Time to go all "fan girl" on this, but at first, I wasn't really too hyped up about this title coming to the GBA next month, but then we got the cover art and a small standee into the store, and I just started to go nuts about it! Now I can't wait to play this title all over again, just this time on my free time when I'm away from a console. Sure, I have Final Fantasy III to play, but with Phoenix Wright coming out in a few days, FMA and I'm still stuck in an area in Yoshi's Island, FF3 hasn't even been touched yet. But this is FF6 we're talking about. Good 'ol Espers and of course Kefka. Hopefully it'll be good on the GBA and not some crappy port. From what I've read, it has an extra dungeon and something along the lines of a monster's area/arena.

It is good. The music is not quite of the same level as the SNES one I'm affraind, and I was a little surprised since it looks like Nobuo Uematsu did it again. Though, that does not mean it isn't very good. But it sounds like he just took the instruments he used in FF5's remake and tried to put them over FF6's music...at least the Kefka laugh is intact xD;

The gameplay itself is a refreshing trip back. It is a very faithful port in that regard and I am very happy with it. Maybe it is just having not played it in years, but I found the first couple of battles to be a little bit easier than I remember it. However, like I said I think it is just me not having played it in so long. I think if you were a fan of the original, you will absolutley love this.

I only wish that they made it for the DS and not GBA...but thats just me being picky about my GBA game sticking out of my DS lite.

And as long as the laugh is still there, I'm good.

Yeah, trust me ... FFVI is very, very easy. So yeah.

Few questions:
- So, what's the added content for this one? Since every remake / port so far has gotten some new stuff.
- Any lag issues? We all know FFIV had some issues there during battles, but it seemed like they fixed this with FFV. However, VI's graphics were quite a leap beyond IV and V's, so just making sure I guess?

Other than that, I'll probably pick this up. VI has definitely been my favorite, since forever.

I can answer this one, at least. 4 new Espers (Gilgamesh, Giant Cactuar, Diablos, and Leviathan), a bunch of new weapons, a few new spells, and a new dungeon.

Complete with a new CzarDragon. Or Kaiser Dragon, at least in the Japanese version.

The music is pretty disappointing when compared to the original. Most sound effects are basically the same, however for some reason they always find it necessary to destroy the music.

Would it have been so difficult to use the same samples? :p

I had the GSF set (the music) when it was ripped to ROM for release in Japan in November. FF5 did a better job.

That's what I mean ._. this was my favorite soundtrack of any Final Fantasy and I kind of just hoped that due to its inherent popularity that they would have done a slightly better job on it. But I mean, it IS listenable. It's no Mario Advance 4 so I'm happy as far as that goes

Sure, it's listenable, but you're definitely right about them keeping the same set as the one from 5.

Least it's a bit better than how they handled IV.

I wanted to play through FF6 again a few months ago but decided to hold off until the GBA release.

I'm assuming they'll just make the new dungeon frustrating as hell but who cares?
