So anyway. I'm bored, and am thus taking open challenges.

IM me or something.

Only do so if you want to lose, horribly.

I'm much more mortal of an opponent. XxShadicxX is my AIM, and minthras@hotmail.com is my MSN. Feel free to message me on either, or to PM me.

Stylish Alastor: You mentioned wanting a match of MKDS, and being mortal.
XxShadicxX: AH!

You can probably guess what happened after this

Also, my Time Trials times are now in my bio. Most of them after the first eight or so are just my first attempts, though.

You will never catch me snaking online. I just see it as a dirty way of winning. That's why I only play Friends matches.

Now, multiple boosts on a turn, I can understand. It's just natural for anyone to do. Also, snaking in Single Player is fine as far as I can see, since it's needed to triple-star some missions.

Edit: A more accurate description of my feelings on the matter:

Way not to explain that at all. Okay, you see it as dirty. Care to explain why?

Let's say you're brand new to an online game, a good example being Counter-Strike. You've heard from your friends that this is one of the beat-all games ever, it's nifty and neato!

You look at the list of servers that pop up when you search. You click on one, and then enter the game. As soon as you pick a side, you spawn. All of a sudden, you hear *click-click-click*, which is the faintsound of weapons being bought in the distance. Then boom, your head is taken off in one shot.

Someone hit you with an AWP. The fucker. Alright, that's fine, it cost a lot, if they die, they'll have to buy another, right?

As soon as you spawn, BOOM. Your head is taken off again. The icon that signifies you died in th upper right says another AWP killed you, but it says it was by another player! Son of a bitch, they all have AWPs. It's part of the game, though, right? That makes it fine?

Akin to playing on a private server where no one will use an AWP, I only play matches in Friends where no one will snake. I can easily do it (or buy an AWP in CS), but I'd rather not.

One problem here is that the gap between snaking and not snaking is much less well-defined than that between using the AWP and not.

It seems to be the case that most of the time, snaking well will provide a huge advantage and probably result in a win versus a non-snaker. That's annoying. And it makes sense that between friends you can set up conditions like "no snaking," sort of like in DOA you can say "no Jann Lee." But if you're playing in a heated competition with pseudo-strangers, you probably can't get a Jann Lee ban in effect. Similarly, this Mario Kart DS tournament is simply going to determine who, through luck and technique, can win several matches of Mario Kart DS. It's a tournament, not a friendly match with handicaps. So, I'm not going to complain about a devastating technique being used to kick ass.

Point is:
Is snaking cheap? That's a matter of opinion. It'll be legal in the tournament, and up to you and your friends in matches between you and your friends.

Legal or not, snaking makes my hands very tired after a few rounds of using it. Guess that it won't be much of a problem when i'm used to it still.

Now, I guess Zem's logic wins.

And it's not like I care about snaking or not. I don't do it often, and I still suck anyway

Can we quit talking of snaking? There's more in MKDS than snaking... And for the Block Fort glitch, you can only do it in multiplayer mode in MK64. When you start, you press and hold A to smash in your friend (the multiplayer is needed so the kart in front of you won't move), still hold A a little more and the opponent's kart will go right through the wall and fall in... in... a big black nothing and lose one balloon. If you're able to do it in MKDS... then... you can do it and I can't.

I can't snake. My red spark getting consistancy always seem random. I CAN multiboost a corner well enough. Just so long as it isn't one of those bad boosts I get.

I try snaking with every cart I come across, even if it get's my thumb tired.

And yes, it's harder with some than others. I just tried Dry bone with the banisher. While I still got gold, it's nothing to brag about considering it was 50cc. xD (I'm going to do 50cc and 100cc. I did take 150cc fine from the start... but I want to finish all engine classes)

How... is it random? I get it right perfectly... occasionally, I would think I would push the pad, but I don't...

Maybe that is what is wrong!

Well, I sort of improved on snaking... now I just need to improve using weapons...

Then there is no reason you should be screwing up.

And guys, I said it before, but I'm gonna say it again: Check out my time trial times in my bio.

Nonononono, I usually press left/right either way too quickly multiple times or I pull it off with a one-two type succession.

You got to have your character nudging to their far left or right in order to get a blue spark. I usually switch directions before they are leaning all the way.

(Very difficult to explain.)

Yeah... The quick succession is really what you're aiming for. It just requires practice to get it down, is all. Not terribly difficult. Not sure what you meant by that second line though.

And I beat the last of Katw's time trials.
