So, I had the idea that all of us brainy, trivia-packed Acmlmers could do the Sunday crossword every week together. Some rules: 1) A new puzzle will be posted every Sunday morning in a new thread. 2) No searching the internet or asking non-Acmlmers for answers. The only resources available to us are our own brains. 3) Just so this doesn't get confusing, only one post per day. Answers will be edited into the first post for convenience. 4) Answers that are contested will be marked with a question mark, with suggestions posted until such time that it becomes clear that only one answer is possible. 5) I'm not keeping score 'cause that seems like it would cause headaches. Not to mention I have the unfair advantage of having first crack at the clues. 6) Of course, one reserves the right to add more rules should they become necessary during play. Well then, let's get started, yes?

50 Across is either PLATA or PLATO, which is spanish for silver. It could be either ending though. | ||||
