This is my third hack. The other two... not good.
I'd just like to know what you think of my graphics and stuff. By me. (Duh) Title. First map: Mushroom Kingdom. You can't accually reach Bowser, though. As shown here. First level. Not really a part of the level, just an example my own GFX I made. A new message block and castel coins. New POW button. Instead of 1-UP, it's "LUCKY" So what do you think? |

Your overworld looks like it was designed by an architect. Add some curves and dips so it's not a box.
I like the Switch palace boxes. A lot. Keep that up. Lucky instead of 1up? Blarrgh. What would you do for a 3up? Super lucky? If you're going to keep lucky, don't make it brown. Make it red, or something that's not brown. From what I can tell from the screen shots, the level design is good. Maybe a bit too difficult for the first few levels, but it's fine. |

Looks fine. I dont like the title it semms like garbled mess. This semms interresting like the left is a intro world. In other words i really like it. Very plain. A little plain a little interresting. Looks nice. The message block is good but the coins are mediocre. Looks nice here to. Nice change. All in all Square overworld and a little plain level desing in the fifth shoot. Other than that good. I'll will be looking out for this hack. |

Actually it is red, it's just the black backround.
And I guess it is really square, I'll fix it up. The first levls aren't actually hard, even that part with the goombas and the cannon. It's just looks hard. EDIT: Eh, more protection. (At least it's something to look at.) (edited by SecretGlitch on 01-22-06 12:17 PM) |

Acctually i think that made it worse. You could try to make a tower where you can see koppas and gommbas in window like holes and some enemies at the top. | |||

1. Good (but aren't all intro screens?)
2. Why does this look familiar? 3. Heh, not bad. It could be de-squared, but other than that, cool. Gotta love your using flipped bridge tiles as a watergate. 4 (the most recent version). There should be a way to fix the BG. Looks all right otherwise. 5. I like it. Interesting level design. 6. Meh. 7. Good. 8 & 9. The level itself is good, and the change is a nice difference as well. |

Well done man. This, somehow, inspires me to take up the arts of making custom things. No offense, but these aren't the kind of graphics that simply discourage me, they make me think "You know what? SG Presents looks alright but probably better without the dashes, with SG centered. Title screen is awful hard to read with those colours (try a different background) and the border being aroud 'Mario' and not the rest looks rather bad. Overworld looks good, but I wonder if it'd look better without even the dark paths being there until you get to them? Tower is quite nice but would be even better if it had smaller windows... lemme edit the pic real quick to explain.
See how it looks like an actual window, and you can see the Koopa's head? (You'd use layer priority for this.) Also I assume you're using layer 2, hence the missing background. You could put a simple static one on layer 2 if it doesn't move. It all looks pretty nice though. I like those smooth grey blocks in the castle. |

Actually there is a bg, but it ran away...
I wish I could do that window thing, but the other half of the window is glitched, there are weird glowing things on them. o.o And I'll fix the title. Yellow switch palace. The wooden blocks with a coin between them go up and down so it's not easy getting all 5 mushrooms. |

With the latest screenshot, you need to add a background. Making the palace Yellow wouldn't hurt either, but it's not important. Keep in mind that the expanding/contracting blocks are not solid for sprites. The mushrooms will fall right through. And if you have glowing things on your tiles, don't use Palette 6. Ah. I thought you used sprite 59. That works too, though. However, having a background is still important. Try putting it on layer 1, but be sure that everything looks right. | |||
