Though it's quite loose in the definition of MMORPG. The only way it's multiplayer is the scoreboards. It's online, for sure. Role-playing? There's forums. A game? It just barely ranks in.

What sort of MMORPG can this be? One that requires you to do nothing at all. It's the true beauty of Progress Quest.

Angband with the Borg player beats this any day.

A long time ago I had Progress Quest, until one day something screwed up with it and I couldn't restore my character.. so I just deleted the game and never went back.

Graal is still older than this, but Progress Quest has been running for nearly 5 years now

I still have my character (ranked pretty high too), but I've forgotten about it for a long time now ... if I ever care one day, I could just start it again and catch up in "turbo mode"

2002, actually, if my GameFAQs review of the game is any indication.

I've never heard of this. It's genious. Gaming without interaction... it's sort of like television, lol.

It was sort of a stab at what game were evolving into back then; less and less thinking on the user's side. I don't think the creator ever expected it to be a hit.

How does TKEP require brain cells? You just click to kill people. If you can remap your right mouse button to something else, then you can use turbo but that is about it.

You need to know how to click the mouse.

(Then again, with PQ you need to know that as well to open the "game".)
