"Don't look at me, I only sent you one."
"That means one of them is trying to cause me trouble by throwing me off. I'll investigatte them both."

And Schwa speeds off, no longer on the trail of Janus but of someone else. Sensae laughs again.

Janus sighs as the wind rushes through his hair... This really was quite pleasant, the surf and wind blowing through his hair, and at the rate they were moving it'd be only a short time until they reached the next town. NuBodia... It had a nice ring to it.

That blue ether, however... It worried him. He had noticed it surge outward when he had sped everything up. The fact that he was losing control of it suggested one of two things; that the ether was some kind of foreign being, growing beyond his capacity to hold it, like some kind of cancerous disease, or that it was integrating itself with him and becoming a permanent part of his powers... Janus didn't like that idea at all. The power, as he had noted before, was true and strong, but ultimately very empty... The power of a Psi Warrior required souls as a symbiote, which Janus had very little to show for.

Janus glanced over at Yiusi as he strove to hide a look of distress on his face. The Aether... The Ether, the Psi, and the Life Aspects... What did they mean to someone who was already dead? If the power kept growing, without a true soul Janus might never be able to feed it. He feared... He feared that it might destroy him in all its righteous power.

And Yiusi, who had already after only knowing him for such a short time shown that she thought he was a good man... She was involved with it all, as well. Could she destroy him, too?

He didn't want to think about it right now, and instead he concentrated on enjoying the moment. Would be a good time to strike up some conversation... The surf would be a little muffling, but if he shouted out, it'd be fairly easy for her to hear him.

Janus: "So, Yiusi, you like music?"

His voice echoed over the ocean, in the windy sea air it was carried far...

....A little too far...

OOC: Received PM. You don't mind if I start out a little rusty, I hope...

Yiusi pauses before answering.

"I don't listen to it often, actually. Sometimes I stop at a town festival or two to hear some, but that's about it... NuBodia is coming up in the distance."

Sure enough, a city is visible in the distance. The buildings are interesting... Some of them are the typical skyscraper, while some of them have square bases that change into triangular prisms. Half the buildings are an emerald green.

Janus: "Probably not. We're moving pretty fast, and we'll have to take advantage of that fact if we're gonna make it to NuBodia!"

Rijju blazed forward as Janus recalled what little he knew about NuBodia...

"Let's see... NuBodia... Ah! I remember something!

NuBodia is run by two separate cultures; The Nulians and the Bodites, hence the name NuBodia... Each has a different system of belief (The Nulians are particularly known for their belief in the Oracles, and have a much less traditional architectural style, hence the tall, prism-like buildings), different economy, different cultural tastes, even different festivals! The catch, of course, lies in their symbiosis;

The Bodites and Nulians insist upon never breeding with their own kind: Each thinks they are utterly physically repulsive! Add that to the fact that the Bodites are predominantly male and the Nulians are predominantly female, and you have a pair of races that are more or less forced to interbreed in order to survive. The resulting offspring is always classified and raised as either a Nulian or a Bodite, and is tossed, for some strange reason, into the culture and lifestyle of their designated race. Simply for the sake of continuity, and the fact that long ago someone just decided who the races would be, most males of the offspring are designated as Bodite and most females are Nulian. Oddities do occur, which explains the revulsion felt by most members of the same race (it's not that they're physically unattractive, it's just that nobody really likes breaking tradition around here), but for the most part it's Nulian = Female and Bodite = Male."

Janus winked at Yiusi...

"Apparently, there aren't any racial minorities. If you ask me, I say it's poppycock, I can't tell the difference between them! Other than gender, that is..."
