I like the All-Stars version better, too. There's more music, better graphics, better music, and the resolution is higher so the control is tighter. The only thing the original SMB has over the new one is the Minus World and the way the music sounds. Hmm.
Also, the ability to save. I really don't think I could beat The Lost Levels without that. Yow. |

The NES one is for the hardcore people who don't need savepoints.

Obviously SNES SMB looks and sounds better. What kind of poll is this?

The NES version has way more fun glitches, and the main differences between the two are rather superficial... So, I voted NES version.

Minus World. 'Nuff Said. and, you can hack it easier, too. |

people are using glitches as a reason a game is better? Well, to each his own, I suppose, but...
SMAS gets my vote, no questions asked. The only NES/SNES comparison that I personally would find understandable is SMB3; with the instrument changes, some of the music (most noticebly world 7) sounds different, so if you're picky about that sort of thing... even there, though, the SNES version is better, in my opinion. |

The only thing Graphics-wise NES SMB has going for it is the clint-eastwood idle stance as big Mario. Awesome and an icon throughout the gaming industry.
Riku Sledge Brother Unpredictable. Watch your backs. Or not. Whichever. I want Metal Gear Solid 4 so badly. Since: 11-17-05 From: Tompkinsville Last post: 6431 days Last view: 6431 days |

All-Stars fucked up how Mario breaks bricks, with him going several pixels into them. That problem alone made me hate All-Stars with a passion.
The Nes version is better, and I find the controls in the original tighter myself, and the sound effects for like, stomping Goombas is more satisfying. |

SNES simply because you get more Mario for your money.
Kinda like going to a stripclub with $50 or taking a beautiful woman out to dinner and getting laid for $50. |

The better sound and graphics make SMAS SMB the clear-cut winner.

The NES version. The SNES version is good as well, but I have more memories of the NES version. Plus it just doesn't feel the same to play it on the SNES.
