Sky: Well, then Cassandra, glad to have you on board. I promise I won't let anything happen to you. Oh, and one more thing...

Sky reached into his cloak and produced a hairbrush and a band, which he gave to Cassandra. She gave him a funny look, and proceeded to groom herself a bit. She quickly got the feeling that Arminas wasn't pleased to be standing around, and quickly tied her hair up and gave the brush back to Sky. He replaced it from where it had come and turned to Arminas.

Sky: Don't worry, we'll get there soon enough. Can't go leaving innocent girls in trouble, can we? I'm sure she can stay out of a fight if we have another one.

Cassandra speaks up, her soft voice matching her slender frame.

Cassandra: I...I can fight. Or at least I could. I don't know what happened to me there.

Sky: Err....well, just hang back for now; we wouldn't want you to push yourself.

Cassandra: All right...*sigh*...I want to help, though.

Sky: I'm sure you'll be able to. For now, though, let's get moving.

As Snipes stumbled closer to where he'd seen the flames, he started to hear what sounded like voices. Distracted a bit by them, Snipes looked up, and missed a rock on the ground. Smashing his foot into it, Snipes let out a small yell or pain and promptly fell over from his loss of balance.

Ow... Damn. I need to watch where I'm going."

Shaking his head, Snipes got up off the ground.

Lily: You don't.. You're a weird one, Drenchy.

Lily stood tall (well, as tall as she could anyway) and pointed to the coast.

Lily: Onward! Oh! Right! Now I know the real reason we stopped. Those guys!

The girl pointed at several large tortoises that were walking about the sandy beaches. It seemed like there was some sand castles on their backs. There were clotheslines running through the sandy towers, with actual clothes hanging from them.

Lily: Base turtles! You guys are ome users! Take them out!

Lily tried to speak in a comforting voice.. as comforting as she could, one would suppose.

Lily: They bite, and they spit out blasts of water and sand.. But I'm sure you guys can take them.

---------------------------------

Arminas: Finally.

While Snipes was left to ponder over the singed ground, the rest of the group was almost at the mountain range. The grassy hills were slowly losing their brilliant green, and being replaced by bland pebbles and the like. There was a slight fog appearing around the area, but it was nothing to feel hassled about.

Lucas: Everyone be on the look out. Rufus' men don't lurk around here, but there are random bandits, as well as wolves on the prowl.

((Sorry, Sukasa, there was already a pretty big distance anyways ))

OOC: That's fine. Snipes will just... Find himself going their way.

When Snipes made it over the last hump between him and the burn mark, he was a little mystified by teh burn. If was oddly circular, and there was no visible sign of ashes.

"Strange... That couldn't be natural, because every fire I've had experience with has been random, or at least had ashes."

Pondering this, Snipes turned towards where he had heard the voices, and set off at a brisk pace, still saving the energy in his repulsors for when he needed it.

No sooner had Lucas uttered the warning than he was proven right. Several wolves approached the edge of one of the hills overlooking where the party was standing.

Sky: They're above us!

Cassandra: Something's not right...

Confriming what she said, one of the wolves' eyes appeared to glow for a second. Sky instinctively pulled Cassandra to the side as the wolf shot at her at a high speed. The creature bounded from where it had landed back at Sky, who just managed to block the strike with his gauntlet. The wolf was definitely putting up a fight, and soon the other four had similarly lept at the group.

Sky: They've got omes!

Lucas: Or perhaps they're more in tuned with the natural omes within their body... Fascinating...

Arminas: Is now really the time to be amazed?

Arminas turned to the side to see a set of jaws coming right for his neck. His hands flew before his face, and managed to stop the wolf from chomping into his flesh. A bit of blood was draw from his hands as he used his strength to keep the beast from closing its mouth.

Arminas managed to shrug the wolf away from him. However, the wolf was relentless in its attack. The beast came back for another bite, but Arminas decided he didn't want another grapple session.

Arminas: Demon Blast!

With a perfectly timed small uppercut, Arminas smacked the wolf's lower jaw. The amount of force that was put in caused the wolf to actually stand on its hind legs. Not giving it a chance, Arminas followed the rest of his attack with a strong haymaker punch that knocked the wolf into the ground.

Arminas: Bloody thing...

Lucas: Earth Glaive!

Lucas' fingers shined with power as several long pieces of earth jutted out from beneath another wolf's underbelly. The wolf was sent into the air and left to fend for itself on its unpleasant trip back to the ground.

Arminas: These things are just wasting our time..

As the wolf bit into Sky's gauntlet, the armor held, but the creature would probably change its venue of attack soon, so he wasted no time. With his other hand glowing, he pushed at the wolf's head, and the creature was soon covered in ice. That ice was swiftly melted, along with the creature itself, as a very hot spot formed where it had been. A small orb fell from the air in front of Sky, a tribute of sorts to his antipode attack. Grabbing it, the warrior brought a swift kick to the other wolf which had decided to go after Cassandra, knocking it to the ground.

Sky: Four of them, four of us. Someone sent these after us.

With that Sky released a small knife from his jacket into his hand and drove it through the skull of the downed wolf before it could react to being thrown.

Cassandra: Then that means they know we're coming. We have to turn back. It's got to be a trap.

Sky: Then the last thing they'll expect is for us to walk into it knowing it's there.

Arminas: I can't believe they counted that old man as being the fourth one. *glares at Sigmund*

Lucas: Yes, well, atleast we're done with this.

There was a sudden shriek nearby. Arminas quickly shot his head in the direction of the shriek. The wolf Lucas had sent into the air finally hit the ground. It wasn't moving.

Arminas rolled his eyes and continued forward, without waiting for any reaction from the others.

The fog was getting a bit thick, but that was only around the base of the mountains. The path the group was taking was across some rope bridges.

Arminas: How much further 'till we get there?

Lucas: With you rushing us like this, it shouldn't be more than fifteen minutes. And will you hold on? We might be walking into a trap.

Arminas: Look, there's no one across that bridge we're crossing.

Lucas: Well you could have atleast made sure everyone was alright.

Arminas: ... meh.

As the group is in the middle of one of the rope bridges...

Sky: Oh my god! They're cutting the rope!

The group gasps, and Sky smiles.

Sky: Just kidding!

Lucas: ... It seems like I've got yet another child to babysit

???: Halt!

Arminas: Dammit, there're here?

Arminas looks around for the source of the voice. He looks up, and notices some people on the rope bridge above.

Lucas looks up as well, and notices something.

Lucas: Looks like I'll be taking care of my other business right now.

Male Voice: We've got you now.

Male Voice2: Give up, girlie.

Female Voice: "Give up"? "Got you"? Please! Don't speak such nonsense until you've tasted my blade.

The sound of a sword being brandished was heard... quickly followed by the sound of ropes snapping. Arminas hopped backwards, avoiding the two halves of the bridge that was cut in half above him. He also avoided being knocked down by the young woman that fell onto the same bridge as everyone.

Bandit: Damn! Now we've gotta go all the way around!

Bandit2: Um... Just.. stay right there for a few minutes before we get around, ok?

Strangely enough, the people that were on the same bridge as the woman didn't fall into the gorge below. They all made it to sturdy grounding before the bridge fell.

Lucas and Arminas stopped looking at the bandits and looked at the woman. Her blue hair's length was cut to around her shoulders, but she still had bangs long enough to cover her right eye. She wore a short blue cloak that only covered her back and her front, but not her arms. There seemed to be a silver crest of some kind emroidered in the center of the cloak.

The rest of her clothes seemed rather strange to Arminas. Her gauntlets seemed a bit huge, but it fit the role of holding the broadsword she had. Her pants seemed a bit flowy.. something he'd expect to be sweeping the floor. Though.. he couldn't recognize the type of shirt she wore underneath the cloak...

Arminas held up his fists. He was starting to get tired of all the set backs.

Lucas: My God, that was a reckless thing to do.

???: Grrr... More bandits! So be it!

Lucas: Huh..?

Arminas was the closest person to the mystery lady, so she immediately swung her sword at him. Arminas dodged away from the sword, and tried to swing at her with his own fist, but he missed as well.

Sky: Whoa there, lady, hold it! Eep!

Sky jumped back as the blue swordswoman whipped around to swing her sword at him now, knocking Cassandra down onto the floor of the bridge. As the new character prepared to strike again, Sky snapped his fingers, which glowed, and the broadsword seemed to become rather heavy, as it was drawn into the bridge, with the woman still holding on.

Sky: Look, miss, we're not bandits, and we don't want to hurt you. *glares at Arminas* At least most of us don't. Don't mind the kid, he's just a bit jumpy.

Cassandra, having gotten up, calmly steps forward and places her hands on the hilt of the broadsword, still drawn into the bridge, and speaks in a calm voice.

Cassandra: Just let go, please. You have a lot of spirit, but look at us; we're not your enemies.

Lucas: We were going to rescue Allison, the girl who was taken by Rufus.

Arminas: You're heading to the bandits' lair, too?

Arminas: Why?

Arminas: And my objective has nothing to do with you.

Sky: I'm starting to wonder what I got myself into. But I suppose I'm needed here, so that's where I should be.

Cassandra: Enough! You have the same goals as we do, do you not? You should come with us. There is safety in numbers and you seem to be in need of a party. Arminas, you have a party with you, and fail to recognize us as such. You're much more likely to be able to rescue your friend if we work together in this. Miss, my name is Cassandra. What is yours?

Sky: Hey, I hate to cut the introductions short, but the bandits are on the other side of the bridge, so we might want to be leaving now.

Lucas: Yes, leaving would be the best idea.

Arminas: ... Bloody hell! They've almost enough for an army!

Arminas wasn't joking. There was a huge swarm of bandits appearing on the side of the bridge that the group came from. Arminas and the others started dashing towards the other end, fortunately getting them closer to the Rufus' hideout.

Lucas: *looks at Sky* I take it you'd like to have the pleasure of taking care of them.

Sky smiles at Lucas and nods.

Sky: Oh, you silly bandits, don't you ever learn?

The bandits ran across the bridge as quickly as they could. The bridge itself was rather long, and actually managed to fit a decent number of the bandits on it. Sky stood with his sword drawn, which quickly took on a reddish glow, battle-ready as if to take them on one by one. Just moments before they would reach the other side he cut through the ropes near the edge. The bridge swung down to the other side, many of the bandits falling into the chasm, and still more holding onto the bridge. Sky smiled.

Cassandra: Was that last part really necessary?

The bridge was also burning from the side on which Sky had cut it, causing the bandits' attempted scramble to the top to be all the more hasty and unsuccessful.

Sky: Yes. Yes it was.

Lucas: A bit flashy, but it works.

Arminas: That's a nice gang he's got, that Rufus.

Lucas: Indeed.... Hey.. where did she go?

Lucas quickly scanned the area for the blue swordswoman that they had encountered. However, she wasn't there..

Arminas: Who cares?

Arminas soon felt a fist slamming down on his head.

Arminas: Ow!

Lucas: That's the young lady I mentioned before!

Arminas: You didn't have to hit me..

Lucas: *sighs* Clara Claveer. She came to rescue Allison.

Arminas: She doesn't even know Allison? Why the hell--

Lucas: She was born a knight. Knights act according to ther duty.

Arminas: A knight...

Arminas blinks for a few moments.

While Snipes had been walking along at a fair pace, when he heard the shriek, he sped up, wondering what was happening. As he got closer to where it came from, Snipes found the bodies of the four dead wolves.

"Yikes. Looks like someone didn't appreciate the local wildlife "

Letting out a small giggle at his own joke, Snipes kept forging ahead, catching up to those ahead of him.

The Dark Elf turns to Lilly and shrugs.

"I suppose you have a reason why we're killing them? They're not attacking us...though I get the feeling you think they would anyway."

He turns back towards the Base Tortoises...muttering under his breath "(I don't like this at all....)". He examines his surrounding thoroughly, but quickly.

"Reptiles. Standard weaknesses should still apply...let's see just how differently The Weave operates when put these this 'omes' schematic."

The Dark Elf closes his eyes, and places the end of his staff between his toes, putting the partial loop of the staff in front of his face, with the amythist crystal in front of his hands and mouth, his left hand gripping the staff at waist level, and his right hand in front of his right shoulder, chest-level, with the palm upward and fingers spread...standing perfectly motionless for several seconds. The crystal begins to pulsate light, almost sinoidally, and with each peak brighter than the one before, cycling once every half second. A few more seconds go by, and a pale violet beam connects the crystal to the palm of his right hand for a few seconds, before the beam suddenly stops. His right hand clenches into a fist, and then thrusts forward, spreading his finger wide at the foremost point.

Diamond Dust (as per summoning Shiva...but, no Shiva is seen. The attack originates from the Drow's right hand)

Ice forms all over in front of him, easily catching every ...and his mutterings under it are almost inaudible "(...takes too damn long...can't use type-summoning magick here....)"
