An FF Nut you are

Q: I've adored my best friend for about...6 years already. Around last September, things got really hairy when she told me she was seeing someone, I told her I was fine. However, two days later I cut her off and basically was in a devastated mode. She emails me about a month after about not talking to me for a while, then she saw my blog (which sort of depicted the details of my though pattern and stuff during that time). We sort of resolved the issue at, although I'm not sure where it is resolved. I met her again around Christmas to catch up on stuff and things weren't quite the same before last September. Ended up going into a funk and invested all my energies into a CD+DVD Set of assorted Japanese music (and their music videos) complete with covers, cd booklet, etc. She really appreciated the gift but at the same time, it seems things weren't going any better so yeah... I'm not sure what do to now.. we talk here and there but not like before where conversations were more involved about the stuff that was going on...

Neo - Hmm, I know exactly where you are at the monent, because I'm there too. By shutting her out, you've come across as a bit immature to her, after all she probably just considered you as a friend, and then the way you acted, well possibly showed her for the first time that there was some other feelings there, and this is bound to make things uncomfortable between you. She now feels a bit awkward, and is scared of getting close to you again, because mabye she feels down for unwittingly upsetting you, and hurting you again. They say that time is a great healer, and I believe in this case, she'll forget about the way you acted and start opening up to you again, but it'll take time, jusyt don't be all heavy handed and take things gently. Apologise even for the way you acted in the past, and wish her happiness in her new relationship (because that is what a friend would do).

Ran - Hmm, there are so few to choose from really, but I suppose one of the most fun was the time I escaped from my Grandmothers back yard (she was in the kitchen cooking) when I was about 3 1/2 years old. I climed up the massive 4 foot high wall, and scaled it like I was in some Prison movie, and then once out I went to a Steam train station so I could watch the trains come past. A Stranger bought me Ice cream, and I was there for a good couple of hours. I later found out that my grandmother had panicked and had started a desperate search party, and this 'stranger' happened to be my grandmother's friend. I remember it all vividly for some reason, and I suppose it was the first time I showed what would become my biggest asset - my imagination.

I've got one.

This girl I wanted to ask out a while ago. I was really into her, however.....

She would write poems, lots of them. almost a dictionaries worth. All about her wanting a guy in her life who liked her for what she was, who could look past all her "faults" and she the angel she potrayed herself to be. Not many people like her. But I have always been a gentlemen around her. I've told her how I feel and that she truly is a unique person... and what does she do? She completly avoids me. She speaks to me only to avoid the awkward silence. She fires up a conversation with other people when I'm around to make her look busy. She practically avoids eye contact. To me. One of the only guys in her known world who respects her and treats her kindly.

I don't care about going out with her anymore, but busting through that shell of hers to find out whats so damn bad about me that she won't even talk to me has proven quite difficult.

I've asked alot of people this and I figure I should ask you too.
Is she a hypocrite? Or am I the exception to her rules.

candrodor - "See above" My next earliest one is probably listening to the album "War of the worlds" for the first time. I was about 5 years old, and the Martian Cry of "Ulah" gave me nightmares for ages afterwards,

Dude Man - Hmm the first thing that wentered my head when reading your post was some bad news - She doesn't like you. But now I think it's more complex than that, you see sometimes fantasies are best kept just that - a fantasy, and although she knows that dating you will be the fufillment of her particular wish, it might not be what she REALLY wants deep down. Having a bloke to look after you in that way is a very romantic notion, but most women in my experience do NOT want romance, quite the opposite in fact (which is why so called 'bad guys' get the girl). Also, perhaps what she writes in her poems aren;t real, they could just be a work of fiction.
Finally, and this I suppose is the most posivie, view, she might like you REALLY lijke you, so much she's scared of being let down by you. My advice would be to take things slowly, try to be friends with her, and if she doesn;t repond, cut your losses.

Pirahna - Hmm.... good question. I think it would have to be a Valentines package from my ex fiancee which came when I was pretty low and missed her a lot. Firtly the box was decorated with rose petals, and had not one but TWO cards (one romantic.. the other... not so romantic *blushes*). Also in the box was some music CD's, a PSX game (Parasite Eve... which still smells like rose petals to this day), and a velvet lined book with poetry, photoes and all sorts of other romantic bits in there. It was all so sweet.
Non romantically, it would have to be my sis sending me a Valentines card one year because she knew I was upset and lonely.

Japanese Blowfish - I'm a believer in that the mind takes in a LOT more than we realise and what we might think as "deja vu" is simply occuring because we have assimilated this information somewhere else. If you're refering to relationships, well that's because as humans we tend to stick to what's safe and familiar rather than what's different, even though what is familiar may not be the best thing for us.

Taryn hosted it I think, the old Cactuar one, and I lost it when we switched boards. I think she's deleted it off her server, and since she hosts my blog too, I don['t want to impose on her further. Sorry!

Why the hell did you unsticky this? We need you.

You're a heck of a lot better at male matters than I am.

And speaking of which...

So I met this girl that I really really really like. And I wanna get together with her, and I think she wants to get together with me too. Aside from the distance between us (she's a little too far away from me for me to drive) I think this is entirely possible, and I'm looking forward to the day we can do it.

But there's still a problem on the home front.

There's this one kid who seems to think I have a crush on her, and she's under the impression that I want to be with HER instead of the awesome person that I'm referring to above. She's firstoff WAY too young for me and secondoff kinda creepy in the sense that she's really clingy but at the same time goes through boys like they're last week's lunch.

So what do I do, take the direct approach, or just kinda let her down easy about this?

Hmm a fourth Ask thread? If that gets more posts than mine too, I'm outta here!
If I'm apparently so good at advice, why am I ignored by the board at large eh? Exactly.
The new thread title hasn't worked any either. Ah well.
NE ways I digress.

Hmm let her down gently, that's what I'd do, if she doesn't get the hint, just ramp it up ,slightly. If this other relationship is working out, mention it.
