I got my Nintendo Wii at bestbuy last week.

Woke up 4:00 am in the morning, with 4 other of my freinds. Happily I took my Wii home and my freinds got some too.

When I opened it, it seemed perfectly fine. But a couple of days later my Wii starting acting very slow. If I hung out in the Wii menu too much then chose a channel the Tv screen will go black, which is normal while it's loading, but of course, it never loads. Then about that very same moment all controllers shut down at the same time. And if I try to look for a signal, the remotes don't detect the Wii.

Another problem occurs when I hang out too long in the Mii Channel. When I try to go back to the menu the screen once again goes black.

All other channels seem to work. Forcast Channel sometimes doesn't load the weather on the Menu. It says "Unable to get weather forcast, push start". Or something similar to that. The News Channel takes forever to load, but I guess it's worth it, because it works perfectly after that.

The Wii Shop Channel works fine but when I try to download the Opera Browser it gives me 99.9% of the time "Transaction Failure Error Code 200004" .

I got the Opera Browser by luck somehow but it only seemed to cause my Wii more problems. It freezes on almost every page even the ones without heavy "loadage". Can't watch videos or nothing. I deleted this channel and redownloaded it, but it didn't seem to help.

I also tried to reformat my Wii memory and lost every single peice of data (but luckily I made a back-up of everything). But to top it of, didn't do anything to stop the problems.

The games freeze every once in a while, I don't think the games are the problem but the Wii. My games are Wii Sports and Red Steel.

I think the problem lies in the Wii "Software" and not the actual Wii "Hardware".

Wii is still my favorite system spite all this, but I'm very frustrutated on how it came. My freinds Wiis don't freeze and we got it the same day and store. I even did tests on theirs to see if my Wii's actions were normal. I also tried googling these problems but found none similar. I'm now waiting till the next luanch date and switch my Wii, but I have no clue when this will happen. And I don't trust sending my Wii through the mail to get it fixed. I find it risky. Does anyone know when the next launch date will be?

I got my Wii on the 21st (Last week) using this site:
www.ps3seeker.com/wii
It doesn't say when it comes out next but does anyone have any idea?

If you don't have it with enough ventilation, it tends to overheat and cause problems like that. I also nearly fried my copy of Wii Sports leaving it in my Wii, as mine doesn't get proper ventalition. :/

Yeah, it sounds like it's overheating. Mine runs pretty warm even with what should be proper ventilation (though I wonder if the stand itself doesn't block the air vent ), but it's been acting normal so far.

This is what I get when there's no Internet connection.

Mine is slow too, probably because there's a lot of information to load.

That's what reformatting does. It's a fancy way of saying erase everything and set up an empty filesystem.
