Fun, it'll be here in a week. In the mean time, I've been trying to muster up enough NES ROMs to fit the entire thing. So far I have a 9.8MB PocketNES ROM, so I may as well forget about adding extra junk (btw pirating GBA games is for losers)

Is that Dhark Daiz's luigi vs. Mario I see on there? anyways, cograts on the purchase. how much did it cost you/where did you get it from? I've been thinking of getting a GBA flash kit for a while, but the prices were always an issue for me.

I wanna know how much a 256mb or a 512mb one costs.

I want to be able to play NES on my GBA too.

Yes that is DharkDaiz's pwnage SMB3 hack
I got the thing from kicktrading.ca (it's labelled as 256M, but that's megabits, 32MB is easier to use). It cost me $80 when you add shipping and handling, but otherwise it's pretty good. The cart has a small USB port on top and I guess I'd just need to put stuff onto it.

Also, I'm considering using SMSAdvance to play the great Sega games of the day too.

There's also a SNES emulator for the GBA, but the emulation is rather... dodgy last time I checked.

Also, it would be nice if you posted a little review about a flash cart. I wanted to buy one for the longest time, just for the NES emulation but I hadn't bothered with it yet becuse i'm afraid that I wind up buying a crap-brand. :/

Yeah, thatīd be useful to know for me too.

Iīll probably go for a 256mb one if it isnīt too expensive.

cool. Something I've wondered is does that work on the game boy player? (the thing that lets you play gba carts on gc) If so, can't you essentially play nes games on the gc?(and snes-gba ports for that matter)

Yes it works on Game Boy Player. Doesn't look the best though... if you have Animal Crossing, they have some NES games in that (There's four games (Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Punch-Out, Ice Climber) that you're not supposed to get in normal game play, you'd need an Action Replay to unlock those (I'm normally against cheating, but you can't obtain them otherwise)), it plays better like that (and you can use the GBA as a controller). Remember PocketNES is optimized for the original GBA and GBA SP; not sure how it turns out on Game Boy Micro, but shouldn't be a problem.

Kicktading took forever for my shipping of my SuperCard >.> I just got it today, and it's been over three weeks since the payment. I would think that something from Hong Kong would take longer than something from Canada, but 17 days-difference says otherwise

Question; are these carts rewritable, so if you get tired of one game, you can load up a different game?

Since it uses a flash-rom, then the answer would be yes, it is 110% re-writable That would be some nerve to charge the kind of money they do for a one-time ROM chip, anyway.

I just picked up a GBA Media Player for $25, and a 128MB CF card. The GBAMP can load multiboot GBA apps such as PocketNES. (Not commercial ROMs but who cares.) Plus by hacking the firmware (ridiculously easy) it can load multiboot DS apps too. nesDS, whee! (snesDS doesn't work too well though. )

I just got my flash card in the mail yesterday. Take taht Celice, kicktrading only took eight days for me!

So far I've fit PocketNES (added a few that aren't in that old screenshot), SMSAdvance, and the whole SMA series ( yeah I said pirating was for losers, but hell I have all the real carts too so yeah :p; plus the first SMA makes a far better SMB2 game than the original, in my opinion). About 30Mbits (~4MB) left on the cart. yeah.

Everyone has different experiences with online suppliers. I think it took around 10 days for Lik-Sang to send me my PSX external mod chip a few years back.

FreeDOS: You're still being a hypocrite by putting the PocketNES roms on in any case.

What? About what I said with pirating GBA ROMs? <_< The only thing I found really hypocritical about it was downloading perfect dumps of the four SMAs... which I already have in real form anyway >_>
And NES is a dead system. GBA is alive and perfectly purchasable in any store. So having NES ROMs, I don't see a problem really. Also most GBA games suck, NES games rox my sox.

Nintendo's probably going to have a problem with it soon when the Revolution comes out and you can download games, so...

I'm not bitching you out for it though. I do it too. We all do.
