Ahoy, fellow interweb users.
I've been thinking...
The people here have made good ROM hacks over the years.
Why not make a compilation of them? I would be glad to help.
What I mean is this: All the ROM hacks from ACMLM users,
all on one GBA rom, made with PocketNES.
I'd like to know if this is allowed, seeing as it wouldn't be
a commercial ROM. I just want to lay down a few rules.
1: Complete hacks only. I don't want SMB hacks where
only half of 1-1 is done.
2 : I need to know which game it's a hack of, so I know which ROMs to patch.
3: No graphics only hacks. I don't need 1337 versions of SMB that play the same.
Levels must also be altered.
4: Don't post links to the ROMs, only to the ISP or it's relevant topic.
5: Only NES roms will be accepted, no GB, SNES, Mega Drive ect. ect. ect.
6: Not so much a rule as a note. I don't mind multiple hacks of the same game,
just stick to rule 3.
7: I'd prefer it if you didn't just whip up a hack to get in, but you can do so if you wish, just make sure it's good.
8: Everyone can submit as many of their hacks as possible, just include the links all in one post, and only submit your own. If the creater doesn't want it on the collection, don't send it in.

Please tell me if this is OK.

First, I don't think a GBA rom can hold that much infromation.

Also, I think a bit of piracy would be involved because it would carry much of the infromation from the orginal roms.

Lastly, a game is made with RAM addresses. If you have several different games that use the same RAM with different uses, you could run into a delema. But I think that can be solved by only running the addresses if set for a certain hack.

Uh... I have made these kind of GBA roms before...
I had like 20, 30 on one, and a couple were hacks of SMB,
which was on the same ROM.
I use the PocketNES MenuMaker.
And I doubt the big N has Webninjas monitoring every post, so... : - P

Well if it's doable, then yes! HELL YES!! let's do it!
(will you be able to do it with SNES hacks eventually?)

I doubt it, unless a Pocket SNES Menu Maker comes out.
If not...... I guess not

There are hacks for various systems made by people of this board, ranging from NES to GBA to SNES and even N64. I don't think you'll be able to get all that on a GBA ROM.

Except he said its only for NES hacks ._.;; it sounds like a very cool idea but the legality of posting a GBA ROM which still contains fully patched ROMs might be a bit risky. I would hold off until you got the approval of a higher-up (read: mod of this forum or anything higer than me ._.; )

Ugh. Obviously, there would be no approval from a higher up because it's certainly illegal AND against board rules. You can't post ROMs, hacked ROMs, or a 'non-commercial GBA ROM' containing hacked ROMs (because it contains, gasp, hacked ROMs). Plain and simple. For that reason, this idea won't work.

Well that depends... if it stores the NES ROMs uncompressed, it could be done. Make two GBA ROMs, one with the unhacked NES ROMs and one with the hacked ones, and then make an IPS patch from that. To use it, you'd make a GBA ROM with the unhacked NES ROMs yourself, and apply the patch.

Though at that point, it'd probably be easier to just make a GBA ROM with the hacked NES ROMs. Plus if any of the hacks expand the ROM, they can't be used, because everything after them would be moved, so the IPS would end up containing the entire ROM anyway.
