I just started SMW hacking a couple weeks ago with Lunar Magic. I haven't gotten to changing the appearance of anything at all, or changing the overworld, or making my own backgrounds -- all I've done so far is go into the levels, delete all the sprites, objects and exits, and remake the level. I like where my hack is going, but I want to make it a masterpiece. And of course, as a n00b, a few things stand in my way.
I'd like to design my own overworld, but I'm clueless when I try to use the overworld editor. I don't want to ask you all my questions - I'd be here all day - so is there something like a "Complete Idiot's Guide to Overworld Editing" somewhere that I could use? All my other issues are pretty minor, and I can figure them out for myself. So if somebody could post a link to a complete guide to overworld editing, I would appreciate it very much. |

While reading that guide myself, I noticed something:
In Lunar Magic 1.63, you can move mario's starting position on the OW. |
