I find it amusing that people are 'cringing' at the controller, despite the fact they have yet to hold, let alone use it, let alone SEE it truly used.

I'm sure people were probably a bit concerned when we switched from honking joysticks to D-pads, but that worked out well.

People were also wary when Nintendo was, again, the first to introduce a new control scheme--the control stick.

And look where THAT'S taken us.

I feel confident that Nintendo knows what they're doing--they have a pretty damn good track record when it comes to controls for their consoles.

I can hold an N-64 controller and do things perfectly fine (assuming the control stick isn't worn), but I can't do that as well with the standard PS1 controller. Ick. D-Pad, 3-D games? Yucky.

I'm not concerned about the controls right now, because I have yet to play a Nintendo game that frustrated me control-wise (aside from Mario 64 DS, but that was expected--D-pad, 3-D game? Yucky).

I'm more concerned with features, characters, that stuff. When E3 comes around and we see how the controller works, THEN I'll think about it.

reckon they shoudl add ridley to the game. Imagine ridley versus samus. It would be fun if they made it balanced.

Mach Rider isn't even a bike game .__.;; and they made a medly of Mach Rider songs as the alternate music to Big Blue in SSBM. It's almost like they were going to do something with that (like the Balloon Fighter music in Ice Mountain)

This is the Mach Rider I remember.

In don´t recall ever hearing that music on Big Blue. I guess I`ve to try that.

Thats given me an idea. Either a mode or bonus characters that are all similar to Giga Bowser. Ridley wouldnt really work normally in an arean alongside the others because it's supposed to be huge! And if it was downsized it would look pretty crappy.

I forgot about this thread, I read the posts I missed. It had better use an extension, but that means I have to buy 4 controllers AND 4 extentions just to play Smash Bros. Thats lame. Im such a Smash Bros addict that ill end up buying it though.

Im honestly dont care whos gonna be in it. Im not even gonna speculate, just gonna let them suprise me. So as long as Marios in it Im happy. Mario is my Smasher 4 life.

Oh speaking of all these off the wall addition. Does anyone remember when Gamepro pulled that april fools joke telling people they could unlock Sonic and Tails if they lasted for 15 minutes in endless Melee? I believed that, and I succeeded, and didnt get jack

I think you're getting confused there. EGM pulled an april fool's just saying oyu could unlock Sonic & Tails by killing 20 wireframes in Cruel Melee. I did it with Roy, too

Oh yeah that was it, I remember it was something hard to do. Wasnt there something you unlocked for lasting a long while in Endless?

Anyways after I found out it wasnt true I looked at the pics they showed in the magazine and it was so obvious they were fake.

Err as far as i was aware the analogue stick extension to the remote controller is gonna be bundled with it for free. Considering its most likely gonna be a must for many games i can't see Nintendo charging extra for it. I imagine the same is true of the classic controller shell nintendo still havent revealed.

My theory for the controller is that games where characters have to move will always be a anologue stick thing but when it comes to aiming itll be the wand. If they have games where you walk wagging the remote wand it'd be like trying to do the same with a PC Mouse.

OKAY. I somehow when knowing what I was talking about in the first place got confused with an entirely different NES racing game mid thought. You were right about the bike guy! But the alternate music is definatly there, and its worth a listen to

I really care about adding characters, because Melee would not be nearly as good a sequel if they didn't add any characters.

Melee is a fighting game, and good fighting games swell up their rosters with new characters, and since SSB games are tributes to Nintendo, it's nice to add new characters.

I'm sure they'll surprise us, just like they did with Melee.

I'm not so sure about a shell being packed in the box, but we'll see.

People keep forgetting that GCN controllers will still plug in--potentially, we could use standard GCN controllers with the Rev.

But I thought about it, and it would be REALLY nice if we got a better Adventure mode. Imagine the possibilities of different things with the new controller.

I hope that at the GDC Iwata reveals a trailer of this game--don't put it past him, he did it with Twilight Princess at the last GDC.

They could do what they did with TP--release a trailer for SSB3 at the GDC, then open a demo at E3. I think it would be a good idea, and it would no doubt hype people up for E3 so they're looking forward to what Nintendo has to show.

Heh, yeah. The Adventure mode on Melee felt kinda incomplete, to be honest. It was like, three or four crazy stages, and the rest was just themed fights that were always the same. Like Classic mode on the original SSB. =o

I am sure they'll add characters. I'm not so sure they'll keep all the Melee characters, though. They'll piss off someone if they remove any character, but if they keep all of those and add more that would be... a hell of a lot of characters.

I guess lots of characters doesn't hurt, though, so long as they don't spread their resources too thinly.

Adventure Mode was lacking, yeah... It'd be cool if it was different for every character... And had a different end boss for every character. It'll never happen, but it'd be cool.

Oh!! And would it kill them to do the right Luigi voice for once? ._.;; It's by the same person as Mario, they can just have him do it instead of making Luigi sound like Mario in BOTH GAMES. It always got to me .__.;;

It isn't bad, but its inconsistant with the real Luigi voice. For his real voice...see Mario Kart 64, the Mario Advance games, Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, Luigi's Mansion...see a pattern? And then SSB/M and Mario Party had to go and be inconsistant D:

Yeah, I like the music in Mach Rider too. I didn´t know that there were two NES games with the same name, though.

I kinda like Luigi's voice better in MK64, MKDS, yeah, those games Yoro listed, but it isn´t that bad in SSBM either.

They could remove Mr. Game & Watch. Everyone I know dislikes to use him.

Me and mates used to use Mr G&W only for comedy value...spoof battles. But the question is apart from his cute value who used Pichu? Surely he can be booted?

A-freaking-men. Mario Kart 64's Luigi voice kicked ass. I almost puked when I heard the Mario-like voice.
