I honestly don't remember how I got here. Not entirely sure why I still am, either.

Someone, I don't remember who anymore, dragged me here nearly 4 years ago.

Am I the only one surprised with how long its been and the changes that have occured?

What 'caused' me to be here?

Well, that's SLIGHTLY different than the numerous threads that I've seen about 'why did you register at blah blah blah'.

Caused me...caused me...oh! It was because I wanted to bug Ace via PM that my run through his Strange Mario Bros. wasn't showing up in his time attack page. This was three years ago. Sad thing was I didn't know that he wasn't updating that anymore. Broke my heart.

Oh well, I'm an admin now. It's all good!

Ohhh...
Well first, it started when I was playing SMBDX. I found the little pictures they had of all the sprites and objects, I drew them to my computer and started drawing my own levels. Four months later, my cousin showed me that you can play NES games on the computer with something called Nesticle. After a download, I was disappointed to realize the hell of finding something called a ROM. Two weeks later, I found a little site that had the non titlescreen version of Super Mario Bros. But when I played it, I couldn't get it to work on Netsicle, I evenually found a website called Zophar's Domain. There I found unoffical Nester. And hurra it worked! Anyways, I somehow found myself with SMB2 and 3 at a certain website. After a while I was growing board and discovered this thing called an ips at YY's website. But I didn't know how to use it because I was a total n00b! Eventually I gave up. A few days later I discovered Darkmazda's SMB3C website. He had a patch in .exe form. I used it no problem, his site was also mentioning Acmlm's Strange New Mario Bros. Hack. After seeing that my dream of changing the levels of SMB could come true, I was determined to figure out how to use it. I eventually found an ips patcher at Zophar's. A week or two later, Zophar also introduced me to the SMB Discombobulator. I was learning how to change levels. A year and a half later, I found out about a SNES editor and eventually Lunar Magic after seeing some SMW hacks. So now I was hacking SMW. But a month or so later, I was turned on to Hyrule Magic, so now it's Zelda III. After realizing how difficult this program was, I wanted to see if anyone had made a hack of this game, back to Zophar's... nothing. So I wanted to be the first perosn to make a Zelda III hack. But a month later, I wanted to be absolutely sure that I was the first to make one. After some Googling, I came across a hack called Tower of the Triforce, the source Acmlm's Board. After checking out the site, I finally decided to sign up, and well here I am as the profesional speler.

What caused me to join? Well, someone bugged me to join. *points to Ailure* I wasn´t sure when he first asked me so I waited and checked how it was when he was on. So after a while, I joined. It´s been a fun experience to make friends here.

Wow, what caused me to join Acmlm's....? That's kinda going back some time. Mainly the fact that one of my friends joined the board (whom I don't know is still around or not) and I thought this was a pretty cool board. Or is I should say. But I remember being quite the n00b then.

Hmm, that was back in 2001 if I remember right. I wanted a new board, as I was really tired of how lame ezboard was... And a pal of mine (Unsocial Mind) told me about this place and introduced me to Acmlm.

*dusts off "The Explanation"*

Me and Acmlm go waaaaay back, back to the old Zophar's Domain and Bastardly Productions boards, then to his ezboard, his wwwthreads board, and finally his first AcmlmBoard. I didn't actually post here for the longest time, until my usual hangouts started dying at an alarming rate...you could say I was "forced" into becoming active here.

Hmm. I wonder if the old wwwthreads board still exists in some form on the OverClocked server? I remember lots of in-depth discussions about SMB2, which in turn led to the creation of the SMB2 Discombobulator...

Google brought me here when I was looking for Zelda 3 hacks, bringing me to Sephie's Zelda 3 hack thread. That's err.. A very long time ago.

I looked up rom hacking on the google search engine,

From there, I saw acmlm's rom hack domain and I would look up the site very regularly. I saw the message board but had very little interest in it. About a year later, I decided to register

I don't remember it very well but I was just getting into ROM hacking (Pokémon ). I don't recall how but I came across this board when it was just opening, I think I even registered, but then it went down for quite a while. Meanwhile I learned about ROM hacking from other places, and then one day someone IMed me on AIM telling me that the board was back (and had been for some time), so I came back.

Well, I was a member at some other messageboard, and on there was this guy named Videogamerpat. He posted a thread at that board about his SMW hack with the Bob-Omb as a main character, and linked to a thread he'd made here with screenshots from the hack.

I got interested in SMW hacking, downloaded some nifty program called Lunar Magic, and started working on my own. Somewhat inspired by his hack, and a fan fiction I made at the previous place, the main characters where Morton and Cheese.

Then, after some time, I joined here to ask some dumb question.

It was during the time I was a n00b in pokémon hacking... I was helping a guy with sprites and other stuff I could do on his hack, and he said me he found this place, where the creator of Elitemap was, as well as other goooooooood hackers, so we decided to look for things and ask for others here. So here I am. Anyway, I was lucky that that happened before kawa's "n00b hunt"... I did no newbie post. ^_-

I was looking for a Mario World ROM back in '02, and I stumbled upon here. I was spammy back then, but so were most of us...My username was 'Dude' for a while, then changed to 'LILMARIO'. I've kept it ever since. I was 3 day banned for telling acmlm to fuck off

Oh, and I told YD to 'go fuck a tree' XD

In short, Zophar's Message Domain and acmlms reputation there before he suddenly dissapeared and made his own board.

Well, it all goes back to when my grandfather got me a PS2 for my birthday, along with a crisp new copy of Final Fantasy 9. Brilliant game.

So, I started playing the game, but as this was the first RPG I had ever played ... well, let's just say I went crying to the internet in search for an walkthrough. Thus, I found myself at Unofficial Final Fantasy 9 site, and I registered on their message board just in case I needed some extra help. Stayed there for almost a year eventually. In the meantime, I happened to make the acquaintance of Leroy, more commonly known as Tuvai or ADTLG ... I actually forgot the original name that I met him under.

I registered at his RPG Revelation (currently known as Tuvai.net.) A thread, much like this one, but more along the lines of "what message boards do you frequent?" came across, and Acmlm's Board was mentioned by Tuvai himself. Apparantly, he had just been banned. Feeling left out of the conversation because it just so happened almost everyone there knew about it, I visited Acmlm's myself. I lurked for a few months, then registered.

Spammed for 100 posts, then made my way back to RPG Revelation and UFF9site. However, after I while, I found an interest in story-telling. Remebering that Acmlm's had a role playing forum, I came back and became part of the active Story Forumer community.

Well, that's it, I suppose. I'm still fairly active here ... I left UFF9 soon after I became active here ... and I visit Tuvai's site every once in a while because he and I used to be pretty good buddies ... besides that, I just can't seem to get along with anybody there anymore.

*le sigh*

Reminiscing sure is depressing.

Thank God for Acmlm's, right?
