I admit. When I first heard about this game, I thought "WHY?!?!?!" I never ever thought any FF game deserved a sequel whether it be a game sequel or movie sequel because I liked how they left it up to us to think of what happened after the game was over.

But anyways. When I first bought this game I hated it. I couldn't stand the whole Charlie's Angels feel. And now it's almost two years later and I've decided to pick it up again and I'm enjoying it now.

I always liked FFX and the ending always made me feel empty in a way. Now that I am playing the sequel I am determined to get the best ending.

I really like how it's not all doomy and gloomy and it's more of a happy-go-lucky game. The job classes (or dress-spheres) are a nice addition and I'm glad the ATB bar is back.

What were your feelings on the game when you first heard about it?

My feelings towards FFX-2 swung quite a few ways over the course of a month. At first, I was so excited about a sequel to FFX, which while not perfect, was a great game. Then, I saw the whole "Charlie's Angels" thing and decided it looked awful. Then a friend whose opinion on games I generally trust told me that it really was a good game underneath there, so I decided to ask for it for Christmas.

Getting the game and putting it in...I tried to like it, I really did. Occasionally I would have some fun with it. There are some interesting things in the battle system, but a lot that I just didn't really like (class changing has always been an iffy factor for me, and only a few games have done it in ways I've really liked, like FFT). As far as the story, I thought some elements were nice, but the presentation was awful. The whole game felt like a bunch of completely unconnected vignettes.

I'm not much of a fan of the game in general.

Speaking of ATB, it seems FF12 has kind of a modified form of that. I got DQ8 for Christmas, but never got around to popping in the FF12 demo disc...and I don't have my PS2 with me here, so I guess I'll have to wait another month to see.

FFXII is completely different than any other FF game, except it is sort of like FFXI. It isn't traditional in any sense though.

As for X-2, I hated it. It wasn't interesting or fun for me, it wasn't really customizeable and it was VERY easily.

I know what you mean with that. When I first played I really tried to like the game but I didn't. Now that I'm trying it again I'm enjoying it. Sure the whole game has the girlie girl feel but I'm liking it.

I thought it would be a good game then I heard you only had a girl party that was pretty stupid with no guys in your party why is that? When I played it in the beginning of the game that is still the stupidest part of the game ever what fuck are they doing that charlies angels shit, so much stupidity put into this game allready and now I hate it even more. The story was a little boring at first and had no story that much. I have to say of all the FF games this is the worst one ever made in history and I hate charlies angels movies so stupid.

I'm not sure about the worst Final Fantasy game...have you played Mystic Quest? That one is pretty awful, especially when you consider that they gave that to us instead of FF5.

Yes I did play mystic quest and it was ok, but not better than any other final fantasy instead of FFX-2. I would say that is the second worst FF game that has been made. Why do you think that they gave us mystic quest instead of FF5 why do you think that?

I don't care what anyone says. I still want more ff7! The game rocked, the movie rocked, hell even the action figures rock (I got Cloud, Sepiroth, Kadaj, Fenrir and Reno and Rude). ff7 is still one of the best games ever made. ffx was alright but I didn't like the whole bright, sunny feel to it.

The only thing I really enjoyed/liked about FFX-2 was the starting music clip, the rest was all 'meh' to me I guess. The changing costume was a bit weird though.

They should have just left FFX to be a stand alone.

FF7 is a good game, but it's also one of the most overrated games of all time, easily. Good, but certainly not "one of the best games ever made" by any stretch.

As for FFX-2, I must admit, I did like "1000 Words" even though the whole scenario around the concert was a very lame part of the game.

I liked the short skirts.

...

And on another, more gameplay related note, The game didn't really dissapoint. I was expecting more of an expansion of the previous game then something completely original, so that didn't surprise me. What I did enjoy was the return of ATB, the dress spheres (maybe a little unoriginal, maybe hard to work with, but definantly added to the strategizing), and... oh, I dunno, the opening sequence.

And for the confusion surrounding the beginning of the story, I found that problem to be solved by watching that prequel movie to this game. You know, the one that was a sequel to the final Japanese release... "Eternal Calm", I believe it was called. Anywho, OPM gave it out on a demo disc with the english actors from FFX doing their stuff again, and it covers the gap of time between FFX and FFX-2 effectively. It's about 15 minutes long, and I don't know if it was given out on anything but the OPM demo disc (or at least the English version), but search Google for it.

And Clockwork, I take it you bought that $300 special Advent Children release to get those action figures? =/

No actually. I got the two disc edition imported because it still isn't released here in Australia and I bought the figures over the internet straiht from Japan.

I liked FFX-2. A girl based story line was fun to play since most of the games outthere usually have male centered stories. Yes, the storyline is a little weak, cheesy, and perhaps stupid. But I like chessy and stupid things. The battle system was alright with the ability to do combos, which is nice. Hopefully that is ported into FF12. The dresssphere stuff was fun, changing jobs in the middle of the battle was a good addition. Game is a tad easy but it is diverse enough such that the story isn't entirely linear.

I like the game so much I actually bought this:

I just like the game for it's nice and simple storyline, I know it's not that great but it's fun if you want a change.
