Deep Discount DVD's having a sale on Criterion DVDs, so I got these:
DVDs Brazil [The Criterion Collection] Carnival of Souls (Herk Harvey's) [The Criterion Collection] Eyes without a Face (Georges Franju's) [The Criterion Collection] (*Les yeux sans visage) Le samouraï [The Criterion Collection] I kinda wanna get Yojimbo as well, but first I have to watch my Criterion DVD of Ikiru before I delve any further into Akira Kurosawa's work. (Man, that guy's made a lot of movies.) If I like it enough, I'll buy Yojimbo. Not that the movies are anything alike (one's a samurai movie, the other's not), but if I like the guy's style and if I'm impressed enough by Ikiru, then I'll definitely want to seek out more. I also might get Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and I'm considering getting The Last Temptation of Christ. I'm a little skeptical about the latter, though, 'cos I hear it's very controversial, and I am a Christian, so I dunno... Not that I have a problem with sacrilegious Jesus jokes, but when it comes to what's meant to be a serious telling of his tale, I get a little worried if some aspects are severely bent out of shape. So I might rent it first... EDIT: Pffffftttt........ CDs Gary Numan - Living Ornaments '79 Gary Numan - Living Ornaments '80 Skinny Puppy - Bites The Devin Townsend Band - Synchestra [Special Edition] Those Criterion movies are fuggin' awesome, by the way. Well, I haven't watched Carnival of Souls yet, but I'm sure it is wicked. (edited by Abnormal Freak on 01-28-06 09:03 PM) |

CDs
Ed Gein - Judas Goats & Dieseleaters Nasum - Grind Finale [Limited Edition] The Tear Garden - To Be an Angel Blind, the Crippled Soul Divide !T.O.O.H.! - Order and Punishment DVD Beavis and Butt-head: The Mike Judge Collection - Volume 1 And I need to quit buying stuff for a while, 'cos I really need to save up for a car. The Beavis and Butt-head set was given as a birthday gift, and even though the "director's cut" episodes are actually cut down (which is a total drag), the set's still very funny. Wish it had more music videos, though... That was the funniest part of the show. The Ed Gein and Nasum CDs were bought with a Best Buy gift card, also given for my birthday. The Tear Garden CD was cheap (and I've loved the song "In Search of My Rose" so much for so many years, I had to finally hear what the rest of the album sounds like), and !T.O.O.H.!, well...!T.O.O.H.! kicks ass! I just had to get their new CD when Willowtip got it in stock. (edited by Abnormal Freak on 02-11-06 04:18 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 02-11-06 05:39 PM) |

I have just recently ordered three cd's and one game online.
CDs: Children of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet? In Flames - Come Clarity (Limited Edition w/DVD) I'm not sure what's on the DVD part, so I'll see when it arrives. Edguy - Rocket Ride (Limited Edition) I got the Children of Bodom cd and the game today (Just collected them from the mailbox). The rest will come soon, as they didn't have them in stock. What the game is doesn't matter, as it's not meant to go in this thread anyway. That, and I fear you'd laugh if I told you. Oh well, I'll go and listen to Children of Bodom now, then play the game. edit: The "Come Clarity" limited edition DVD will apparently have recordings of all the songs played live in studio. Sounds pretty cool. (edited by Cumulonimbus Virvel on 02-11-06 02:32 PM) |

Silly me, I bought more.
DVDs Empire of the Sun Saving Private Ryan [Special Limited Edition] Schindler's List I had to see Empire of the Sun, as some people have claimed it's Steven Spielberg's best (though it seems to be a pretty unknown film). Along the way I figured I'd pick up a couple other Spielberg greats that I haven't seen in years... |

DVD's
-Saving Private Ryan CD's -Rakim & Ken-Y: Masterpiece -Zion & Lennox: Motivando a la Yal Saving Private Ryan, never saw it prior to purchase but I was curious to see it. Found it at a good price. Haven't seen it yet, haven't found time to do so. The CD's are both from reggaeton artists. Found both of them are a nice price. They both specialize in romantic type of songs so that is a big plus. The Zion & Lennox one is old though but still good. Rakim & Ken-Y is new so yeah. |

KMFDM - 84-86 [20th Anniversary Edition]
This 2-CD album rocks so hard. I'm confused why it's the 20th anniversary edition if it was released in 2004, and originally released in 1986. The title, 84-86, are the years it was recorded in. I got the even more special edition of this double-album 'cos mine's got "Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid" stamped on the cover. : Now I'll probably order OPIUM from KMFDM's store soon, and then I'll have to track down the other CDs I don't own. But for now I'm content with the MP3s of 'em all, especially the hard-to-obtain original NAÏVE. (edited by Abnormal Freak on 03-09-06 06:01 PM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 03-09-06 06:02 PM) |

Originally posted by Plus Sign Abomination It seems to have gotten so much more expensive now that the rest of KMFDM's Wax Trax! albums have gone out of print. Right now seven bids have brought a current auction up to $42.06 and there are still nearly three more days left to go. Some of these crazies are trying to sell it for $70. I just hope, now that KMFDM have their own record label, they rerelease all of their albums (maybe even remastered), including the original NAÏVE if they can. EDIT: Blue Velvet [Special Edition] CQ [Special Edition] Flesh+Blood The Howling [Special Edition] The Killing The Last House on the Left Mad Max [Special Edition] Raw Meat Straw Dogs KMFDM - NIHIL Megadeth - Peace Sells...but Who's Buying? Megadeth - Rust in Peace Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction 'Bout time I got my own copy of NIHIL. : As for the Megadeth CDs, well... Ever since the release of the remasters, the originals seem to have become "obsolete," even though I'm told they're superior anyway, and now they're really cheap on Half.com. Fine by me. Can't imagine they could, considering the rights issues. Although I haven't heard the legal version of "Liebesleid", just the one with the offending sample (which really is more common than you'd expect). | |||

"Liebeslied" is great. It tears the balls off of "Leibesleid (Infringement Mix)". I only just recently heard all of NAÏVE. Had to download it all, of course. I love it. Wish I had it. : Are you sure you've heard the original "Liebeslied" though? 'Cos the remix still has "O Fortuna" in it, but it's performed by KMFDM and sounds really weak and pussy-like. The original has an actual sample of a recording of Carmina Burana. The remix is about 4:38 long, while the original is about 5:33.
