No, definitely not, if you're referring to the "very hard optional puzzle." It's actually pretty easy compared to a lot of the other puzzles in the game. All you have to do is Spoiler:
hit a certain spot in the wall with the hammer (the part that you can hookshot to) and go through to the next room. The puzzle in that room can be beaten with the hammer, hookshot, and boots. All you get for it is a full heart container, though. The only hard part about it is that the floor disappears, so you kind of have to restart the tower once you solve it I'm stuck here too I did hit a part in every inch of the wall and nothing happens. Can someone tell how to get out of here this isn't making sence. |

I beat the second quest, it was truly a lot shorter. For those who are wondering if it's worth playing the game again, here is what is different.
HUGE SPOILERS. DON'T READ THIS UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE THE GAME SPOILED, SERIOUSLY LAST CHANCE TO NOT DO IT Spoiler:
-Everything up until Farore's Sky Maze is exactly the same. However, instead of that dungeon, you go into a room where you get the fire and ice rods. You do NOT get the hookshot. -It is highly recommended that you get the Cane of Byrna, as well as 1/4 magic. -After getting these rods you can get your sword forged by the dwarves and go up Draegor's Castle to get to the ice world. Without the hookshot, you cannot beat ANY of the temples except for Darunia's Caverns, where you can get the Cane of Somaria. -With the Cane of Somaria and the Fire Rod, you are now able to ascend the Parallel Tower and get the mirror. -You still have to climb the tower 3 times - Once for the big chest key/mirror, once for the Kokiri Emerald, and once in the light world for the ocarina and path to Ganon. -Ganon takes 70 silver arrows to kill. I wish i were kidding, but that's how many it takes. After beating him, intead of ending up with the triforce, you continue through the Final Dungeon, where you finally fight Trinexx! After beating him, you see the ending. I should mention I STILL don't know where the bombos medallion is, or what the tablets do. To killer7: Spoiler: The weird looking north wall in the room east of the sign that says "optional puzzle" does in fact have a section that you can hammer down, and you will know when you hit the right spot. About those items Spoiler:
Didn't the tablets reveal The Second Quest? Also you get Bombos by tossing the mushroom into the mysterious pond I finished the game. Not really too interested in the secret. Aside from the most agrivating parts, (the guardhouse, the zelda bug, missable items in the beginning, too much bomb jumping, mid-boss regeneration in EVERY SINGLE DUNGEON) the hack was sorta fun. (The X button feature was the best) The hard parts took some of the fun factor out of it. I suggest that you make it so you only have to climb the parallel tower only two times: once in the normal world and once in the snow world. Three is insane. Also may I ask where the red boomerang is? |

Rockman: I would be willing to make a video if you send me the tools, as long as it's possible to get around the fact that I use a ton of save states.
To hell with the bombos medallion. Even if it is possible to get the mushroom when I have magic powder and the quake medallion in my inventory, I'm tired of climbing the Parallel Tower. I certainly don't wan't to do it without magic powder to use against the fire faeries. I'm officially taking over the duty of remaking/fixing dungeons. I'll be doing them according to people's suggestions/complaints.. Starting with the guardhouse and so on.
Here's day one: Screen 1: Link's friend almost looks like he fell drunk or something Well I'm sure alot of people will be happy to see him here instead.. Screen 2: The mushroom will be hard to miss this time around, you will also have the opportunity to pick it up straight in the intro if you want. Screen 3: With Link's friend long gone from that place, what awaits you in the newly placed chest? You'll find out when you play it Screen 4: This should prevent a lot of people from exploiting the previous glitch. You might want to return here to get your heart piece once you get the hammer. Screen 5: Looks like there's water around here now, must be close to the sewers that is. Screen 6: No more deadly spikes between you and the chest... More later... Hopefully this doesn't take too long to fix everything. More likely a mather of months at best. What might take longer however is to transfer the dungeons over the released version of the game. So for those who stopped playing this because of the difficulty and grammar, they might rejoice later when 2.0 is out. (edited by Orochimaru on 01-11-07 06:44 AM) |

I've got some suggestions for the dungeons: (Some SPOILERS for those who haven't beaten the game yet)
Nayru's Bay: The Armos Knights! Holy crap! They are so freaking hard if you forget the boomerang.. one of the hardest bosses in the game. Maybe if you put a reminder towards the end of the sewers telling people how important the boomerang is, or change the miniboss to something easier, like a Moldorm or something. You could also make it so that the light world fairy fountain will upgrade the blue boomerang. Din's Catacombs: Pretty good, I can't find too much to complain about, except maybe put a rock that needs to be lifted up somewhere in the dungeon so the Goron bracelet is necessary. That way, people don't have to travel all the way to the Sky Isles and then realize that they need to go back. Farore's Sky Maze: I don't remember this one that well, but I remember a lot of ridiculous bullshit and cheap hits, especially for so early in the game. If I played through again, I would be sure to bring the cane of byrna. O yeah, now I remember getting screwed by those red octothings because there's not enough room to avoid them, as well as having to backtrack repeatedly through mazes of fire chains that can't be avoided. Rauru's Ruins: I don't remember this one too well either, which means I didn't spend hours on it, so it was probably pretty good. Except for those rooms with like two beamos, flying tiles, and a fire snake moving around and you need to step on a warp tile, except the part that warps you is slightly off center so you take hits while trying to step on the right spot. Nabooru's Hole: I can't think of anything without changing the entire dungeon around, although maybe if there was a torch somewhere on each floor so you can get a better view of the dungeon? Darunia's Caverns: I played this again in the Second Quest, and I could not for the life of me find the small key. I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find it, so I guess maybe make the key a little easier to find (e.g. in plain sight or under a pot rather than inside an enemy you would avoid rather than kill). This place is really just ridiculous, but it comes with the game I guess. Sheik's Hideout: My favorite dungeon. Vitreous is a bitch, though I didn't have the Cane of Byrna at that point, so it's my fault. Good puzzles, not too much backtracking. Impa's Ways: I don't even know. Maybe make some of the different rooms look different so people have SOME idea of where they are? Maybe if there were certain distinguishing marks in some rooms, so they don't look EXACTLY the same. Then you could add even more rooms, if you wanted. Saria's Gardens: TOO MUCH BACKTRACKING for those crystal switches. Also, the bombable crack in the wall in the Fire Rod room is kind of covered up by the words at the bottom of the screen, so I skipped over it about 60 times before finally finding it. Ruto's Fortress: Please don't make us do that statue thing in the first room twice, it was annoying enough the first time. Also please make it so you can get out through the main entrance instead of being trapped inside the dungeon for a while. Also please give some indication towards the beginning that you need the Fire Rod, so we don't get up to Kholdstare and get screwed. Parallel Tower: First of all, please make there be some way to ge the Kokiri Emerald and the big chest key on the same trip up. It is not fun climbing 2 times, let alone 3. Also is there any way to keep Lanmolas from respawning every time you fall down a floor? That room where you have to fight 4 sets of floor tiles and a Moldorm SUCKS. The Moldorm is fine, but I think you could have gotten the point across with only 2 sets of tiles Passing through two spikes where you have JUST enough room to get through is way too precise to even be fun. It's so freakin' hard, even after playing this game twice through. The biggest suggestion I have for this game is to use less flying floor tiles. They're not really a problem when placed every so often, but it feels like EVERY time there is some empty space, it has to be filled with flying tiles. They're fine for puzzles that actually involve them, but it's a pain in the ass to see them thrown in EVERYWHERE just for the sake of adding enemies. If you want to make something harder, there ARE many other enemies in this game. I know this has been mentioned, but there are also too many rooms that are dark and you need the lanturn. It really makes the game kind of claustrophobic, and detracts from the overall experience. You spent all this time making interesting and new dungeons, why don't you want us to see them? By, the way, Orochimaru, you have my compliments on the overworld. It fits together very nicely, even without getting the Ocarina until the end. The only annoying part was having to go through that whole cavern to get to the Sky Isles. 1. Where is the red boomerang?, I don't missed the blue one, but to know for my second try, please. 2. Can't find Kokiri Emerald! is in Parallel Tower of Snow or Normal world? 3. Is true that there is a Mushroom near the "Optional Hard Puzzle"? I want Bombos. 4. Is the a way to after you get the Ocarina, take the warp and get the last room of the Tower? Thanks! and is a perfect hack!, It's hard, but not for cry. |

Thanks for your suggestions roadsarepoison. I see alot of them are fixable and I'm sure I can manage to make some new puzzles of my own to replace some of the flying floor tiles... I also understand that a lot of places currently have rooms in the darkness. Let alone the fact a dungeon in plain darkness can be annoying. I'll probably just keep the darkness in Nabooru's Hole and add torches like suggested. All the other dungeons will get overhauled by many new things to make it look like a product Nintendo would have made themselves. Think about the same quality I've spend on my version 3.0 overworlds but with Euclid's dungeons this time. (I'm quite ambitious sometimes, I know)... While I'll change many things, I do not intend to redo all the dungeons myself. I'll leave them like they are in a sense, but I'll make sure they are more enjoyable | |||

Day 2 [haven't done much, but still]
Screen 1: Remember the spikes labyrinth in the original, that's what it looks like now. I tried making it look more like normal sewers would be... Screen 2: I didn't liked much the room with the heart piece, so I've redone it from scratch. Screen 3: I moved the blue boomerang chest to somewhere everyone can see it I'm just starting to get the hang of Hyrule Magic again, so the next few updates should contains more things done to them... |

Snow world - near the top but don't go too far, it's off in a side room for which you need to step on a tile to oen the door. 3. That's what I hear, I never actually bothered. When you get the ocarina, you must take a warp from the last floor to a dead end. My question is if you can come back to the tower and reach the top after you get the ocarina?, and It is posible to get the top in the normal world, because I think you can't take the red path in the normal world. I think perhaps this has been posted but didn't see it, I believe this is one of the parallel world keys, but there is also a glitch that allows you to walk through the wall. For anyone that is wondering this cave is to the left of your house in the parallel world I am starting to get upset as well with all the negativity by those who complain of level design. This guy spent three years working on this for free, while you sat on you behind eating cheese doodles so show some respect. Euclid you are the man I have waiting for this forever and it is well worth the wait. |
