I'm actually making one this year! Its simple, tho. To lose ten pounds within 4 or 7 days. I have to wait until after the 1st, since I cannot have any booze or food on this diet.

Fun times!

Um..
-Keep my grades above a 90
-Perform with my band at Dock Street (Local venue).. we're recording right now
-Go to Vegas to be with the boyfriend

That sounds good [=

I accomplished my goals last year. Which were "Get my grades above a 90".. and "get alot better at guitar".. woo to the hoo.

I don't know, New Years Resolutions are something I make.. and at some point in the year I accomplish. But I usually accomplish them... so those are the ones I'm setting. Hooray [=..

I resolve to change the batteries in, and the head on, my toothbrush. I like to aim low.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I joined a gym and am lookingup advice on dietary adjustments. (ahem)

Just so you know...it's impossible to lose 10 pounds of bodyfat in such a short timeframe without surgery or very dangerous drugs. You can lose 10 pounds on the scale, and that may include a small amount of bodyfat, but the vast majority of it will be water weight, which will come right back when you return to normal eating habits.

Instead, might I suggest adopting a diet and exercise plan that will allow you to lose 10 pounds in 2 months? You can lose 1-2 pounds of bodyfat a week (and keep it off) on such a plan.

drjayphd - Yay gym and stuff! As far as dietary adjustments go, I recommend keeping them simple to start with. There's no need to get too worried about the details unless you stop getting results. Ultimately, you want to expend more calories than you take in, and it's easiest to do this by basing your diet on nutritious and filling foods: protein sources (lean meat, fish, eggs, tofu), fruit, veggies, and whole grains. Limit sugary stuff (candy, non-diet pop, fruit juice, etc.) and refined flour. If you improve your diet and stick with it for a month or two and don't see results, count calories to be sure you're getting the proper amount (less than you expend but enough to keep you energetic).

Can't you people use Kilogram as the rest of the world?

And eh, 2 pounds is around 1 KG so... losing five KG within seven days might be possible if you're really obese, and started with a strict, but not unhealthy diet with exerice.

Hell, I swear I just dropped in weight some by spending time at home over the last few weeks. I seem to eat too unhealthy food at the dorm, I better restrict my Pizza phonecalls majorly... it's not that I like eating alot food. I'm just lazy.

Besides I refuse to train outside, so uhm... maybe I should beg my mom to let me have that training bicylce since she never use it. (I won't have bikefriendly weather for months anyway)

Rydain: That would be fine, but I'm going on my wedding in 18 days, so I don't have two months. I'm gonna do that "hollywood diet" thing.

And if you're going on your wedding in 18 days Anya, you're NOT losing 10 pounds. So get over it. Maybe 2-3 without starving yourself but that's about it.

A few days ago, I was trying to figure out how to effectively exercise a certain muscle group, and asking around to see if I could get any ideas. Then one of my hacking buddies IMed me and we started chatting. And I realized: "Hey, wait a second, this guy's an olympic quality athelete. Why haven't I asked him?". And I did, and he had awesome advice.

And thus, my resolution:

Ask awesome people the right questions.
