BMF isn't the best SMW hacker.

I dare say BMF is the best hacker, period.

There are way too many SMW hackers for this poll to really work.

My votes go to...

FuSoYa- LM and DWTLC did it for him .
BMF- Impressive ASM in SMO and cool storyline.
Ghettoyouth- Awesome graphics and storyline for PITMK...and not afraid to be controversial .
Ice Man- Great graphic rips and level design, level difficulty needs a bit of work, but other than that, great SMW hacker.
FPI- Very fun level designs in SRP 1 & 2, and hilarious Chaos Complex .
Juggling Joker- Fun levels and awesome candy tilesets.

Everyone else, you either are not so good at SMW hacking, or you don't bring anything too stunning to the table .

Um... BMF54123, FuSoYa, Bio, Smallhacker, Hyperhacker, Glyph pheonix, others I couldn't possibly list out...

Yeah. Basically, If you've done stuff to try and further others, such as patches, utilities, or anything else, I really respect you.

That said, I was mildly surprised to see 2 votes for me. I haven't done too much.. just a couple of demos and one fairly good patch.

Don't take what I say too personally. It takes a lot to impress me, having a decent hack, at least a demo, is something I prefer, along with fun levels and nice graphics. Don't expect me to go hullaballoo over animations alone, I'm looking at the overall scheme of things.

I wasn't particularly impressed with your hack to be honest. The level design didn't really entertain me too much and some graphics need work...

You didn't vote for me either, so you must have your reasons as well .

Alastor - Good, creative levels and a better-than-average story.
Anikiti - Fun gameplay.
BMF54123 - ASM hacks ahoy.
FPI - Interesting hacks in general.
FuSoYa - Finsshed the first BIG SMW hack.
Ghettoyouth - The maker of the first (good) hack with mature humor.
Ice Man - Good level design, great graphics.
Juggling Joker - A unique graphics style.
peter_ac - Good remakes of classic Mario games, and a promising new hack.

I'm trying to get a demo out, if I can finish levels for the first world and not for world 3 or 4 D:

Well, fact is you don't have a demo out so I can't judge your overall abilities, now can I?

Seriously man, get over it.

I don't think Peter wants a bloody topic on his hands ...

You're both talented hackers in your own ways. Tech has good knowledge of animations and ASM pointers and such, and GY has hacks with great level design. You're both winners

Similar phenomenon happened with SMB3.

Well that makes two of us then . Seriously, your level design and graphics are nothing to brag about either. They're mediocre at most.

That you even mention graphics in the same sentence as level design shows quite a flaw in your thinking system...

I'm Kyouji's whore: His graphics might be mediocre (the guy has not an artistic bone in his body), save for the eyetites; but his levels are clever and preserve the feeling of the original game. Except the first fortress, that mother****er was annoying.

Of course, I liked your hacks too , in short: Can't we all just get along? Tis valentine's day in the morrow.

Now, now, guys, no need to start a two-person flamewar over whose hack is better. Both set out to do something different, and do a good job of doing what they were designed to "simulate" (so to speak). It's no big deal. Just calm down.

No no, now you're confused. Using graphics and level design in the same sentence isn't to signify which is of more importance to me, it's to show the level of quality in your particular hack. Both are mediocre .
