I never really found it a problem, considering I've never had a real reason to download a lot of things. I tended to just go play a videogame when I did. (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 01-07-06 06:35 PM) |

Iīve only downloaded vg music and roms on our 56k connection. Was long ago I did that, though. |

Only costs a lot if you don't have unlimited access.
For some reason, Europe doesn't like the words "56k" and "unlimited" paired together. |

Would have taken at least 6 hours if you didnīt do anything else than downloading that.
My biggest thing was probably a remix than was around 10mb. Other than that, I donīt know. |

The biggest thing Ive ever downloaded is a zip file with VG speed run videos in them...
700mb+. Thank the lord for broadband and 1000kb/sec download speeds... otherwise, that would have taken a lot longer than 1(1/2) hours |

I've only gone to about 120MB.
It was some long DDR course film that I just had to see. |

I've downloaded a lot of large things. It took me about 4 minutes to download a 320MB trial of Photoshop CS2 and about another 5 to install. The longest I've ever waited to download something was an episode of Family Guy which took over 3 hours and I had a fast connection and it was a T3 download, but there were very few host so that's why it took so long. I was just happy I got it though. | |||

Biggest I ever downloaded in my 56K days was 20 MB or something. Don't recall ever downloading something bigger than that.
You have to remember, Dial-up is a hefty pay per minute here. Broadband is actually cheaper most of the time. |

Ailure: I thought theyīd know this by now because it has been metnioned before, on several occasions. I believe that we could pause our downloads when we disconnected and continue downloading the next day so we might have downloaded bigger files than I mentioned. |
