Do all of you guys know how to read Japanese then? I don't know a word/letter/character of it. It doesn't affect the gameplay obviously, but I would like to know the level names and such.

Also, the graphics aren't bad in my opinion. It's not like mine; which uses a mix of ExGFX workshop GFX, Original GFX, and small amounts of my own GFX. Basically, the graphics have got to be worse in mine

I've only made it to the cave world - One thing I never liked was how extremely linear the SMWR series is. Very few secret exits. I like secrets myself, but that's just me.

EDIT: Forgot a very simple grammatical pattern, making me sound like a caveman

Why, thank you for explaining your opinions! Especially like how you called the graphics 'crap' when they look like every other goddamn hack on the planet (yet you all praise "yay! another hack that uses the now-overused YI2 and SMAS graphics!" hacks).

Actually Xkeeper, I believe that pseudo-3D graphics are the new type of graphics that everybody seems to love. YI and SMAS graphics are pretty much standardized, and yet are somehow still in the "WOW! AMAZING!" section. Things from obscure games seem to be popular as well, but if it's custom-made or from a semi-popular game, it usually is looked down upon for some stupid reason. And this hack uses YI and SMAS graphics a lot, and it is being shunned for bad graphics. Ridiculous, isn't it?

Sure looks like it, now that you mention it. I remember the exact same thing being used in the Hot Springs in SMO. The poison effect is used during the Wendy Boss Battle, I believe. That was an interesting fight. By the way, while we're on the subject of the poison ASM hack, have you ever publicly released this? I wish to use a variation of it in one of the levels in my hack. If you care to know, without going into too much detail, the level will have you navigating a poisonous gas maze, sort of like that section of Hazy Maze Cave in SM64.

No, and that's why this bothers me. He used both my graphics and my ASM code, without so much as asking me, or giving credit anywhere (unless it's in the end credits).

kind of OK does not mean great.

This needs to end somehow, so I have to tell you this. You've been getting the use of "sorta" and "kinda" all wrong in your reviews of hacks.

kinda/sorta/OK means not that great but still alright. Please remember this.

I suppose you have a point there, better put I hate the Mario land style FG's cause those were designed for game boy, games of a smaller resolution, and the palette does stand out a bit to much for my liking, the caves look fairly cool though...
Now as for the post being made so short, I needed to get off the computer, cause we remain *sigh* the only family I know that still uses dial-up. As for my hack, I do plan to try to use some varying graphics, as I myself do get somewhat tired of the now standard graphics changes found in nearly every hack made nowadays...

Sorry for the little bump on this thread, but...

GFX : good and original at times.

Level design : Great

ASM : Kick-ass

OW: Well, the over all OW design is good. but events.... are crap. there are many places where paths do not connect properly and on top of that, levels with two ways out are YELLOW. WTF!? I can't find any secret exits I know are there. anyone have a walkthrough or any idea on how to get to the lower floor of the cave or the dessert?
