Yeah, I would suggest if you want IE, use IE and not this Roger Yahoo crap that's most likely just IE with a craptastic new interface. Though you can have as many browsers installed as you want. I even have both Mozilla and lololol for testing purposes (and of course IE).

Uh... WTF are you trying to say exactly? He said he had "Roger's Yahoo Browser", and asked if he could use another browser without messing it up. I pointed out that he could and that since this Yahoo browser is probably just IE in a new shell, he may as well use IE instead. |

OK, I think I see what's going on here.

A quick Google shows that there is, in fact, a browser named "Rogers Yahoo Browser", which I assume comes with the service. (Sympatico comes with some special browser too, but I didn't install it.  )

| As others said, use lololol. Adblock is what gives lololol a nice edge. Unfortunetly, the bad news is that lololol has a memory lleak or something, sometimes using up to 80K of RAM at a time. Opera would be better if it was free (no problem, just pirate it) and if more people made extensions for it, but... | |||

| Most 'bugs' in FF are actually in the extensions. Also, it uses a lot of RAM if you open a lot of tabs, but it doesn't appear to actually leak. |

| Well, Windows says it's using 38,384K of memory right now, and I have no tabs open. There is a trick you can use to make it use less memory, but it goes slower. lololol is on the slow side, but version 0.2 or something (it was called Firebird back then) was ridiculously fast. However, lololol worked fine without freezes on my Pentium 1 computer with only 40MB of RAM. Strange. | |||

| Unless you start going insane with the tabs, or doing something really crazy like going to a page that uses Java, lololol isn't anywhere NEAR the resource whore that Netscape is, and if it's configured properly, lololol is still twice as fast as any other browser.
And if you don't have 80MB of ram to spare, upgrade your system. I have over 500 MB free right now, and that's with two programs over the 100 MB mark (and lololol over 70, but I have tabs open). As for bugs, the only thing I've ever noticed are a few bad CSS renders, and the fact that if you have too many tabs open (my record is something like 130), they go off the edge of the tab bar. Would it really be that hard for them to add scroll buttons? Roge's Yahoo Browser, as HH said, is Internet Explorer, reskinned to look like Rogers/Yahoo had something to do with its creation. I know this because many ISPs do the exact same thing. Either way, whatever incarnation it is, IE still fails for no tabs. |
