That was interesting to watch.
I've been practicing snaking, but I'm not too hot. I notice my improvement each day, which is nice. My biggest problem is that I just turn too much. I've seen others using Yoshi with the Egg and their snaking paths weren't as crazy jagged as mine.. so I figure it's my own error. Is there any sort of trick to keeping your path as straight as possible?
This game kills my left thumb so bad.

I'm really good at shaking around turns but that's it. It's not too hard on straight aways now. I've been teaching myself really. That is pretty helpful even though I've practically got it down. I did learn one thing though. Don't shake on small paths. That was helpful.

Just don't snake ONLINE. Do it in 1-Player mode if you want. Snaking online is the proof that you play just to win. I snake very rarely but just to see how long I can do it without crashing in the wall. Very rarely = I did it only twice.

Just because YOU can't snake, doesn't mean you need to limit the rest of us. I play for different reasons than you.

and guys, I just found a ridiculous glitch that has no point whatsoever.

I was screwing around in delfino square. Y'know the part where the path splits after the first path split and you can use a mushroom or miniturbo to boost to that pier?I went and did a power slide through it, getting a miniturbo and turning left around the corner while on that area, and jumping at the edge so as to go backwards from the right way and out at about, Oh I'd say a 30 degree angle. And instead of falling into the water, I went through it and everything was black, and I just fell for a bit before lakitu picked me up and threw me back to just after the first item box set, only there aren't items in time trials. It's a very broad area that they just only applied a water texture to instead of any calls for lakitu tied to the splashing sound/graphic as a result of them not expecting you to go that way. It's pretty easy to reproduce. It's easiest with a mushroom; just go to the edge of that area, on the dirt at the corner of it by the trees, and turn left until you're facing the wall. Use the mushroom and curve right, and hop at the end so that you narrowly miss the wall and go off the track.

Like you said, it has no point. I wonder if the Block Fort glitch is still there...

There's a glitch in the Block Fort? Interesting. I started to get really good at shaking when I was doing a battle at the Twilight House and I was always just shaking around it the entire time and never got hit once in there. It's just a way that I found that helped me. I've gotten a lot better but I'm still having some trouble.

Kyouji: useless glitches for the win.

Gotta try it, thought.

I actually didn't read that post until now. I'm gonna try that too. It sounds quite interesting. If I succeed, I'll get back to you. Until then, you'll know where to find me.

I did the glitch! It isn't as good as I thought it would have been though. Also, I'm ready to race anytime so just PM me if you need some simple training. I kinda stink compared to a lot of people here. So if you wanna race you can, as I said, PM, or IM, me.

Finally completed mirror mode.

I can do snaking pretty well now, too.

Gotta do the missions (I probably won't)

The missions really aren't all the hard and can be quite fun actually. I've only done the first 2 levels but they are fun. You should do them. I should too.

Meh, I never done snaking before but I probably start training some as soon I unlocked some stuff.

I finally got the chanche to play the game all by myself today.

Friend code is pending~ If I see the adaptor in a shop... i'm going to buy it.

DO SNAKING! DON'T BOTHER WAITING TO UNLOCK STUFF! START NOW!

Anyways, on another note, has anyone else sucessfully done the glitch? It's quite easy once you understand it. Alastor showed me in the WFC so it made more sense. It's not that great so if you start getting pissed off at it, stop.

I just got out of like ten four-way matches of MKDS with some friends from GameFAQs. That was awesome. Four-way matches kick ass when everyone is of roughly equal skill. Anything can happen, and everything will happen. It owned so much.

You know, I might go as far and won't bother to play much online until i'm somewhat decent on snaking.

And it's possible to do on MKS yes? I kinda of missed the ability to do that, mostly becuse I never ever used a guide for that game.

I just hope there won't be any exploit popping up with Mario kart DS... well there is that "disconnect during race" thing but I give two shits about stats. :/

Found out what "snaking" is just recently, and I've carried this over since I first did mini-turbos on MK64, onto MKSC and now onto this game. Except on this game it seems to be the easiest of the three to pull off a mini-turbo thus making this "snaking" technique a whole lot easier (almost too much easier). Though still as it's a habit of mine to carry it out I still do this in GP all the time. I have used it against Drag on Online mode, even though he can't snake we had a good share of wins and losses amongst each other. Though arguably there's a balance, I'm new to the whole game so I'm at a disadvantage there .

Indeed, while my snaking wasn't as smooth as on the video up there I kinda noticed it was quite easy to pull off. Although I probably have to play alot to perfect it obviously.

Friend code will be posted as soon I get an adaptor, or dare to bring the DS to the train station here.
