LONG STORY INCOMING Back when I was an internoob, I was at the website for Foxtrot (the newspaper strip). Bill Amend linked to Joe the Circle for some reason (not sure what's going on there now, it hasn't been updated for years so I don't know what this 2.0 crap is all about). Joe was fun. The Joe the Circle message board was my first message board evar. Someone posted a User Friendly strip on the board, and I was all "LOL I FALLOW INTERLINK" I read User Friendly for about a month (shame). At that point it had a weird pseudo message board kind of thing going on where there was a thread on each daily strip. The subject of "what webcomics do you read" came up a lot. I never paid those posts much mind, but so many people mentioned Sluggy Freelance that I decided to check it out. Wellll I read that for quite a while. Haven't followed it in the last few years, so I have no idea where it's at now. Can't really say much about it. But Sluggy was not officially affiliated but closely tied with Keenspot, and along with that, Keenspace. This is where it gets hard to track. I read fuck-tons of these things for way too long. Somehow my list of "frequently visited webcomics" ended up being about 30 comics wide, with one or two outside of the Keens and those already mentioned. One of these outsider comics was Bob and George. Again, haven't looked at that one in years. Don't know what one could expect going to it now. Well I got involved somewhat in the Bob and George scene. I had a "fancomic" and yadda yadda. I'm not getting into that now. Anyway, there was a side thing called Bob and George Big Brother, which I guess was some shitty sprite comic incarnation of the TV show. (Incidentally, though BnGBB as it was called was pretty terrible, the guy who ran it, Stobbit, was a cool guy. I haven't talked to him in a while though.) Anyway, the board was pretty weak (though I was still a punknoob at the time, so I was only vaguely aware of this) but I stuck around because SOMEONE going under the name of "Mega Gau" was being an awesome. Together we tore that place up (merely by being cooler than everyone else). Then Mega Gau went HEY LOOK AT THIS BOARD COME TO THIS PLACE BUT THE NAME COLIN IS ALREADY TAKEN (paraphrasing, this was a long time ago and I don't think there were caps involved (also I was using the name Colin on the BnGBB board)) so I was like OKAY WELL I HAVE THIS OTHER NAME I USED WHEN I FIRST LOGGED ON THE INTERWEB FOR THE FIRST TIME and then I registered at the board Mega Gau had linked to. And that board was..! Ahahaha I'll leave you suckers in suspense. |

I was on Neopets in my first year of teh internets. After that, I found Eskimo Bob and frequented the small WWWBoard that Tomas and Alan often posted on (Those guys were awesome; they even autographed my Eskimo Bob tape because they sent it to me late).
I have to admit, the Eskimo Bob community was the first one I was at, and that's where I developed, finally growing from a little child into a pre-teen girl that's finally geting boobies and periods. But I digress, those guys were awesome. Hell, Dwedit was there too. From there, I actually frequented the IRC channel for Eskimo Bob, and still visit it from time to time. That's where those guys got me into something cool: Rom Hacks and hacking. I was excited to hear of this amazing conception that I peed my pants in excitement, eager to find out more. Some hacks were on The Spoony Bard (Eskimo Bob's parent site), but after those, I needed more. That's when I found Acmlm's Rom Hack Domain. It had Challenge Hacks that other people made and the Strange Mario Bros. series. The place was so cool that I had to investigate further. I clicked on "Message Board". the board that I saw was unlike the others I'd seen. It wasn't PHPBB, VBB, or even an EZBoard. No, it was unique. I quickly registered under my tag I had used since I started my net journey (moo117), and asked some questions about Lunar Magic ("How do i edit the message boxes in SMW?"). That was on July 7, 2001. After that, I became an active member, and was there for a good deal of the major events, including AE, OUTLAW X, the 2003 crisis, and an eventual name change to Cymoro (Which I don't regret in the slightest). I was even an administrator on Eponick's board, which was one of the more active Acmlmboards before Epo's server got fried. I've also set up a base of operations over at PA, which I visited during my sprind absence in 2003 (If I'm not here, it's spring). The guys in G&T are awesome, and they're always people to play with there (unlike here where the ratio of WoW players to CoH players is 53:2). There's my net history. Don't you love it? |

About three years ago I was on ZBattle playing some SNES games, and I saw one game called "SMW3+: The New Home" and I joined quickly. I played it with the person and was lik, WHAT IS THIS? He said a Rom Hack, and he knew the creator. I then met, Strop. Also known as, Golden Yoshi, AKA Trinity.
We talked, and after about a few months of me finally beating SMW3+ and talking to him, we became basically best "internet" friends. Anyways, after that, he showed me acmlm.overclocked.org/board/, and man oh man, thats what started it all. I made a few SMW hacks, had some fun, got to know EVERYONE, and I am still here today... And to think..ZBattle has only TWO player spots. If I had never joined fast enough, I may never be here.... PS: You may not see this Trinity, but thanks so much for bringing me to this vast community and teaching me all you know. --Sorry I had to say that everyone. Just felt it was right |
