I doubt it. Lots of characters already have moves that are different on the ground than in the air (e.g. Falcon's and Gannondorf's down-B, Kirby's hammer)

But yeah, putting in a whole new type of move along with a super meter would change the game quite a bit. It's possible they'll do something drastic, but I doubt it would be that...

Technically, for many/most video game anime series I've seen/heard of, the voices in the japanese version are the same as the ones in the games. I think Kirby is the same, though Air Ride had no voices at all so they may be trying to get rid of voices in the games, but a small part of SSB/M was it's first voices for characters like Ness and the like.

oh for christ's sake how did I miss... I mean I quoted from the SAME POST...

I was thinking that some of the AW COs, if put in, could have some specials as their CO powers. Eagle could boost forward with a punch or something with >B (Lightning Drive) and smash >B would go farther and be stronger (Lightning Strike) or something.

I am REALLY wondering how this game will turn out. Nintendo knows how much is riding on it--it has to be good, because it's what will be selling Rev.'s at launch, but even if it's released in November, it will still have only been in production for about a year, maybe a year and a half (from what I understand). That worried me, but they ARE using Melee as a base to build on.

I'm honestly not concerned with the controls at this point. Nintendo has never failed me on controls.

I want to know about characters more than anything.
Gimme Lyndis and Hector from Fire Emblem.
Or Isaac and Jenna from Golden Sun.

I'd die. A lot. I'd so die with joy. I wanna see characters like that.
I would really like to see any of those four, as they're newer characters that I really took a liking to. And Golden Sun is a relatively recent Nintendo property, and you could do some cool stuff with them in SSB.

I'm also figuring that they'll alter Link/Zelda with whatever is in store with Twilight Princess. They've GOTTA pay homage to that game in some way or another.

And here's hoping for Malon, but that's just random and silly.

And anime voices are being used more in games now. Take Sonic Riders, for example. I'd rather have voices consistent from an anime than different in each game.

That reminds me. Whether or not they leave the current Gannondorf in, they should totally put in the Wind Waker Gannondorf with the cel shading and the duel wielding.

Yea, Ganondorf from WW would be amusing.

I would want to see a WW stage, honestly. It would look really cool. They could even alter some of rhe effects, like Bob-Omb explosions, and have them look WW style.

Or, ya know, Nintendo promised they're working on an new series, so maybe they'll throw in a new character we know nothing about yet! That would be interesting.

They sort of did that with the US version of SSBM. Nobody knew who Marth and Roy were, but Fire Emblem became popular, and look where it is now.

an arena or two that's totally enclosed, and requires some other way to get a knock out (lava, spikes, classic Mario Bros. Fireball, etc).

The original SSB had something like this if you used Gameshark. You could play on the Race To The Finish stage in VS mode, and it would keep going as long as player 1 never got to the end (which wasn't actually that hard to avoid). There was no way to get knocked out, but eventually players would just randomly die for no apparent reason. (Maybe getting so much damage they fly too fast for the collision detection to work and go through the walls.)

Finally, what would kick ass is a Mario Kart/Smash Bros hybrid. Basically Mario Kart but with wackier tracks based on various games, characters from other games instead of all Mario characters (does anyone even play as DK?) and crazier items, some of them character-specific like in Double Dash.

But I'm also really hoping Nintendo gives us the option of playing with the Rev. and using a more standard layout.

Depending on how the game is designed, they could do both. But if it's really a Revolution title to show what it can do, it'll be a game you can only really play with the Rev. controller, and it'll play well, too.

Also, they need a refined online system. One where we can have a buddy list, etc. And search for rooms, and stuf. None of this randomized, Friend Code bull. It's OK for Mario Kart on DS, but not for SSB on Rev.

If Nintendo can pull that off on day one, they'll be in a good starting position.

Im a huge Smash Bros. fan but I cant get over how lame its gonna be playing it with the Rev. Controller. Thats not to say I wont buy it, I most likely will sooner or later. How could i resist with online play?! but I really wanna see how this thing is gonna work.

Also Diddy Kong better be in it!
