the earth.
Ark felt his arm being tugged a bit. Lily: Drenchy! Dark Man! Over here! All of a sudden, light came flooding back into Ark's eyes. It was a spectacular display to behold. There were patches of crystalized grass here and there that stuck out like crystal shards in a cave. The trees were all transluscent, and towered high above everyone. Lily finished pulling out the Drow out of the strange transporter when she plopped herself onto the ground. Lily: Whooo.. Break time! Break time! ---------------------- Lucas: The spirit in which you follow is quite admirable... but perhaps it'd be wise if you think about the concequences of your actions. Clara: .. I guess you're right.. |

| The soldiers were stronger than he had expected, not like most grunt troops, and though he'd felled quite a few, it seemed like they just kept coming. This was a losing battle. Jumping to a bit higher ground gave him some breathing space after Rufus's announcement.
Sky: Leaving the party already, wild man? Sorry to hear it, but I guess the odds are against us. I'm not about to go down in a blaze of glory today, but I can help slow your pursuers. At that, the magewarrior's hands glowed brighter than they had before, and a wall of flame headed at the bulk of the troops not already engaged with the bandits. The few at the line of creation of the wall were incinerated, while the others were pushed back by the immense heat, forced to retreat almost to the edge of the cliff. Just before they would have been pushed off, there was an earsplitting crack, and shards of rubylike crystal fell from Sky's gauntlet. Just then, the flames stopped. Sky was dazed for a moment, and then gave a meek smile. Sky: ...guess I overdid that one. Sorry, cutie, but this is where I make my exit! And with that, the magewarrior bolted into the cave. |

Rufus made sure the rest of his gang made it through closest mountain path before he ran off himself. Soldier79: Commander... What shall we do? Danielle: What else? The fools have left, so now we're going to search-- Just then, a bunch of boulders fell from above the bandits' lair, effectively blocking the entrance. Soldier79: ... Commander? Danielle: .... Regroup and find another way around. Now. ----------------------- Pitch tossed Sky a furry canteen with water. Pitch: Hey, holmes. Thanks so much for jour help, mang. If joo ever need anytheeng, just ask. I'll make sure Rufus does eet. ----------------------- Lucas: You know how dangerous it's been to even get here. I think it would be best for you to take the nearest duct back to the village. Clara: I cannot go back now, even now, that poor, captured girl is suffering. Lucas: I had a feeling you'd say that. In that case, work together with us. Clara: Work together? Lucas: That kidnapped girl, Allison, is his sister. Clara looks at Arminas. Clara: Oh, I see... Arminas: ... The forest seemeed very familier to Ark, he came from a world where almost the entire land scape was crystlized. "I should just do this here then." Ark walked a little ways and stood between two trees. He held his hand in the air and the crystal trees began to glow, even the grass began to glow. Small twigs and bark from trees and leaves of grass from the ground began to break off and form in Ark's hand. They compressed and formed a crystal spear. When danielle's army had come up towards the cave, Snipes has stubmbled his way around to behind a boulder, hoping he hadn't been seen. That army of hers didn't look all to inviting, and in his current condition, Snipes was in no mood to fight, if he could avoid it. Now, wiht his back pressed against the wall, Snipes could hear the soldiers coming closer, looking for a way into the blocked-off cave. ~Damn! How do I get out of this?~ As Snipes peeked around the corner of the boulder, He came face-to-face with one of the 'red army' soldiers. Surprised, Snipes tumbled backwards, landing on his rear. Scrambling backwards, Snipes drew himself up against the wall, and moved his hands to where he could grab his weapons easily if he needed to. |

Arminas: Oh, don't play that card again. ----------------- Lily: I'm always careful! A little mischievious grin appeared on the little girl's face as she trekked over t the source of the shining. As soon as she cleared the tree, she was greeted to a vast assortment of beautiful treasure. Golden cups, diamond necklaces, sparkling dresses, even Shines. Lily: Jackpot!! Lily rubbed her hands together as she walked closer to the treasure mound, ignoring all the large, thick cobwebs in the area. Lily: Oh, I wish I brought a bigger pouch.. All of a sudden, what could be described as two large, boulder-like spiders leapt out from behind the crystal trees. Lily: .... Eeeh heh.. Um... Nice spiders...?
