Wow, what a rain delay.

Anyways, posting this here because I said so. I got another one out last week but I'll get that figured shortly.

Ah yes, this would be my newest one. I haven't got a chance to UL it on Proto yet. Those that can't get it will have to reg on BMS prior to DLing it.

Yea, after the move I had issues getting started on that. I should be doing the heavy work when classes let out in a few weeks. I've got finals to worry about so shorts are all I have for now.

Guess what? I still hadn't gotten a good dance mat and convertor. xD

*sigh* Whenever I get a credit card, I should seriously go buy one as the first thing I do. Over the internet obviously, as I don't find them easily around here.

And there is alot of stuff that I did need to caugh up with.

I need to get some of the ones that I missed back on BMS that I put on FFR. It's just with 56K it's been taking a shitload of time. Might wanna get this taken care of before they decide on FINALLY releasing BMS 7.0 since they still intend to shoot the database down.

Ive had Stepmania for awhile, and want to get a DDR pad for it. What kind of pad should I typically look for? Metal? Plastic?

Depends on how much money you want to spend.

I spent 75 bucks for 2 halfway decent soft pads and 20 bucks for a PS2 --> USB convertor (Super Joy Box) and they're still lasting me since the start of the year. I know that DD bought TWO Cobalt Flux and uses them for doubles in some woodworked thing but I'm pretty sure he's had offset errors or something. I never have.

Mine are RedOctane Ignition ripoffs...they're just Generic Ignitions but they work just as well. If you're not wanting to spend a lot and don't mind the occasional shifting of a pad, go soft. If you want something relatively close to the arcade experience and have a hundred or so bucks to blow, buy hard. Some pads may or may not have a USB plug (i.e., mine didn't) so you'll have to know if you need a convertor or not. Stepmania's site has a list of boxes that work for that. I used Super Joy Box and that worked well for me.

Alright i'll look into that, thanks. I was getting kind of worried about the price range between the soft and hard ones because the soft ones were relatively cheap but looked like they'd slide around if you tried to use them. >.>

Yea, don't get the piece of crap 10 dollar ones that are the ones that come with the game. They may last like...two dance plays and that's it. Soft will have the tendency to slide once you start getting up to the really high speed shit (PSMO is nay impossible to try soft). I'm pretty sure I could do PARANOIA survivor Heavy all told on my soft without a lot of problems with the pad itself sliding around...now if I could just pass the thing instead of dying five seconds from.

I have a pad from a company called BNS USA. Don't remember how much it was offhand, but it worked (And continues to work) well.

Remember: The surface you play on is as important as the pad. Sounds obvious, but don't forget it.

Hardwood floor works the best provided that you don't have anything like splinters and shit in it. Taping softs to a 33x33 piece of plywood works well too...or just taping it to the floor so it doesn't slide.

I don't do that, but I know of those that do.

So. Afronova.

I can SURVIVE it, and I know the theory behind the so-called "Afronova Walk"...is there any way I can convert theory to practice easily? Or do I just have to go into Training Mode, set the song on Fucking Slow (IE 1) and slowly build up to speed?

Oh, and are there any songs on the PS2 versions that can properly build you up to the stamina required to pass So Deep on Heavy? My legs get exhausted long before the end of that.

Afronova isn't really that bad, it's just streamy.

If you're going to do Training mode, give yourself the benefit of doubt and start on 3 or 4 and go from there. You can work on sections of it as well, I did that with a few songs to get them down pat (Spin The Disc, MAXX Unlimited and Air for starters)...

It's about Dance Dance Revolution and Stepmania. If you don'y know what those are, this isn't the thread for you.

Anyways, I wore myself out last night (not with sex... dammit).
MAXX UNLIMITED: AA
The Legend of MAX: A or B (wasn't looking)
PARANOiA Survivor Max ONI: B

I AA'd I Do I Do I Do.

It was pretty cool, because some really skinny Chinese guy was chirping me the round before where I was doing crappy. So, I challenged him and he got s-s-s-s-s-served. Joint premium where your enemy pays is AWESOME.
