So two people here have bugs in their DSes? I figured as an isolated case it was safely ignorable, but this is just weird.

Eh. Perhaps something laid eggs in the assembly line and a few got packaged into DSes. I reeeeally doubt it's anything worth worrying about.

If it doesn't affect gameplay, then...
I'd be more concerned if I opened my DS box and it HAD bugs in the box itself. Then Nintendo would be getting a very nice phone call, to say the least. |

I've never had my fingerslip, nor the power go off for any reason other than the fact i forgot to charge it once As for the carts, my metroid prime demo, has been kicked, dropped, thrown, and left lying out in the sun and it works as if it was new.
The only problem i have with the DS is the duel screens :p. Yes that may sound kinda stupid but i find the switching between the 2 screens really disorientating and stupid. It would have been far better to just have one large screen rather than one small useful screen and a touch screen that really could have been left off the dam thing >.< I mean the touch screen crap is novel but so dam useless. And the gap between the 2 screens in games like sonic rush is a real pain in the arse. |

Karadur: I, as well, have a bug in my DS. You and Sonicandtails obviously didn't read the manual closely enough. Page 24 clearly states, "Please do not bury your DS under dirt, be it naturally occuring or potting soil. This is not a safe way to store your system." |

Aw, so much for that DS tree I planted.
I've heard of bugs getting inside a GBA, through the headphone jack. In a DS, though... The jack on it has a metal plate at the back. I can't see how it would get in. |

Like I said, I figured they'd have been packed in.

Maybe it's a new game, called Pokébug. The object is to poke the bug behind your screen hard enough to kill it, but not so hard as to damage the system. If you make the motions and write the letters for "UUDDLRLRBASt" the bugs you've destroyed will be flushed out. Coming to a DS near you, whenever you leave it lying on top of an ant hill for two days.

... No, we're not doing that. And if anyone suggests it again, I'll punch them with a hammer.

The microphone sucks..
If you press hard enough on the touch screen there is odd coloring(I wasn't trying... >.<) certain games (Nintendogs is one) can lag at points >.> |

LCD screens will do that...but the touch screen, you need to hit it pretty hard to do that. I'd be a little more careful with my DS if I were you

I never said that
There's nothing wrong with the Microphone. If it's such a problem, wait for the official headset to come out or make your own And if you're going to say the Microphone sucks, you should atleast back up your complaint with the facts. |

Here is another thing I don't know why I didn't mention earlier.
I used the wrist strap thumb nubbin thing to play Mario 64, and it scratched up my touch screen something awful. Seriously. It doesn't impair visibility, but, well, it's scratched. They stylus works fine (though it rubs over the scratches) but I don't want to use the thumb nubbin thing anymore. (cry more nubbin) Yes, so, did anyone else use that thing? Did it do that? Because I don't think my touch screen was different than anyone else's, nor my thumb nubbin more hardcore, or anything. |

You did put the plastic thing between your thumb and the screen, right?

Originally posted by Celice Ok, here are some facts When playing Nintendogs, sometimes things that sound really different are recorded sounding the same. Maybe it is a flaw in the game, but I haven't tried another DS game that uses the microphone like that yet... |

Originally posted by Apofisu What, you think I scratched it with my soft fleshy thumb??? Nah, I was using the plastic thing. The plastic thing is what did the scratching. I'm not a robot, and if I am, YOU don't know that. |
