As some of you might know, Romhacking.net is set to open pretty soon and so far there is a great deal already in the database, however a lot of the items pertain to translation hacking only. In it's current form the website might not offer as much as some might hope for non-translation hackers such as ourselves.

To remedy this I'd appreciate you guys adding things that you would like to see submitted to the site by posting in this thread, sending an email my way (gavin.b.lynch@gmail.com), or submitting the item to romhacking.net

Unfortunatly the Hacks section will not be up in time for the launch of the site, so please refrain from attempting to submit IPS patches to romhacking.net for just now. You can still post the hacks here or send them to me at the above mentioned email address and I will include them when I populate the Hacks section.

In addition, I'm curious as to what you all would like to see in the hacks section feature-wise. Depending on the practicality, I'll definetly consider suggestions.

So come on, don't be shy, post anything at all that you think might want to be included... you're favorite hacks, favorite utilities, favorite documents that helped you out the most. So let's get cranking, eh?

(also if you would like, register and post any comments in the romhacking.net hacking section thread

Regarding the last link, if I may make this request, omit the Defenders of the Horizons hack; that was nowhere NEAR finished, not to mention that the version there seems to, shall we say, not be entirely my original work (not that my work is anything to brag about; this was from too long ago.) ... what I find most amazing is that the link provided on that page somehow goes to the temporary preview file... that I'll be deleting in a moment...

And, along the lines of hacks, I'd like to recommend Schwa's SMB3 hack, SMB3: Chaos Control. Here's the link for that.

Wow, they even have me and my Pokemon document that I thought had faded away. If I could make a request... could you remove the "Tachman" last name (I prefer to just go by Tzepish)... and I guess move me out of the graveyard...

Ok!

I don't have that much hacks on my website but "thanks" to so many websites disappearing it might as well be the only place that some hacks are still hosted. So you might want to check it out for yourself which ones haven't been added to Romhacking.net . Great to hear you guys are working on it again by the way.

Section wise it should have a system like if a hack is both a lever hack and a graphic hack, it will appear in both sections.

Level hacks
Graphic hacks
Open(source) hacks (hacks like eg coins in smb2, you know, hacks which you can use in your own hack)
Gameplay addition hack (kinda like the one above)
General hacks (with overall hacks, levels, graphics etc.)
Translations

You could even add specific sections for specific games, like smb1.

Well, I'm not completely sure of what type of hacks you want there, but if you would like, you can put my completed Yoshi's Island hack there...SMW2+, since it's the only complete YI hack in the world, so I guess it deserves to be there .

I agree. It'd allow less of a clutter for those looking for specific hacks.

Also I would like to encourage anyone to register and post comments on the romhacking.net message board if they are so inclined.

Sure thing, although in my opinion anything released on the internet is fair game for addition into the database... if someone requests otherwise, I'm sure we will bemore than accomodating.

That's pretty much what I had in mind as I detailed in this post on Romhacking.net's message board.

I think I want pretty much everything that is completed...

It's going to be difficutly to accutely define quality standards, which is why I'm hoping he rating system and search critiria pertaining to what has been changed exactly in the rom will make finding a suitable hack easier.

Add a rating system too, I suppose ppl could just vote thousands of 5(10) for thier own hack, unless you have to be logged in. That way you'll know it's a good hack or not. (duh)

If there is going to be an Adults hack section you can put my hacks there, they are both very complete. I just posted one here recently, and the other can be found on I-Mockery.com. I have third in production, but it will be awhile before its done yet.

By the way i was just wondering about when someone was going to make a big site which hosts hacks. We need one!

I think just a disclaimer or warning in with the description would suffice.
