I'd say that it's the best damn game I've ever had. Really I like most is the Playstation Portion of Megaman X3. I have the SNES Version of Megaman X3 but the music changes in the game kick ass.

MMX3 is the only game on MMX collection I didn't have (Other than the racing game I havn't unlocked yet). What was the music like on the old one?

P.S. This game is really good even though I had most of them. It's fun going back to play the games sense they're all on 1 disk now.

Think they remodled all the stage music from the SNES version of the game. The old music in MMX3 for SNES is just that plain or regular lyrics. If you beat MMX3 there's a gallery where you play Sigma's final music here. Not to mention the graphics and new fancy animation as well. I don't have Playstation but I know the diiferences between the SNES and Playstation version of MMX3.

If I read correctly, only 1 and 2 are SNES ports. They used the little known 32-bit version of 3 for the collection, although there aren't any huge graphical changes.

I never knew there was a MMX3 for PS. Before I knew MMX Collection was coming out I used to go everywhere to look for a copy of MMX3.

After doing a check, it is the PS1 version. That just means that the remixed songs are used instead of the SNES originals and there's a few anime cutscenes. Nothing really major.

I've kinda noticed they changed some text in MMX1 for MMXC for some reason. I've figured they didn't remove the Password glitches in MMX1.

The glitch where you get all items in the highway level.

EDIT: Removerd site due to the don't rule #15.

I saw this for PS2 and Gamecube. I already know I am going to get it because one of the first Megaman games I played was X, so I would like to play the ones I never got a chance to play (X4-6, actually).

I just don't know which controller seems better for the collection: PS2 or Gamecube?

Say what now? I just rented the game and all six games are available -- there's no "unlocking" involved.

I don't have Playstation but I know the diiferences between the SNES and Playstation version of MMX3.

1) The music changes are godawful and furthermore, sacrilidge -- heathen!
2) What "lyrics?" None of the SNES Megaman games - X or otherwise - had music with lyrics.
3) There is no graphical difference between MMX3 on SNES and MMX3 on PS1 -- they didn't update the graphics.

I played the first three X games on SNES and they were really tough -- even playing as Zero, the games have become really easy from X4 onward. I still like them, the gameplay is solid, but I feel that the musical and graphical turn they took was for the worse. The first three games had a really magical feel to them, for me, but the next three (I haven't played 7/8 yet) didn't have it at all. I think the change from the tough, angular character models of the first three games to the highly-rounded, anime-inspired look of the next three was a major blunder, it's a real turnoff. The soundtracks also diminished considerably -- MMX/2/3 had an awesome techno/laser/rock fusion going for them, X4/5/6 just felt...ordinary. I mean, I still like 'em but...I just don't know...I just don't know if I like the direction Capcom as a company has gone in general since the SNES days...

Well, considering that you'll spend an awful lot of time simultaneously holding in three buttons (dash, jump and shot/sword) you've got to think -- were you easily able to hold those three buttons in on the SNES controller? If so, go with PS2 because it's controller is virtually a clone of the SNES controller. If the buttons are too spread out, go for the GC version -- your thumb should easily fit over B, A and Y simultaneously...

...or, you could always do what the pros did and assign jump and shot to shoulder buttons...

I've only picked up the PS2 version, but I will assume it's a better choice. Due to PS2's controller if nothing else. Most of these games were originally designed for it. I'd like to know what's been cut on Gamecube, this disc is about a GB larger than that system allows. I did find something like "packet size too large" written in one file, probably leftover. Except that it was right below the game selection/saving interface text.

Just to avoid a minor new thread, does anyone know the unlocking method for Xbox MMAC's hidden features? I can't seem to find info on any FAQ sites.

And this is why people call you an idiot, SamuraiX. There's a seventh game hidden, an originally-unreleased (in the US) kart racer-type of game. To earn it, last I checked, the three SNES MMX games had to be beaten.

theclaw: I dunno about Xbox, but on the Gamecube version it was just a matter of beating 4/all robot masters and/or defeating Wily in each game.

There is a racing game (the empty space space beside MMX6)that you have to unlock.

I think Kutske thought Andy said MMX3 is not readily accessible on the MM collection and not that he never got the game when it was out for the original console.

Samurai X? Is that who you think I am? Examine my profile a little closer, or read Deuteronomy 19:6 Anyway, he said that MMX3 was the only one on the collection that he "didn't have," implying that he somehow needed to "unlock" MMX3, which isn't the case. Also, the first time I played MMXC, the racing game was already there, so I wasn't aware it needed to be unlocked. Someone else must've been using my memory card...

Yeah: for the original system. He never said he had to unlock it, he just never got the game for the SNES... that is what neotransotaku said...

I think I am going to go for the PS2 version though... mainly for the fact that I have owned the same five PS2 games for over a few months since I have had my PS2 (and I only play 2 of them...) and the controller does seem right for it.

Now I just need to wait to get money and I'll be enjoying this collection.

I'm not particularly happy with their decision to use the PS1 version of MMX3... I've played that in the collection and the SNES version, and though the only differences are sound, music, and cutscenes, they're very noticeable, and I much prefer the SNES version in all regards.

That aside, this collection does a superb job of reminding me just how much I suck at these games. =/ Still pretty enjoyable, though. Well... most of the collection...

To be fair, they probably wanted to use it because of the cutscenes and all that. In their mind, it was probably the "best" version.

I dunno about everyone else, but the last thing I think of when I think "Megaman X" is cutscenes. Far above it are blowing shit up, getting blown up, the music, and Zero always being cooler than Megaman. But at least they kept 1, 2, and 4.

Same here, I'm terribly unfond of the anime cutscenes they've interjected in more recent Megaman games. I also dislike in X5 how Alia chimes in every ninety seconds to update me on my own progress in the level -- I like having to figure things out on my own. I guess we'll have to wait and see how they handle ZX...
