...I'm sure he does, but I've gotten a few results that don't fit into the categories that he placed the items in.

There's probably a small chance of getting some items in different categories but I'd be damned if I could figure out the math. I do know that only six items (Green + Triple Green, Banana + Triple Banana, Fake Item and Bob-Omb) are available in first though. That's obvious after playing for so bloody long.

Yeah. Basically, this would be more accurate:

Note that the lower on the list something is, the rarer it is.

Category 1
Banana
Green Shell
Fake Item Box
Triple Banana
Triple Green Shell
Bob-Omb

Category 2
Mushroom
Red Shell
Blooper
Triple Mushroom
Triple Red Shell

Category 3
Blue Shell
Star
Boo

Category 4
Golden Mushroom
Lightning Bolt

Category 5
Bullet Bill

I'm not sure about much of this; bare with me.

In an 8-way race...

Category 1 items are 1-5th place items.
Category 2 items are 2-8th place items.
Category 3 items are 4-8th place items.
Category 4 items are 6-8th place items.
Category 5 items are 7-8th place items.

In a 4-way race...
Category 1 items are 1-3rd place items.
Category 2 items are 2-4th place items.
Category 3 items are 3-4th place items.
Category 4 items are 3-4th place items.
Category 5 items are 4th place items.

In a 3-way race...
Category 1 items are 1-3rd place items.
Category 2 items are 2-3rd place items.
Category 3 items are 2-3rd place items.
Category 4 items are 3rd place items.
Category 5 items do not appear.

In a 2-way race...
Category 1 items are 1-2nd place items.
Category 2 items are 2nd place items.
Category 3 items are 2nd place items.
Category 4 items do not appear.
Category 5 items do not appear.

I find it funny how badly AI's are affected by the blooper... compared to regular players that's it. If I happen to get behind in a AI match, and someone uses blooper and hits me... I can usually make alot of progress. xD

And meh, I remember a very negative review for MK64. Written by someone who was apparently very frustated with the game. xD Complained that only people at the last places getting items... probably kept getting owned or something since part of the strategy is coping with the items.

Also, is it just me or is the game not as harsh as the previous ones when it comes to "getting hit" by stuff. I swear I recover alot faster from attacks in this game than the previous ones.

It also helps when you use characters with cars that has a very high acceleration.

Like Dry Bones in Dry Bomber.

If there was no map screen, then you'd be affected by Blooper for sure. I just switch gazes for 10 seconds and then go back to the main screen.

I donīt switch screens that much when I get hit by Blooper. I havenīt done that much as I didnīt have any serious problems with it.

I have hit the wall or something else a few times but it was nothing major.

Yeah, I really don't have much trouble just looking at the places where it isn't on the top screen. It'd be more of an annoyance if boosting didn't get rid of it early.

That car's snaking.. XD
I can finaly do it.. but.. I'm penalised trying it. If I do two races in a row in pure snaking.. My thumb will lock, I'm a double-jointed freak.

Guess I'll give out my code. BOB: 073-078-063-760. I go online rarely. The only hotspot I have is McD on a highway. I don't a lot of fast food so don't expect me to be online just like that.

I suck at MKDS. (One loss was due to my DS shitting out RIGHT BEFORE A RACE )

I also have the same case as Bob, here.

How long should it take for the DS to find opponents in the "Friends" list in MKDS?

I let mine be for a couple of minutes but it didnīt find anyone.

Check to see if there's a blue icon on the bottom of the screen. If there is, then a friend's online and looking for an opponent. You could also try to initiate it yourself, but if you don't get an answer then you know nobody's online.

I just played some of my first Wi-Fi matches and... ARGH!! They're so cheap!! Almost 80% of them use Yoshi + Egg kart. And they all use that annoying repeated boost thing.

I even raced Biohazard.

Here's my code thing if anyone wants to race me:

249172
140115
Zem
Permabanned. Flaming, trolling, reregistering.

Peh.. I would agree with Peardian here. I can snake, but I don't like 100% snakers. That's why I try to get Rainbow Road against a snaker - Since they are easier to defeat there.

Rainbow Road is only difficult to snake if you're really bad. Certainly, you can't snake the entire time, but there are many points where you can throughout the course.

I have raced more and would like to mention some people:

People I admire (no snaking, good racer):
-chillz
-duuman

I raced a really odd person from Chile. Name's gatoyoshi. Emblem was a Chilean flag. Used Yoshi + Poltergust 4000. The kart rocketed around so much it was insane. Left, right, backwards, forward, up... it was going everywhere. One time he hit a wall and kept going against, spazzing back and forth randomly. Apparently used snaking. Ever race him?

Sounds more like horrendous lag than anything else.

Also I do not like the way you state your opinion as to snaking being cheap as if it were the word of god... Snaking is officially endorsed by Nintendo as a legitimate tactic...
