My wii remote's motion sensors won't work anymore for some reason. The pointing, vibrating, and sound features still work, but the motion sensors won't work. I have no idea why they stopped working, but we've been playing WarioWare a lot, and I'm thinking that could be a contributer (some people just don't know how to use a wiimote...). This wii remote is the one that came with my console, so it has the first generation wristband on it. On the titlescreen of WarioWare, the motion sensors are used to make stuff happen on the screen. I tried my secondary wiimote, and it works fine, but the primary one still doesn't work. Now, I'm asking here because I want to make sure it's not just a stupid problem like "durr replace teh batteries durr". I've tried swapping batteries, resyncing, connecting and disconnecting the nunchuck, and nothing has worked so far. Has this happened to anyone else?

I know this sounds weird, but try replugging in the sensor bar. I had something similar happen to me, and when I went to turn it off I took the sensor bar out for no memorable reason. I went back to the wiimote and it worked o.O

Sounds like the accelerometer went bust. Nothing much you can do but get a new Wii Remote.

That's what I was thinking... I tried leaving it overnight without batteries, and that didn't work, and I tried unplugging and replugging the sensor bar (even though it has nothing to do with the accelerometers), and that did nothing, so yeah, just like I thought, the accelerometers must have died. I'm concerned about how this happened though... if possibly someone was a little too rough with warioware, or what, because there isn't anything stopping this same thing from happening to my other wiimote.

It was probably just a lemon. Still, sucks though. Wiimotes are hell to find up here.

My friend Co-co bought one the other day (camped the Wal-Mart truck because they're HELL to find here too.) It died the same way the next day. I think some of them are just bound to be lemons. Of course they were sold out when he returned his...

You could try one of the spiffy programs people have written that allow your PC to read the Bluetooth signal coming from the Wii remote. Most allow you to see the reading from each axis of the accelerometer. Try that and see if you get anything.

Of course, you'll need some Bluetooth hardware to use this program. If you know anyone with a Mac, there's a few programs written for OS X and most modern Macs come with Bluetooth hardware.

If it's not working with the Wii for one controller (yet works with another), it's doubtful that it works at all.

If a Bluetooth-enable computer isn't readily available, you can try another Wii. But my first statement stands, it's doubtful that it would work.
