Go to the place where the bushes are, and look down in the lake. Maybe a Zora could be hidden in there?

I got a question,
Is there a Hookshot in the 2nd Quest? if yes, can you tell me where it is? |

Anyone know a walk on air cheat or something like it? I've finally given up on this stupid room where u gotta bomb jump through it.

NastyNate: Nope, there is no Hookshot. This means, you can only beat two dungeons in the Icy World (If you are using A hovering, you can finish Impa's Ways too.)
Tanookirby: You need to go through the other half of Din's Catacombs. Either by using the Hookshot inside, or going through the secret entrance in the Misty Woods. DracoSlythe: Use turbo on the A button, this will make you glide over holes. |

Some people have mentioned A Hovering, or the trick where you 'hover' using the Pegasus Boots... I'm curious: How does it work?
Tompa Paragoomba Since: 01-16-07 Last post: 6293 days Last view: 6293 days |

When you have the Pegasus Boots you shall press A every second frame and Link will hover over holes. You'll need to sign a turbo button for A to be able to make it.
I'm not 100% sure why it works. So I can't explain more clearly than that=P. (edited by Tompa on 02-11-07 05:15 PM) |

I'm not sure then if it's an emulator issue... I've tried using Turbo+A to 'hover', but it doesn't seem to work. I still fall in holes.
I'm using ZSNES 1.51, by the way. Any suggestions? |

The turbo on ZSNES is a little slower than SNES 9X, unless you change the standard setting. Go to Input, there you'll see "Turbo at 30Hz", take that off, and it will work.

I am stuck on the 3F of the tower.
Spoiler:
I passed the part where the first crystal clue was given and beaten the boss in the room. I am now stuck on what to do next, having gone to both exits from that room. What am I supposed to do next? Am I supposed to go through the room with the maze and beamos? edit: nevermind, i've past that part now. (edited by deezy on 02-11-07 11:29 PM) |

Actually, it might be worth hosting...but I don't want to make Euclid or SePH angry, that might be taking it a step too far... (Don't you need the Hookshot in Shiek's to get through to the transporter in the room with falling floor that you need blue blocks to be down to get access to the boss?) I am going to play the 1st quest again instead but skipping the Guardhouse via the save available as I don't want to have to do that again. I got your corrections and suggestions and will implement them. I am not thinking I will be releasing another version unless there are substantial changes or you have submitted a bunch of your stuff to add. EDIT: I will add to my post about it anything substantial that comes up. I am going to add the levitation glitch that many people were just asking about. (edited by nephalim on 02-12-07 03:42 AM) |

Bah... I have apparently used all the save states that I had for the second quest :O. Sorry Nep. You don't need to go to any other dungeon than those I mentioned, so that'll save you some time at least.
No, you don't need the hookshot in Shiek's Dungeon, just run into the wall and bounce over. I'm taken so much time with the boss FAQ that it's killing me, lol. I actually found it rather useless to calculate how many hits you need to kill the boss with every single weapon. Like this: Armos Knights: Found in: Cave where the lamp is, Nayru's Bay, Saria's Gardens, Parallel Tower Lvl 1 Sword: 48 hits. Lvl 1 Sword SpinAttacks : 24 hits. Lvl 2 Sword: 24 hits. Lvl 2 Sword SpinAttacks : 16 hits. Lvl 3 Sword: 24 hits. Lvl 3 Sword SpinAttacks : 16 hits. Lvl 4 Sword: 16 hits. Lvl 4 Sword SpinAttacks : 12 hits. Arrows: 3 hits. Silver arrows: 3 hits. Ice rod: 6 hits Fire rod: 8 hits. Bombs 12 hits Bommerang: 12 hits. Hammer: 16 hits. Cane of Bryna: 48 hits. Cane of Somaria: 48 hits. To do that takes a very long time. So now on I'll just finish the Piece of Heart FAQ instead. 30 pieces are done so there are some more to go. |

you only need 1 crystal in second quest to get the powered up silver arrows. Having more than 1 doesn't make it more powerful. The idea is to beat only Darunia's Caverns because you'll have to go there for the red cane anyway, Sheik's become a more optional dungeon for the cape.

Euclid: Sometimes you need to hit the bosses more times than what's neccesary to kill them. Like Draegor, in my speedrun I hit him 6 times and he died, during another playthrough I hit him 10 times. 2 which were after his "final message". You know what can cause this?
Here's my latest glitch btw : http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3824/Glitchingagain.smv If you lift a big rock thing, I think it works with all kinds of things but I did it with that one, and die meanwhile, this will happen. Enemies will have "Arrow legs" and the items looks weird =P. |

EDIT: FAQ Officially "Re-Released" to fix some things and add a bit of info. HTML
Formatting fixed - the file was changed to all html-format view in both formats. I noticed some double spacing missing as I uploaded it but it will have to wait, it isn't critical. P.S. - Euclid, you can post it wherever you want in however fashion you want. Originally posted by Euclid Why do you need one crystal? Where does the game check that you have a crystal before giving you the silver arrows? ...I'd really like to know the conditions for getting the big bomb. In the original, you had to save the smithy's partner (done automatically) and beat levels 5 and 6. Did you change these to other specific dungeons? Tompa: You don't have an SRM for it? EDIT: Stupid one post limit. Can someone lift this, what do I need to do? What I was trying to post - Originally posted by Tompa EDIT: Interesting, it looks like the level 2 and level 3 swords have identical damage...I wrote in the FAQ it had a more powerful spin attack as some have said. It could just be that one enemy though. Definitely taking it way too far. Just compare weapons that are important or noteworthy for that boss and definitely drop the stuff you can't have yet, like for those Armos Knights almost all of that can be dropped....although you do face them again, not sure if they are identical in this regard. Cane of Byrna is totally unnecessary to give exact hits. It's interesting to note the weapon's relative power level, however, you can bring Silver Arrows down to 1 and then make a general comparison chart. THAT would be interesting, and where it diverted, and sticking to the important strategies with bosses. But the Heart Piece FAQ is far more important, IMO. If you actually write it yourself then the FAQ will truly be co-written by you and you can get your props (for something very important). Either way with all the help you have made it what it is and I am not holding anything back, it's just weird writing as "me" in something co-written . I'll figure it out. EDIT: Some advice - organize the heart pieces by the order you can obtain them (and perhaps provide an alternate index by geographical area). YET ANOTHER EDIT: I changed it to just "by Nephalim and Tompa" in the Re-Release. Take a look. And no, DOC files can't be opened (properly) by Notepad - but they can by Wordpad which comes with Windows by default. The HTML and DOC should appear identical at this point. It's the same damage everytime you face Armos Knights. And that's one of the bosses that won't take more damage if you are using Lvl 2 or 3 sword.
Helmassaur King, however, is like this: lvl 1 Sword Spinattacks: 7 hits. Lvl 2 Sword: 8 hits Lvl 2 Sword Spinattacks: 6 hits Lvl 3 Sword: 7 hits. Lvl 3 Sword Spinattacks: 5 hits. I'm actually soon done with all the bosses, I'm doing it meanwhile I'm doing the Piece of Heart FAQ, so I'll stick to them both anyway, hehe . What I'm doing with the Heart Pieces is: 1. Taking a picture when you see the piece, if the piece is inside a house/cave, I also make a picture of the entrance to that house/cave. 2. Numbering in which order you can take them, hard to tell though... 3. Writing down a short description of how to get them. "1. Located in a cave in Kakariko Village." Something like that... I'm going to put it all in a rar file and send to you later. We'll see if there's one piece too much=). EDIT: Hehe, a new glitch everyday. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3829/WaterGlitch.smv But this works perfectly well in the original game, and I didn't find it either. But it looks fun so I could show those who cares. (edited by Tompa on 02-12-07 01:24 PM) |
