Samus wall jump pose for right-wall walljumps has a misplaced elbow. As in, her elbow is not connected to her body, it's hanging down below her arm.
This looks especially bad in Insanity for reasons I will not expound upon. So I fixed it. Not much else to say aside from that. Aside from mentioning that the only problem is that THE ELBOW IS DRAWN IN THE WRONG PLACE. This is in no way a programming bug, it's just a graphic mistake. I'd upload it onto http://drewseph.zophar.net/Kejardon/ as I do with a lot of stuff like this, except that zophar's reset seems to have changed the password. ::EDIT:: I forgot to mention this is for a *headerless* rom. I avoid headers whenever possible. (edited by Kejardon on 11-28-06 10:24 PM) |

Wow, I'd never have noticed that even after playing all the SM hacks I could find. Good eyes Kejardon!

If you are talking about that tiny dot below her left arm, that is probably supposed to be a finger / thumb. The reason it does not look connected is due to shadow over her palm.

I don't think so. On those pics, shadows are dark purple. Black is supposed to be transparent...

Her thumb is connected to the middle of her fore-arm and is as long as said fore-arm as well? Funny, I've never noticed that in any other pics of her I've seen before. Not to mention the lighting on her thumb being really bizarre - is her thumb some sort of half-circle clamp? |

if percepted the right way, it does look vaguely like a thumb. she could have her thumb outsretched behind her palm, like im doing right now, although i dont see why she would be drawn like that. it probably is a graphical error though, thanks for fixing it. is this error in the original game as well? because i never noticed it.

I'm picking up on your sarcasm. After getting really close to my screen, I think I see what you are referring to. There are four darkly shaded pixels around the two pixels forming her thumb. In this case, I would say those are outlining pixels (like around her helmet), meant to enhance presence. It does look a bit odd, but mostly because they did not include a pixel or two between her thumb and hand. I could go into a large debate about perspective here, but I would rather not sound like one of my arthouse friends. They annoy the hell out of me. Suffice that I think the original image is fine. ---T.Geiger |

No need to rant about it for 10 years or even to look closely, it's clearly a (minor) graphical glitch, end of story. That's just common sense. |
