You can't be serious.... Cartoon Heroes Standard being hard? I have those jumps DOWN, man. They're not tough. But ugh, those cross gallops, sheesh!

I saw Ska A Go Go heavy done a few days ago too, I think I might give it a shot. I can do the standard, it can't hurt right?

Right away, I've got a question to ask, having to do with StepMania, although that should be obvious.

I've got one group labelled "Hiryuu" (yes, I've still yet to break them into groups for the different mixes), in which are 5 Max songs, in the following order:

:: Max 300
:: Max 300 (Fusion Mix)
:: Max Max
:: Max Rock Trilogy
:: Maxx Infinity

We'll assume the song selected is Max 300. Looking at the rank for that song, and the others below it, all of them have been AA'ed on the highest difficulty. However, press right 4 times, so Maxx Infinity is selected, and it's rank changes to an A

That's all I have time to say for now though, as I leave at 3 today

That's kind of bizarre.

Do does SM have a point system like the bizarre DDR ones? Or does it go strictly by dance points?

Grey - Ska A Go Go isn't too bad. But it's still a big step up from its standard.

I lose track on the last part. It's just one long stream.

On that A thing, I think you're looking at your A on Oni. If you play a song on Challenge and haven't changed stages, it'll got the next highest stage.

For instance: You play something on Oni and go to MAX 300. MAX 300 has no Oni so it shows up as Heavy. MAXX Infinity, if it's mine, probably shows your score on Heavy when it's on MAX 300, but if you rotate it to MAXX Infinity, it shows your Oni score when you hover over it because you're more than likely on the Oni score.

If I'm right, MAX 300 should come up blank when you hover over Infinity Oni, right?

So apparently there's an In the Groove PS2 port. Interesting.

What are "hands" as defined in Cyric's FAQ on GameFAQs? I'm guessing it's something where you hit more than two arrows at the same time?

By that I hope you're talking about In The Groove.

That's when you absolutely have to handplant to hit steps no matter what. Anubis Expert is a good example. 4-steps and jumps inside jump-freezes (basically a split/lagged 4-step).

Yeah, I was talking about In the Groove. I would've thought that'd be obvious, but I guess not. Oh well.

Alot of times when theres two freeze holds and a hand pops up many players will switch one foot off the freeze hit the hand and quickly come back to the freeze. You have to be pretty fast to do it.

I've seen a few players just plain hit all four arrows with 2 feet at the arcade. I've also seen a person actually stand between the arrows and hit them by moving his toes and back of his foot, its actually pretty hilarious.

Bend your mind medium and on is a really fun song as far as hands go, <3 spins.

Yeah, I noticed in DDR there's a certain "tolerance" for being off of a freeze arrow before the game will actually "NG" you. I'm presuming the same holds true of In the Groove/Stepmania?

Yep, I dont know the exact amount of time specific to SM and ITG but learning to hop of a freeze for a split second or so cant be too hard once you practice it enough. I'll probly try to do it myself since there are one or two situations where I feel really awkward hitting the hands.

Well I got AR MAX to salvage some of the crap on my memory card but about half of it was labeled 'corrupted data'. Thankfully, it has a tool to format a memcard too, otherwise I would've had to pitch it since PS2 doesn't have a way to format a memcard otherwise.

Well, sounds like DD missed the date for OSC. Shame, that would've been a nice competition to see how good I really thought I was. :\

So after slowing it down to 2 out of 5 (And slowly speeding it up to normal speed after a few plays), I managed to figure out how to (for the most part) properly step Afronova on Heavy. Yay me.

So Deep continues to vex me.

Yea I tried Afronova again with crossing and shit. Ow. So that's what the whole Afronova walk was.

Oh, I somehow low A'd it.

EDIT: SO DEEP Heavy is hard in terms of repetitive gallop streams but it's really not that hard in terms of rhythm. Listen to it with assist tick on in Training Mode and you'll get an idea. It's practically the same thing for eight (? -give or take) loops then adds something in...repeat.

Yeah, rhythmically it actually isn't too difficult, but because it's pretty much nonstop gallop streams (And worse), it's hard to pick it back up again if you lose your place for whatever reason.

That and the fact that it doesn't let up once it starts.
