I couldn't find a thread already, but that's absolutely awesome! Definately in the same league as FuSoYa making Edge a couple of years ago

Very funny, CJ. Anyway, it´s nice to see that more people from this board are getting a little famous.

Congrats, Daiz. I´ve to try that hack sometime.

It's strange to see something like this in "the public's eye."

Congrats Daiz.

Hmm...makes me wonder if the fact that he just got done interviewing with VC&G has anything to do with this...

Was it about MA? Because, that was the exact same thing he just got done talking about with them... [checks] Ah...yep, but VC&G got word of him two or three days earlier. Wonder what circulated his hack; I'm guessing it might've been the time attacks done by Bisqwit.

Regardless, I'm not surprised he's getting recognition...even if this really isn't his best work, it's still a great effort regardless.

First off, I noticed this on VC&G first through Kotaku and gave DD a heads up on it. Then Hiryuu posted in the comments there so I'd like to take a small, thin shread of credit for noticing this, although if I hadn't Kas certainly would.

Once again, congratulations for getting into the mainstream blog-related gaming press, DD.

I started playing Mario Adventure last week while I tried to upload my hacks. Anyway I'm still playing it a dozen of times. Anyway Congrats Dahrkdaiz for a successful mainstream game.

Didn't shroomy make the funny flash toon mario twins?

Yea, Fusoya making edge is more comparable to Acmlm's name on Splinter Cell(3?)

What did Fusoya do anyway to get in that magazine?

Daiz on joystiq is coo. I've read that blog a couple of times.

It was Lunar Magic and one of his hacks. I still have my scan:

Joystiq is still pretty big, it's just as good an achievement as getting into Edge. Joystiq may be just a blog, but it's part of a very large network and has tonnes of readers

Its a good achievement getting into Joystiq, but its not quite on the same level as Fu getting into Edge. Congrats to Daiz anyway.

Well, FuSoYa is also known in some hacking book. I was looking in it and it said "Game Hacking" and I checked. It was about rom hacking and it had a links section. First link: FuSoYa's Niche...
I do think DD made it in there too.
Too bad I can't remember the name of the book...

Either way, congrats. While it wasn't a perfect game, it did show that a lot of work can be done to a hack to make it stand out.

Look for "Jean-François Lapointe" in the credits, though I've never actually played any of the games.

I get more news now from gaming blogs as opposed to commercial sites, since they give you a good picture of what's happening around the gaming world.

...That name COULD be a coincidence in SC3, you know.

yeah, there could be some other french guy with the same name...or maybe thats where acmlm was, seeing as he rarely comes here, and when sc3 was being created, it was pretty much the same.

I think Milly, if he was working on the project, probably would have said something about it in IRC one time.

It's all speculation.
