WTF? Another SPAMMY shyguy post? No.

Totaka's song is the appropriate name for the music you'll find in Mario Paint after you click the O. Totaka's Song is the appropriate name for the music you'll eventually hear in Richard's house in Zelda Link's Awakening. Totaka's Song is the appropriate name you'll hear in the Game Over screen in Mario Land 2 after waiting for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

What other games have you heard this hidden tune in?

There were a few good Yootoob movies out regarding it. They recently found it in Luigi's Mansion, too...

Is this song really that popular to nintendo? I actually think I heard it in Wario Ware but I really can't confirm it.

No, the composer for those games inserts them as easter eggs.

It's much like a developer putting their name or initials in a level somewhere (Duke NNukem 3D has a bunch of them, I think, Geurilla War has one, Adventure on the 2600 has one)...

Just search for "Totaka's song". It can't be that hard to find.

(I don't know where they are anymore)

That X game he mentions. It is the first game to contain the song so there goes everyones favorite Mario Paint. The two games most people should look through are Wave Race 64 (just stole my friends copy to check every now and again for it) and Wii Sports. I have a strange feeling it's in the opening of the disc channel but I can't check right now.

'Twas me.

Yeah, I tried the Luigi's Mansion one out when I was home over Christmas break. It was pretty cool.

Also I think they may have been mistaken about the GB Wario Land one, because I checked the entire GBS of that game and didn't hear it anywhere... :\

Did you play every song for at least 5 minutes? Even then, it could be an incomplete rip.

This is certainly a neat secret, I remember finding it in Yoshi's Story. Super Mario World has a similar trick in the Special World, but with a different song.

Also, the English version of Link's Awakening has secret music if you name yourself "ZELDA", but I don't know if it's that song. I thought I had a copy but apparently not.

I've heard that entering your name as "TOTAKEKE" in the Japanese version will do it, though.

I didn't feel like recording from a GB emulator so I just got my OLD GB out and recoreded it. The file's attached.

Edit:Uhh... guess it's not... heh heh... sorry... really all it is is the zelda theme mombo style.

Its "Rinku" (Link), I beleive.

Also, Totaka did not work on SML3: Wario Land, only on SML2. That was misinformation ._.;

Oh and because I can, [insert plug about how she met Kazumi Totaka once]

I see that they found it in Pikmin 2 as well now. Heh. I probably check it out whenever I get around replaying that game.

Xkeeper: Weren't Duke Nukem's 3D easter eggs be along of the line when you get into areas you're not supposed to with the no clipping? "You're not supposed to be here."
