For those that havnt heard the bad news yet Twilight princess has been pushed back to Fall 2006.
To tell you the truth im not surprised but I am saddened

Techinically its not another delay since Nintendo just said sometime after this fiscal year when they first pushed it back.

This is old news. And it's a shame, really. Hopefully, it won't become another Duke Nukem 3D, and ideally, it should be released before the Next-Gen console wave begins.

Wasn't... It... Pushed back... Months ago, though?

I recall it being slated for a fall '06 release... Awhile ago. This isnt so much pushing it back so much as confirming the release date.

Well...atleast it is coming out this year.

The longer the wait, the sweeter the reward.

Not really.

I just want to play the damn thing already.

As far as I know it was supposed to be released Fall '05 and they pushed it back to "After this fiscal year" and most speculated it would be released in April '06.

They did the same stuff with OoT though, it got delayed several times for almost 2 years.

Not like it was delayed, they was just going to give out further information around now. It's not much of a pushback really, although a European release before summer would be nice. Guess I have to play it as a maniac when i'm home during winter, unless it's released early spring here next year...

Oh well, if Shigeru Miyamoto is right... DNF will be awesome. >>;

Thatīs probably the best quote Iīve ever seen.

Yeah, itīs sad that itīs even more delayed but we can look forward to a good game, at least. It doesnīt matter that much really. Iīll buy a Revolution when it gets released here so I can wait with buying this game.

If Iīll get it, that is. But itīs good that itīll be released for the gamecube.

They have been tantalizing us with this game forever. I don't even have a gamecube, but I may buy one, or a Revolution, so that I could play this game, since it looks so wonderful.

Is this going to turn into another Daikatana or worse, Duke Nukem Forever?

Well, you have to remember one thing. Ocarina of time was apparently delayed alot, then it got praised as one of the best games ever when released.

And apparently, I heard you get a few extras if you use it on a Gamecube. :/

It's a good thing that it's being delayed. I wish Shadow of the Colossus was delayed a bit more because of the shoddy camera, and I'm very happy for Nintendo to delay Twilight Princess. Yes, it could end up being the next Daikatana, but look who was at the helm of those games-

Shigeru Miyamoto for Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess

and

John Romero for Daikatana.

Need I say more?

I think Romero lost that privledge after Daikatana came out, to be perfectly honest. (One game where you can make a serious, credible argument that the GAME BOY version was the best.)

And it's not another Duke Nukem Forever. We actually KNOW this exists.

It's not so much that it was pushed back, but that Regi (who may not be THE most reliable source, in retrospect) had promised it would come out in April of this year. Last I checked, fall was later than April =|

edit: typos. fixed.

Why? Molyneux's games have proven all to be gems, if not slightly over-hyped. Romero had one flop and he gets pounded into the dust after basically carving one genre into what it is today. And the way that he flopped too! That was ill! Come on, he did it like a rockstar with Daikatana. Imagine if he'd have just started doing hard drugs and then produced the game then!? Imagine the glitches!

Whoa, guys! Note the ! They stand for happiness! Romero is a gaming in-joke, practically every gaming webcomic ever has taken the piss out of him.

The only gripe I have against Romero was the way he did Daikatana. He over hyped it and used the world's worst recruitment strategy - "Do you want to be John Romero's Bitch?"

Molyneux is nowhere near as bad, he just overhypes things way too much, particularly with Fable. He admitted this himself after Fable was released and said that he'll always do it with Lionhead's new games.

Even if that's his only flaw, I think that Molyneux does have a proven track record; so does Romero but his blip is a HUGE blip. Molyneux has some small blips but he had success both with Bullfrog and on his own. Taking a good game and hyping it up to be the best ever is still better than taking a crap game and doing the same.
